I have original copy of Wonder Boy but the levels look bit different than those here. Final level in my SMS version takes place in the clouds... Why is that?
@CescoPisicoli My mistake, my SMS version is just the same as this. I used to have some kind of hack of Wonder Boy for MS DOS about 10 years ago and it looked a bit different and lacked few levels (I confused those 2 versions)
Wonder Boy was the original game, it first appeared in the arcades before coming home. Hudson took it and swapped out the characters, and that became Adventure Island. The AI series then evolved from there. The Wonder Boy series mutated in a different direction, and becomes the Monster World series.
It can be pretty confusing when you look at all the home versions. There were a lot of name changes and characters swapped in and out on various consoles.
if you could play like this IRL, you might actually be able to finish just before the batteries run out. >.> <.<
loved my gamegear, but you have to admit, it had a horrible battery life.

@CamTheKitty - Read the wiki for Adventure Island, if you haven't by now. It was created after Wonder Boy, and was the non-Sega "port" if you wish.
