There is so many way they could fix this problem. I kinda wish they made the Forts work like City raids. Then again when you get like 100 player in teir three fighting we have the same lag for Forts. I Hope they could figure it out. Hell I vote for stealing from DOAC to get ther jump done. I know they do not want to rip on DOAC to fix the Open battles but the really should. DOAC has better RVR then WAR but the grind is just so bad.
I agree that fort and keep sieges should have multiple capture points to spread out the battle a bit. For example, each keep should have three flag points that flip VERY easily. So the attacters would have to send teams out to hold all three flags or else the lord would be nigh impossible to challenge (hp regen, extra aoe damage, super tough guards, whatever). The flip side would be to make the keep lord himself more difficult to defend (perhaps located on the bottom floor of the keep).
Well not bad idea, i was thinking about maybe some 4 BOs inside Fortress (after outer gate down) to controll so ill will open some doors to Lord Room. And those BO's must be undercontroll all the time to keep the doors opened.
But its wrong in some way becouse, it makes only harder for Attacking side, Defenders propably will ignore BO's and camp inside Lord Room. Maybe Defenders need to controll at least one of them to be able to enter to Lord Room... hmm...

Today Red Eye Mountain had a fortress siege. We were able to hold off of order and really, most of the fight was quite stable. I was getting about 15fps or so. Better than the usual 7 or 8...
Got to be honest here - I'm not a fan of Hickman's. I did feel a little sorry for him here, though.
The first step in recovery is admitting there's a problem.
Fortresses might end up being instanced (like the city control fights), and that would not be SO terrible. It would be a lot better than server crashes and excessive lag, for sure.
This change is actually the first positive sign I have seen that Mythic is moving in the right direction since I quit.
Must be tough doing an MMO in these days of single player, (or small scale mp/coop) awesomeness, and trying to fulfill similar expectations in terms of stability.
Good luck with fortresses. You need it! Until city sieges are a relatively regular part of gameplay, people will get bored.

Because that would just make it easier for defense. All they need to do is make 3 spiral staircases that lead to the next floor(s)

Wouldn't it make sense to just instance forts like the cities are instanced?
I mean it works pretty ok for cities, and that would open up forts to be a more interesting encounter rather than just a much larger keep seige.

There are 2 instances open. 1 conquers the fort other instance defends it. Which side wins?
There's now way there will be Victory Point system there due to obvious reasons.
