I would be all for constant violence but good goalies are too important to let it be open season. ie- Qbs in football, DH in baseball...

well if you have a good goalie, you know not to hit their goalie then, cause yours will get hit. so it works out just fine. QB's in football are not a good comparison, they cry when somebody rolls over their toe, theyre such babies now. This is the way it should be, Probert was just a dick.

exactly. since leaving the net was never part of the original intention of the position anyway, if they decide to wander they should get hit. the NHL wants more exciting play, they added the trapezoid to keep goalies from going too far behind the net.
