The vibrations from firing caused the cheap foregrip to loosen and detatch during firing. The shooter was caught off-guard and swept his own hand before he realized what had happened.

@ExoticSpotting a full auto handgun is inherently dangerous if you let someone untrained use it. a FA handgun without a shoulder stock like the one in this vid has bad mechanics and requires special skill to control, like in the "freak accident" video even a grown man can have trouble controlling the recoil and the natural reaction is to pull down to stabilize but guess what, nothing stops your hand from dragging the pistol back and down except a butt stock
@ExoticSpotting The foregrip is used to do what? Control recoil. Once that extra control was lost, the recoil produced by the fully automatic nature of the pistol combined with the mans instinct to keep it steady and pull it back and downwards led to him shooting himself.
@ExoticSpotting Actually, I'm glad they decided to post that video. It is a learning tool now for those who shoot their Glocks F/A. Now, I would be hesitant to use a VFG (if ever given the opportunity) and if I DID use it, I would do some MAJOR inspection on the fitment and stability of that flimsy piece of plastic. All a person needs to do (or NOT do) is to mount one on the rail without placing & tightening it properly for another accident like this to happen.
that seems pretty stupid to me, sure its best to teach them safety and responsibility with firearms at a young age, but a full auto pistol is not something for a child, most adults dont even have a need for one. All it takes is for that front grip to snap off and the recoil of the gun combined with the downward pressure will bring the muzzle down, uh oh there goes little timmy's hand.

The recoil wasn't the issue. The problem was the sudden change in shooting dynamics when the foregrip came off.

Using your logic, if a driver has a stroke and crashes, then the car he was driving is inherently unsafe.
The man could have controlled the gun without the foregrip. The issue is that the foregrip came off during firing, which surprised him.
