Our home in Wilbraham was hit by this EF3 (official) tornado. We had damage but 1 street away homes were totally destroyed. Overall, 4 people died, 200+ were injured, it was on the ground for 39 miles and was 1/2 mile wide, thousands of trees were blown over or badly damaged. 2 tornadoes hit us June 1 - an EF1 also. On 07/26 we were hit again by a "microburst" (National Weather Service) equivalent to an EF2. Once again, the same people - and now more - got damage. Luckily, no injuries.

@cadidliac I live in Alabama and I chase for a living. We have tornados hit our city and our surrounding ares quite often. Way to often. Usually EF3 but again...way too often we get EF4 and EF5 tornados. !974, 1986, 1993, 1996, 2003, 2011. All years mentioned were extremly bad with 74, 89, 96 and 2011 being the worst.with pretty much total devistation.
@getalife You have to understand that we don't have storm cellars, or warning horns. This is a VERY densely populated area. Home and buildings are old (many, more than 100 yrs old) surrounded by old growth trees and forests. Our streets are narrow and hilly and can be challenging on a good day. Soooo, in short, a tornado half the size can do double the damage.
