  • Wow, I just started to watch your videos and this one was the 1st one I choose to watch and all can say is WOW! What a wonderful way to document your family's accomplishments...like a year in review. I think I will do the same as it's a PERFECT way to use up all those pictures I have that don't have a home except for the picture box they're in...thanks for sharing and I'm definitely subbing now....(((HUGS))) Love Laura

  • @docella01030 Thank you so much Laura :)

My family loves that I did this. This year I hope that my girls join in with it more this year.

  • WOW! This is impressive. And what a great idea. Almost mid february now. Hm I might get this year done anyway. I must ask thou the clear sheets you put everything in where did you get it from? Hope not michels, I dont have them here in Norway. This is such a treasure to make. Tfs.:)

    Line Cathrin

  • @linexxa I have yet to start mine for this year..so you still have time :)

As for the page protectors I used. They came with the album.

This is just an ordinary photo album you can get anywhere. I liked this one as it has the black background and I think it makes the photos pop.

I think I have enough for this year (as I bought another album) but I bought the last one, so next year I will have to get something different.

  • What an awesome project! I am going to try one with my children starting next month! Thank you for the great idea!

  • @DivaHarmoni Thank you so much. It wasn't my idea, I just tweaked to be my style :)

  • You did fantastic with this project! I am sure I could never do it... not sure what I would take a photo of every day! LOL! TFS

  • @rsingr100 Thank you :) You would be surprised with what I take photos of, lol.

  • It's awesome, where do you get your photos printed and what size are they? Thanks...Crystal

  • @kaitlinfaith Thank you Crystal. I print my photos at home. My SIL has a small personal printer and I have been using that. My husband just bought me a Selphy personal printer. I can even print smaller then these or just a 4x6 photo.

  • Fabulous! So impressive! I think I'd have to start with project 52 - 1 per week! Lol.

  • @mplsbetty I have seen some ladies doing just that. Or just one per month even.

Thank you for watching and commenting :)

  • Beautiful Tracy!! I have Creative Memories Picfolio albums that are perfect for this! What a novel idea to break through the 12x12 scrappers block!

  • @tidbleger75 Thank you :) Any type of album will work, you just have to figure a way on how to work it to fit your needs :)

  • Great job! It's like a visual journal!

  • @Mixdplate Thank you. Love your name for it :)

  • Really FABULOUS project, Tracy! Thanks so much for sharing it!...Nancy :o)

  • @nickelnook1 Thank you Linda :)

  • @TracysTreasures24 I know you meant "Nancy" but after replying to that many comments I can understand the mix-up! lol :o)

  • @nickelnook1 Ohhh I am so sorry NANCY.

Hope you don't feel bad, I can't even get my daughters names right, lol.

  • It turned out great!! You are right, it is a treasure that your entire family can enjoy. Thank you for sharing this great idea!

  • @gaylefis Thanks so much. My daughters are enjoying it, and funny what I have forgotten in the last little while until I read what I wrote :)

  • Wow! This is such a memory. What a treasure for you and your family. I'm not sure if I could commit to something everyday! You did an awesome job. Congrats for getting it done.

  • @dontazer Thank you so much.

  • This is such a beautiful book! tfs! Hugs, Yolanda and Lisa

  • @lionpaw55 Thank you to you both :)

  • This P365 is awesome Tracy!! :o) Such a great idea.

    TFS!! Hugs, Leonie.

  • @MyPassionForPaper Thank you so much Leonie, planning on doing it again this year...but not getting to far behind this time :)

  • Wawww!i really like it .....I will do that for my girls!thanks for sharing this with us!

  • @creativethoughts100 Thank you for commenting. Have fun and get your girls involved with this as well :)

  • love your project 365 I rememeber you starting this... love all teh little tips you included. I'm planning to use some of those BH page protectors and combine it with my layouts as now i have three kids to include. lol looking forward to this year project.

  • @michelesscrapy35 Thank you :) Have fun with it...just a word of advice, don't get to far behind, lol.

  • I really want to try this! I have a question for you about taking your pics. Do you have the camera automatically put the date on the pic, or do you download your pics daily? I just cant see myself pulling my card out on a daily basis to download pics. Did you jot down on post its what you wanted to talk about daily? I really, really want to do this, but I am afraid I will fail:( Kudos to you for finishing your 365 project! TFS! Cheryl

  • @cher1292 Don't over think this. I did and it took me a bit to get started.

As for the pictures, yes most days I take a photo, it is just something I have been doing for a few years now. I keep my camera cord by my laptop and just plug it in, it puts my photos in a file by each day. Because I have a blog I write a bit about my life on there. For the family stories, I jot them down at the end of the day.

  • How amazing is that?! I'm very proud of you, getting it all documented. I'm excited, just ordered project life materials, hope I can do half the job you did :-) bravo!

  • @NonnieScrap Thank you so much. Have fun with your kit. I think it may be easier with the kit....mind you I did do mine pretty basic. Besides all the inking I did, lol

  • Awesome Tracy! This is, and will be such a treasure in the future. What an amazing chronicle of your year. Great job and congrats on finishing it up. It must have been fun because you are doing it again and thinking about going back to 2010, tfs

  • @KimScrapper Thank you :) I did enjoy doing it. I was real good at the beginning and would do it weekly. Then I just seemed to stop.

I am planning on keeping up with it this year and not taking a break :) I would love to go back and do 2010, but I will take that year a bit slower.

  • Oh wow Tracy!! This album is absolutely awesome, I love everything about it! What a treasure for you and your family. May I ask where you purchased the album/page protectors??? Thank you so much for sharing :)

  • @gloriascraps2 Thank you so much for commenting. The page protectors came with the album. It is just a regular 12 x12 photo album.

  • Thanks for the extra help!!!!This put in a more relaxed state about getting this done!!!!

  • @ChristyLove1861 You can do this :)

  • I love your album!! I'm working on doing something similar. Thanks so much for sharing all your techniques and stories with us!!!

    Tammy

  • @olsenpride Thank you so much for commenting :)

  • Great job Tracy and you are correct this is a treasure for you and your family to keep forever, a legacy to be passed on down through the generations. I have always loved looking at pictures of my mom and dad's family as they were growing up, and how much better it would be if there was actual journaling of details of their lives. Thanks for sharing and kudos to your husband for being such a help to you.

    Sybil

  • @JandSib80 Thank you so much Sybil :) I wish I had more photos of my mom and dad. I love looking at old photos, even if I don't know the people in them, lol.

Yes, Wayne was great doing everything so I could get the project completed. I am planning on keeping up with it this year.

  • wow, very nice idea! =)

  • @Annaf85 Thank you :)

  • What a lovely idea, a year in pictures and words. We all take so many photos nowadays so this is a perfect way to use them. I think I may try this myself. Lovely book. Love watching your videos :O)

  • @TheBlackbutterfly62 Thank you so much. My family is really happy that I put this together :) You should try it, you will be glad that you did :)

  • I totally love this idea!!!! I'm going to get started today!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Your idea is taking a picture everyday, right and add journaling to every picture.

  • @ChristyLove1861 Thank you.

Yes I do take a photo everyday and journal. But some days I may miss a photo, so I would take one the next day. Or some days nothing really happened, so I will take a photo of something in our home and write about it

  • Tracy, you done a fantastic job of your Project 365. Its such a great thing to do. tfs... Yvonne :)

  • @ywhite22 Thank you so much Yvonne.

  • Wow, how wonderful that you finished this project! I bet your family just loves looking through it. Thanks so much for sharing and for the inspiration! hugs, Kimberly

  • @FaerieTalesWithPaper Thank you so much Kimberly. Yes my family is happy I did this, but I think they will be happier years down the road.

  • Beautiful -

  • @candipill Thank you so much :)

  • Very nice! Congratulations!

  • @pachaontas Thank you :)

  • What a wonderful way to journal your life in a year..I'd love to have something like that to pass down to my kids...Great way to use up old paper also love the journaling spots behind the pics..Not sure if mine would be that great it's just Steve and I it might be a boring book lol..love that tab punch...hugs Terrie

  • @oneCraftycookie Thank you so much Terrie.

I don't think anyone really has a boring life, you do something everyday....

Funny as I was looking through my album, we have a lot of photos of food, lol

  • Absolutely incredible Tracy, the best keepsake ever. You do such inspirational keepsakes.

    Happy crafting

    Tracy x

  • @CountryMouse107 Thank you so much Tracy.

  • Love that you had extra journaling. The tabs were a great idea. Hate to cut stories too short. I am in awe of you-what inspiration!!! I have a teeny house and like the idea of keeping your main elements together.

  • @iluvtojournal Thank you :) I am very long winded and love to journal, so this is perfect. Plus not sure if the girls would want everyone reading the silly things they say, so it is a bit private as well :)

  • great idea. I want to do this for my baby boy.tfs!

  • @beeloves2scrapbook You know this would be perfect to start now. Wish I would have with my girls.

I did keep a bit of a journal, but when the second and then third one came around, they didn't get anything :(

  • So awesome! This looks really cool only I am so far behind now I can't even think of starting one of these :0) I love the way yours turned out though! Hugs!

  • @babytweetums Thank you so much Schell. I have seen your layouts, looks like you are pretty close to being caught up :)

  • Fantastic, wonderful, what an amazing heirloom! I wish I could be so disciplined. Maybe you just start, do whatever you can without being negative about the days you miss and keep going, right? If we even just did a few days a month it would still make a wonderful keepsake. Will try. TFS and be blessed. I can only imagine how fun it is to look through!! :D

  • @musictoliveby08 You are so right and have a great attitude about this project. Yes if you miss a day, big deal....some days you will have more than one photo, use one of those.

I have filler photos. On the days that nothing is going on, I will take a photo of something and write about that object.

It is fun looking through, there were things I forgot happened even this year, until I read over the album :) Thank you so much for commenting :)

  • I really LOVE your project!!

I would love to try this, but am a bit overwhelmed!!

What type of album did you use?

Did all the sleeves come in it?

    Thanks for sharing! :-)

    Inky Hugs,

    Michelle xx

  • @inkfairy1 You know if you look back at the start of this project when I was asking for help on how to organize this, I was overwhelmed as well. I (sounds like you do to) seem to want it to be perfect and critique everything. This is just a photo album that I bought from Zellers (it would be the same as a Target in the US). The protectors (pages) came with it (as all photo albums do).

    So don't over think this.

  • Awesome project you did. I can't image how much work, effort and thought you put into this project. Great job Tracy.

  • @Boriville Thank you :) It was a lot of work because I stopped in March ;)

If I would have kept up with working on it every Friday or even during the week, it would haven't been as time consuming

  • Great album! I've been thinking of doing something like this but maybe more on a weekly basis instead of daily. Or maybe even do just a month in review and see how that goes. I'm still not caught up on my Dec. Daily from Dec 2011 (it goes from Thanksgiving thru New Years). Thank you for sharing your project. I'm sure your family will treasure it in the years to come.

  • @christelblue You have the right way of thinking. If daily is to much then try weekly or monthly. As for your Dec. Daily, I did one last year and didn't even start it until the middle of Jan. I am always such a procrastinator....good luck on your DD, you will get it done and be so happy that you did :)

  • Great P365 Tracy!

  • @yoliebean Thank you so much :)

  • WOW this is awesome! If I had known about this idea I would of started it on my sons birthday which is January 1st! I love how this came out and its gonna be treasured forever. By the way, what kind of album were you able to keep that many page protectors in and what kind of page protectors are those? Thanks for sharing!

  • @Unheard03 Thank you so much for watching and commenting. As for the page protectors..this is just a photo album. I needed two to get all the inserts that I needed. I just took them out and put them in one album. The second album was damaged so I got it for a real cheap price...but all I wanted were the inserts (protectors) so that turned out perfectly.

If I was you and really wanted to do this, I would. You are only 22 days behind. You probably have many photos of his BDay. Go for it

  • I had been thinking about doing this and your video is just what I needed to et me started. I love the type of album you used. I'm going to look for one like it at the store today.

  • @chungis61804 Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I am so glad I have inspired you to try this. I just used a photo album, nothing special. It is a 12x12 size....but it doesn't have to be :)

  • Awesome!!! How dedicated, congrats. BTW, what type of pens do you use, regular ballpoint pens seem to bleed-out after time.

    TFS!!

    ;0)

    Norma

  • @HolyScrap123 Thank you Norma. I use the thin sharpie markers for my journaling.

  • Thank you for sharing this! What a great job you've done! Your daughter and someday her children will enjoy your efforts for many years to come!

  • @mccplg Thank you so much. I have 3 daughters, they can fight over which albums they get when I'm gone, lol.

  • What an awesome accomplishment!

  • @maryjanew20 Thank you. I will be doing another one this year :)

  • what a fantastic keepsake for your family....I still have my mom's journals from forty plus yrs ago....really nice to have especially since I lost my mom last year....

  • @jppeggy2 So sorry for your loss.

I have journals....but I am not sure I want my girls to read them when I am gone, lol. I wasn't as good as they are, lol.

It is so special to have something that personal of your moms. I have some of my mom's recipes in her handwriting. I wish I had something of my grandparents.

  • what a fantastic keepsake for your family....I still have my mom's journals from 40+ yrs ago....really nice to have especially since I lost my mom last year....

  • It looks great!! Im doing project life this year for the first time :) So far, I have managed to keep up ;) but we'll see how long that lasts for...

  • What a great idea and so nice for your family to have a diary to look back in. Love ti :-) Tfs.

    Hugs, Anne

  • @xannero1 Thank you Anne. I have forgot some things that had happened this year already. But remembered when I read the journaling I had.

  • Congratulations on finishing it. It will be a nice memory. TFS - Lynn

  • @Scrapitydoodah Thank you so much Lynn. I love that it is a year of our lives all in one book :)

  • I wish I would have learned about this before january 1st

  • @KustomFu You can still do it if you really want to. I haven't started on mine for this year yet.

Take some photos and journal about the photos, you can do it :)

  • @KustomFu I know right? Damn... This year is a very key year.... you know 2012....

  • This is wonderful.I watched when you first started the project, congratulations on finishing, I was inspired by you so I also started by doing a mini album, still not through, don't want to stop and it's so much fun.I have 13 sisters,10 brother-in-laws and 37 nephews,3 grandchildren, so this might turn into a humongous project, heeeheee. TFS&I

  • @usaearthling Wow 13 sisters!! You will be making minis for a long time if you make one for each of them :)

I would love for you to let me know when you have it completed :)

  • Really cool. But, I am not that disclipined and I don't do much of interest to be able to journal something every day. Thanks for sharing :-)

  • @SleepyMushroomFairy Thank you so much for watching and commenting. As for not doing to much of interest, neither are we :) It may not seem very interesting right now, but 10 yrs from now, my girls can say remember when mom burnt those cookies, lol.

  • That is an awesome idea I love it!! Yes it does encourage me, thanks!

  • @happyscrappingirl Thank you so much for watching and commenting :)

  • bravo my friend. good for you! I am so proud of you and what a treasure that book is. I have my one resolution and I need to concentrate on that but taking a picture every day would be wonderful to do. I might actually adopt that later on. Have a wonderful weekend girl. relax and have fun and bravo to wayne for cooking dinner! LOL Hugs,Pea

  • @whimsicalendeavors Thanks Pea :) I am so glad that I caught up and finished it. I am going to do it again this year.

As for Wayne cooking dinner, I gave him the day off today and ordered pizza and pasta, lol

  • @TracysTreasures24 LOL you are funny my friend. Need to give me a quick jingle tomorrow. hugs, pea

  • You have made a real treasure for your family. When your children, and later your grandchildren, look at this book, they will have a true feeling of family and connectedness. I know they appreciate it now, but they will truly value it when they grow older. Holly M.

  • @springhillpaperplay Thank you so much Holly :) I agree, how awesome would it be to have something like this from our parents or grand parents.

  • wonderful!!! Very inspiring! Thankyou

  • @KISW1980 Thank you so much :) I am so happy I could inspire you :)

  • What an extraordinary commitment!!

  • @luvtiatt Commitment or crazy....I think there is a fine line, lol.

  • I just started mine. The recollections pocket page protectors are 10 for 4.99. I made my own as well. Not sure if I could take a pix a day but I'm at least getting some done!! Your album looks awesome. Tfs. Hugs

    Nancy

  • @Scrapping601 Thank you Nancy. I love that this album has black photo protectors. I found another album for this year, but can't find the refill anywhere :(

Some ladies do it weekly or monthly.

Doesn't matter how you do it. It will be a treasure for you and your family :)

  • I saw your video when you started the album and now see it complete is wonderful. Love it!!! How you put two pictures togheter for print ?????????

  • @mtmg31 Thank you so much :) It is like a collage. But with the home photo printer I have I click on the 2 up and I can chose 2 different pictures on one photo

  • This is really nice. I wish I could do something like this. I just never take a lot of pictures. I'm trying to get better at doing it. Maybe someday I'll actually take the time to do this. I think it would make a great family heriloom. TFS

  • @do4x4 Thank you Doreen. We take a lot of photos in this family. My 3 daughters and hubby are all photographers. I just have a point and shoot.

I used to get looks from my extended family about What I took photos of. Now they ask..are you going to take a picture of that, lol.

  • Oh my goodness this is wonderful. How do you print the pictures? I want to know more about the printer. You take a picture every day? Great idea!!! I do want to try. It will just be for me I am sure but fun. Thanks Tracy. I do want to know more about the printer.

  • @LindaLap Thank you so much Linda.

Yes I take a photo everyday. I sent you a message with a link to my blog about the personal printer I have been using.

  • What an incredible gift for your family. I so admire your ability to set goals and achieve them. You're such a special lady :).

  • @thecrabbycrafter Awww thank you Claudia, as are you :)

I have so many other goals I wish I could complete though ;)

  • Wow that is such a wonderful idea!!! I love it, I think that I will have to try it :) Thanks for sharing your wonderful project.

  • @thecraftnut32 Thank you :) You should try it...just don't get so far behind like I did :)

  • wow a lot of work... this is so cool but to much work for me.....

  • @nbreault1 Actually if you keep up with it, it isn't really that much work....I just kind of stopped in April and it was a lot of work to catch up.

  • Wow! Love it! Awesome! I just might use your ideas. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • @scrpbknmama69 So happy I could inspire you.

But this isn't my idea. I first learned about it from a photo site. But I thought I would add journaling to it as I love to journal. Then I learned about Becky Higgins, she has a kit for this. But I still wanted to do it my way....plus I had all the supplies :)

  • Oh Tracy, I love this project and the whole idea of it! What a wonderful treasure to have. I wish I had known on the first day of the year - I feel I'm too far behind to start now, but, I can think about what I could include for the first part of the year. Kudos to you! It's a wonderful idea and keepsake! TFS

    Hugs, Pam xxx

  • @theoneandonlygrand Thank you so much Pam. I don't think it is to late to start. I am doing it again this year and haven't started either.

You could take some filler photos (if you don't have any so far this year) and just write about them. Like if you have something special your mom gave you....take a photo and write about it. You can do it :)

  • Great job!!! I can see how much you will treasure this in years to come...just the little things in life and also the big events. I love that you did all the journaling in your own handwriting. Very inspirational!

  • @scdevoe Thank you :) As much as I don't like my hand writing, I keep thinking how special it will be for my girls when I am gone. I would love to see my grandmothers handwriting, so I just keep that in mind.

  • Wow that is really a neat project! Like it a lot. Tfs :)

  • @Sandrishify Thank you so much
