My taxes help people have POLICE protection, Libraries, fire departments, fix roads, a Military and a cool ass Post office for me to send packages to needy people around the world. I ask you, what is wrong with that? Absolutely nothing! The military has free Health Care for its soldiers AND Our country got fed-up with the wicked HMOs scheming people in broad daylight! Military should get free health care they put up there lives for you and me...there is a diff. with someone that may be killed saving us.. then you and me who have time to b&*^% on here .I think you need to look at some of the other place that have this "free Health care" they taxes are crazy. good friend of mine is in Canada waiting for a surgery she needs its free but she is number 14 on the list so she has to wait ....why don't we make better laws so HOMs have to play nice..

and on a side note I just got off the phone with my 72 old father and he is on your Gov. run health care and they just told him that they would not pay for some of the med the Doc wants him on..Cus they dont think it would realy help with the diagnosisso ( odds are that is spelled wrong) the Dr. gave him last year thank you Gov. free health care

I wonder why the President did not tell any stories like the one found right here on youtube under the title "A short course in brain surgery" about a man who came here from Canada and paid for health care because he was going to have to wait 4 MONTHS for an MRI because all of Canada has fewer MRI machines than any major American city. Why? The government beaurocracy says they are too expensive. If not for American health care he would have died. Socialized medicine is a failure we don't need.

I advocate a not-for-profit insurance program benefiting every citizen, so that we all are entitled to medical care with our chosen doctor paid for their work -- without profit-mongering accountants nixing making medical decisions.

Anyone wanting extra insurance for extra-special treatment can buy it on their own.

I read your post. I didn't ask you to support any argument. You have a myopic view on healthcare reform. Our government supports all kinds of industries that affect our health. The government should support equal access to healthcare for everyone. Yes, healthcare is a right of all the people, not just a few. I don't equate socialism to communism. Start thinking community and a government of the people, by the people. We will always have taxes, so let's use them for humanitarian causes.
