  • Hey Jocky. I guess if the removeable plastic engine cover says 2.8 it must be so huh?

  • u guys look cute. matchin and all. and i love how the highest rated comment says " when you drive a japanese car, don't call an american-made car a ricer, it just makes you look stupid." ... LMFAO ... youve got to be kiddin me

  • @TurboVW581 wow, you are cool

  • the intrigue would of had him if it wasnt for the late start

  • wait yo what's this song.

  • Holy fuck...The owner of these cars should be shot. Someone sent me this link just so I could comment on how gay you guys are and now I see why they did it.

  • damn why are there so many fukkin intrigue haters... all yaw sound lik some str8 pussies please shut da fukk up quit hatin all da fukkn time...

  • @1: it is a 2.8 vr6 not a 2.9 you fucking dipshit, can't you read the engine cover????????

  • @jocky102: actually it could have been bored out to a 2.9 liter and the motor cover did not actually say the 2.8 dohc on it from what i saw in the video. stop calling people dipshit you make yourself look bad.

  • @BTBAM13 until the title of the video is 2.9 vr6 golf a COULD HAVE BEEN bored out to a 2.9 isnt good enough

  • @jocky102 but the title is not 2.9 vr6 its intrigue vs. vr6 so i dont really see what your getting at, all i was saying was it very well could have been a 2.9

  • @BTBAM13 i know what the title is....... so its a 2.8 until proved otherwise thats all i'm saying

  • Holy Damn!!! I want to trade my Intrigue for yours!!!

  • *this

also, i assume the oldsmobile won, since it started off the line first, and seemed to pull ahead further down the track, but this is impossible to determine because of the camera angle..

  • @sexmebre the golf took off the line first and pulled on the oldsmobile the whole track idk if you think the intrigue is a hatch but its not.

  • kind of pointless... no idea who wont his.

  • Question....What's the top speed on this baby?

  • is the golf portuguese? i think the license that says golf is portuguese

  • i agree with jrmix 06. if you don't love your car like we do, shut up, don't talk bad about our cars, cause they're better than yours! oh, and i've raced a camry in my intrigue, guess what, i embarassed him. and cosmicpope, when you drive a japanese car, don't call an american-made car a ricer, it just makes you look stupid.

  • why does everyone want to hate all the time if you dont like making your car custom or ricing it like you like to say then shut the fuck up and you dont say shit dont rice your car but shut the fuck up not everyone likes to fuck with the engine of car thats alot of money that people dont have so please if u dont like to put bodykits on your car dont say shit about someone elses shit dont be a hater do you and let everyone else do themselves

  • yeah im pretty sure the 1998 Olds Intrigues had pushrod v6s (3.8 L) but 0-60 in 16 seconds is slower than a freaking smart car. my grandpas 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham does it in 8.3 seconds. and it ways almost 6,000 pounds

  • 16 seconds? What?

  • i was responding to somebody who's screenname was 0to60in16. i was saying that he was right that the Olds Intrigue with the 3.8 L V6 is a pushrod. the 16 seconds thing came from his screenname. 2 separate thoughts. didn't really make that clear

  • not too bad sound from the olds what exhust is on it

  • This comment is in response to 0to60in60seconds. Sir, u are the nimrod for thinking that 16 seconds is impressive. And for thinking its a pushrod V6. I drive a 2000 intrigue 3.8. 0to60 in 9 seconds, and it is a double overhead cam engine, governor kicks in at 130, meaning it is capable of much more. In defense of my fellow intrigue drivers, the intrigue is one of the very few cars that still possess "American Muscle".

  • who the fuck are you kidding its a fucking olds, my fucking camry would rape this ricer piece of shit

  • Comment removed

  • In response to Ms. cosmicpope55, you drive a Toyota, and you're calling an Olds a 'ricer'? I think you should do a little check on that! Plus, My household has a 2004 Camry and a 2000 Intrigue, and the Intrigue rapes the little asian piece of shit. Unless you put much of ur hard earned dollars into boosting up ur little rice bowl

  • no im calling you a ricer because of that RE-DAMN-DICULOVE body kit its fucking retarded i actually have a STOCK V6 camry and i KNOW theres no way in hell a fucking intrigue will beat it i keep up with non turbod supras and 300Z's man and i know theres no way an intrigue is NEAR as fast as mine

  • Lol I admit, the bodykit was hillarious, cuz I think of how much time those dudes put into customizing it since there is no bodykit made for an intrigue. But about the 350z thing you said... So you're telling me your stock V6 Camry (dohc i presume), with a max factory rating of 225 bhp, keeps up with a 306 bhp sports cars. The only way I see that is if the driver of the 350z was one of those midlife crisis old men.

  • He is talking about the 300Z... which was rated at 222 without turbo (dohc) and with turbo 280-300 hp.

I could see it keeping up with a non turbo (not that it would win ever)

(I think the body kit looks ok on that intrigue, its different)

  • come down to gateway in stlouis this yer,i will have my 96 olds ciera 3100,just got her done, and dynoed at 253hp-233trq at the wheels, and at 3,100 lbs, should be quite interesting.does anyone want to play, bring that ricer shit on!

  • if i do that i will beat your ass and steal your car and drive it into a lake so no one else has to see that ricer piece of shit ever again you fucking redneck RICER!

  • WTF are you talking about? fucking weirdo! and dont P.M. and then block me like a lil bitch

  • unless u did some mods on ur camry the intrigue and camry were pretty much tied for 1998--the camry just had a slightly more refined engine

  • 1998 Intrigue: Buick 3.8L pushrod V6

    1999-2002 Intrigue: 3.5L DOHC 24 valve Oldsmobile exclusive V6

  • P.S.S. that could have been a tighter race if you all could read a tree.

  • i have a 2000 olds intrigue gls 3.5 and i was wondering if there are any power add ons available for the 3.5 because all i see is parts for the 3.8

  • Check it out, the best thing to do with any GM 4 cylinder motor is to breathe it in and out really good. Keeping in mind to keep it a single exhaust, get a Magnaflow catalytic converter for it, then run two glasspacks with all 2" piping, then just have two 1 and a quarter-inch pipes coming out the back. With the intake, you want a straight cone filter at the throttle intake (the metal ring the breather tube plugs into) with the sensor reattached at the base of the filter. It should go then.

  • No one asked about 4 bangers.. Both these cars have a V6... You sound like a ricer your hints would just make the car sound like crap annoying mostly..

  • Wow, not the old straight-4's from GM! At an idle the carbureted ones sounded pretty damn decent. I had an '84 Chevy S-10 with a 2.3 in it, damn thing sounded like a small V8 at idle. I ain't no ricer, my friend. I love V6's and V8's as much as the next serious offroader. I live in Oregon, for chrissake, I'm a born wheeler.

  • Well In that case your right.. There is a big difference between the carbureted and Fuel injection of the New 4's.

  • Thank you. Some people don't know how to build a good exhaust/air filter combo.

  • not any that i no of but i wouldn't do it with the 3.5. they turned out to be incredibly unreliable engines. ur just gonna destroy it faster

  • do you know you can put a cartuning turbo in the intrigue you might be able to get it to around 600hp has the same engine as a grand prix monte calo regal and such go to pfyc and check out eh turbo you can stick parts in from the grand prix the chasis is diffrent but you might have to mod it and it will work

  • them cars were real fast,(sarcasim)about as fast as the speed of smell...

  • the golf has some potential but the olds is just a waste of money

  • The 3.8 in the Olds is one of the cheapest engines to mod and respond to boost very well. So, your statement is backwards.

  • whats the name of the song in the beginning

  • My 3.5 Intrigue does it for me

  • matricula tuga??

  • NICE!!

  • KC550 The 3.8 is only a single overhead cam. funny thing.. My mom has a 1998 Olds intrigue with a 3.8L.. I ended up buying a 1999 GLS with the 3.5 DoHC, the 3.5 is quite a bit faster but in general I think its a terrible engine, the first owner of my car must've beat the piss out of it cause once i bought the car the engine didn't last a month, 140,000k.

  • lol are you sure it was because he beat the shit out of the engine or because it is american built.. here i go opening myself up for abuse lol, i drive a vr6 and prefer German cars

  • you are a fucking nimrod that knows nothing about cars or engines

the 3.8 is not a single overhead cam engine

it is an old a a fucking dinosaur pushrod 12valve v6

nothing specail and nothing fast this dude is just like you a fucking ricer that knows nothing

  • holy hunks of shit...

  • Ya nice looking rides guys, I'm looking into buying a 3.5 intrigue. I can hear the rev limiter kick in lol, oh and I dont get it, why does olds have a 3.8L that has 195hp and 220trq while the 3.5L has 215hp and 230trq???

  • Oldsmobile has a 3.5L that makes more power because it is actually a chopped version of the L47 Northstar V8 that was used in the Aurora. Some lovingly call it the "Shortstar".

The 3.8L is, I'm pretty sure in assuming, just a slightly modded version of GM's long-standing (and probably more dependable), 3800 Series II. If it were me, I'd skip the extra 20hp and find a 3.8L model Intrigue, because if the 3.5L is anywhere near as twitchy as my L47 V8, it can be frightening. Fast while they last.

  • My grandparents had a 97 Northstar Caddi, oh what a car that was... the engine that is. The rest I hated. Oh Well!

  • this is really close to call but the golf did get an early start and the oldsmobile looked like it caught up well know the oldsmobile intrigue is a great car and after what knightsperformance does to it its awsome nice video

  • so the golf won, right?

  • too bad the vr has a hot air intake

  • this is absolutely amazing, where are you guys located?

  • we are in Toronto, Canada
