  • learned a lot,thanks.

  • I wud have usd individal msks to bgin this prject cause the bakround is 2 diverse. I like th idea of using chanls, hven't tried it yet. He lost a lot o hair n that hapns often bt for good effect, u shud try 2 get as mch in as posble for realism. Smtimes the only solution is 2 use simlar bakrounds or edit both elements 2 make them more simlar b4 merging them. Contrast, saturation, britenes, shadows are vry important. Is the light coming from the same direction? See my chanel 4 tutorials.

  • Masking hair can be impossible depending on the background you are transferring the image to. It's important to try to choose similar photos. The reflections of color from the scene will affect the hair color but you won't notice it until you place her on a different background. "Why does her hair look a little green?" It's because the green leaves reflected light onto her hair. Best to put her in a similar background or you'll have much more work ahead of you. Check out my channel for tutorials

  • can you do one to clean up for plants? Its so much more complicated and i cant seem to clean it properly.

  • How do u do it if the background is light and the girl has bright blonde hair?? lol x

  • @TheCruelAngel6 u make the background darker as simple as that :P

  • Great tutorial. I'm an avid GIMP user and I do tutorials for that program. This was in depth enough for me to be able to fully understand how to do it in GIMP.

    Thanks.

  • HELP

so when i do all the work, i wanna copy the selected image to corel draw or to another photoshop page without any background, just those white and grey little squares, so it becomes an image with the shape of the person/thing but when I try this, the copy comes with a white background and i have to do all the cleaning around again with a BRUSH. I don't want it to come with a white background, i want just the image!

  • @BettinaFromBrazil did you make your selection and use ctrl + J? check your layers panel to see if there's the white and grey squares in your new layer. Then if in a new photoshop page, make sure you're in the layer with the white and grey then use ctrl + A or select all then you can copy and paste.

If in a new page, there might be a white background already on there, so that may be the reason. It should paste in a new layer though. if not, create a new layer, then paste and it should work :)

  • uhmm excuse me but i was just wondering...do i have to download the photoshop tutorial(s) ?? please reply fast because i have more questions to ask you...i am new to photoshop anyways!!!

  • thanks!

  • Geez, that was great. I've been using Photoshop for years but primarily as a drawing and painting program. Only recently have I needed to use it for photo compositing, so I've been struggling with how to separate a furry dog from one image and put it in another with all the intricate fur edges intact. You've just shown me how. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you soooo much!!!

  • best video tutorial ive ever seen thanks fr sharing this

  • Thanks a lot for this tutorial. Very instructive!

  • you are great! love the tutorial :)

  • ok i made that part, but now when i copy and paste the image at some random background image, the image of the person im "using" becomes transparent, so what do i do?

  • I've made it so far, but when you are suposed to double click the background layer that option thingie does not appear ( sorry im a starter )

  • With an image as easy as the girl on a white background it is a simple matter to make a duplicate layer and use the magic wand to select all of the white area. Press delete. Go to 'select' and choose modify - contract. Choose 1 or 2 pixels. You can then refine the edges.

  • Your vids are awesome! It's easy to learn how to use photoshop because of your vids :)

  • you are awesome! god bless tutvid!

  • UR GOD MEN!!

    THANKS SO MUCH!!

I NEEDED THIS 4 A WORK IN SCHOOL

    98 PEOPLE ARE FUKING IDIOTS

  • It select all when i do ctrl + click at 6:52 any-explanation please

  • You've learned my so much new tricks :) thx for that and greetings from Poland :)

  • OMG!!! THIS IS SOOO AWESOME!!!! and soooooo much more easy than my other techniques :D

  • With the blonde, you should make a layer with the brith hairs all around her head and make le color modo to overlay or lighten and make a layer with the dark single hairs and make a hard light layer or multiply layer over her. That way you don't loose any 1 pixel hair. No blur area and no jag area.

  • Seing someone using the calculation menu, it because you work with photoshop for a long time. Remember in version 2.5 when the layers did not existed. Calculation was the solution! You do this kind of selection just like me, playing with the contrast of a channel to create a mask. But I'm not happy with the idea of coping just the girl, create a layer mask and copy all that will help with future correction. Plus use the Layer/Matting to remove white pixels the menu is the till version 4!

  • I just wanna select hair how ? he is selecting the woman

  • The tutvid ps basics was very VERY good. In a category where sloppy work is common, its good to hv heard good audio as I hv very bad hearing. Not to contaminate your attitude or anything, but it clearly takes more than the artsy-fartsy inclination to teach this stuff. It takes CONSIDERATION of the student.

I wd recommend an added trancript for the foreigners w[o much english. .
