Not a comet, Roblox. Comets are Very far away from the Earth and move slowly when viewed from our planets surface. This is a meteor, probably the size of a golf ball, burning up in the Earths atmosphere.

Well almost right. Comets have and do hit the earth. The difference is the composition. Most meteoroids have a stony or rocky composition whereas comets tend to have more ice. It is much more common to see a meteorite ( a meteoroid that has hit the atmosphere) than a comet. It is very rare to see what this is - a meteorite - a meteoroid that survives its fall and strikes the ground.

The difference isn't only composition. The other primary difference is that Comets follow a specific orbit over and over again where as meteors follow a random path.
