Battle Isle series up to 3rd part i.e. Shadow of the Emperor is the real masterpiece. If you still enjoy playing it then perhaps we could have a play-by-mail duel in BI3, yhm? :o)
The only thing I didn't like about this game was the simultaneous move/attack, attack/move method to the gameplay. I would have preferred to move, then attack, then the other side moves and attacks.
Well, the first game of this type that I played was Military Madness (AKA Nectaris) on the Turbografx-16, so I got used to each side moving and then attacking. It made more sense to me. With Battle Isle, you were often making plans for units that would never get to carry them out because they'd be destroyed during the switch between rounds.
The Amiga don't play midi-files, he plays mod-files or similar. The samples are contained in there. In this case I had run the sound speed at 100%, not 4x, so we can enjoy the sound much more.
The game is 20 years old this year... *sigh*

Loved this game.
Can't remember if I ever beat it.
Used to love using those hovercraft from 2 hexes away. Get them up to elite level...dangerous.

I actually loved this system. Wasn't immediately intuitive, but it made a lot of sense when you got used to it.

It is only that the game is 2or3 times normal speed in this video :-) The music was very good - I got one MID file as a cellphone ringer now...
