@crapguy21 Yes, because the Gothic model comes with a Mahogany body instead of a korina body. The Korina model also has dot inlays on the fingerboard, whereas the gothic has none. The pickups on the Korina are not as hot as the Gothic ones.

You're going by the sound... my seven string is the same way, so im pretty stoked to be getting one of these guitars!! all it took was saving, like you said... except i had to save to pay off my parents for school and my car so $1382, bought my seven string $777.98, and now the goth-splorer that i found on ebay fo $348.70!!

@matt1don because a good explorer costs almost double what id be paying anyway. painting it would only cost like 30 bucks, pickups were only 210, not gonna get a new pickguard which even then would only cost 10-20 bucks... soooo basically with all of my upgrades it's only going to cost like 600-650 bucks and a gibson is around 1400, so tell me, why i would want to spend double the money? i know i like EMGs so i know ill love how it sounds, thered be no need for a stupid gibson. i dont like em

its true, its heavy but only the body, infact there is a lot of difference of weight breween the body and the neck (that is lighter).

i think its not hard to play as a guitar!

i mean, its always an explorer that means a "strange" shape and a little of bad balance, and its not confortable as a fender stratocaster....but if you are going to play some fuckin rocknroll and you don't care about all these little details...go for it!

The Gothic series tend to need a bit of a file and graphite on the nut now and again. This then helps the strings not get stuck to the nut :) - hope that helps

@dsckakashi The guitar stays in tune almost everytime but I always have problems getting the G string in proper tune. It has stock pick-ups on the video but I swapped 'em for some emg 85-81.
