True God doesn't need our money, but He wants us to be faithful to Him which is why we MUST give our tithes and offerings. If you love Him and understand that He alone gives you ALL these blessings, why not give Him just a fraction if not LESS of what He's asking. He gives us soooo much, yet He asks for so little.
