Not every military action committed by the United States is considered an act of war. If that were the case, we would be at war against Pakistan right now. It's not about "common sense" definitions. It's about technical definitions.

If we would consider the same action against us to be an act of war then it is an act of war when we do it.
To follow any other logic seems highly jingoistic.

(A) declared war;
(B) armed conflict, whether or not war has been declared, between two or more nations; or
(C) armed conflict between military forces of any origin..."

You're forgetting a very big part of that law. The "act of war" must interrupt a period of peace. Was there peace in Libya before we got involved? No. The revolution was in full-force. There, now you can walk away. :-)

In 1968 they were throwing appliances from the rooftops. The choppers were yelling at the people to discontinue there actions, they would take of come again, there was smoke all over the place, i saw 2 burning cars i was driving a caged vehicle back up for injuries i was going back an forth for 6 hours till it let up and stated again next morning and night. Our guys would hit the bunks with everything on from exhaustion.

I hope nothing ever happen to you know who, let me tell you in 68 I seen cars overturned, building with broken windows, glass bottles, bricks, snider blocks, boulders, steering wheels, car parts, knifes, yes T.V.s a lot of our guys where hurt we had trouble driving in the streets cluttered with the unthinkable are guys had shields and getting hurt, the guys went back to barracks exhausted to hell after 6 hours, better think twice, this time it will be a nightmare.

I was in the military in Kentucky; the riots in 68 were terrible. We were in caged vehicles. Man it was ugly. Think and be careful on how you do business. I hope this never happens again in the U.S. So don't wish what you ask for, because this will be far, far worse.

However, lets talk about John McCain's affiliation with a REAL known terrorist by the name of G.Gordan Liddy! G. Gordon Liddy is a convicted felon since the 1970's who attempted to bomb the Brookings Institute and advised folks to shoot federal agents in the head in the 90's! Obama didn't play this card because he didn't have to, but the facts are the facts!

Liddy admited to it, prosecute him too. Every member of the "Weather Underground" should be charged and tried for treason. The fact is Obama was not the only person to sit on a board with Ayers. There were prominent conservative Republicans who sat on that board too! Surely, you wouldn't consider them traitors too would you?

I would never send my kid to one of these so called prestigious schools - it would be a waste of money. Ayers is a left wing radical who follows Saul Alinskies "rules for radicals" as his guide for life. I don't measure one by what school he teaches for, I measure him by his acts. He attempted to murder US citizens.

@SilverFox466 I would hardly call the University of Chicago worthless. Barack Obama's Alma mater Harvard University is older than our country as it was founded in 1636! Just because you don't share the political views of everyone associated with the school doesn't diminish the fact these schools represent much more than just political ideology. Conservatives attend and debate. The problem is conservatism doesn't require much critical thought that's why you don't see many conservative scholars.
