I played this organ back in 1982. It was the most fantasic organ I have ever heard and played !!!! Wonderful sound. The curators ( Sebire and Glandez) were very kind to let me play for a very long time. I played Widor's Toccata from 5th symphony. They pulled out all the stops for me !!! This tidal wave of thunder rolls down the church and comes back over you. It is mesmerizing. Thundering basses, brilliant reeds and mixtures. How could someone build such an organ ? Cavaille-Coll was a genious.
Nowadays organbuilders can't even stand in the shadow of cavaille-coll He is still unprecedented even some organsbuilders like van den heuvel in the netherlands who proclaimed he build like cavaille-coll doesn't come even in the neighbourhood.
This music sounds loosely based upon Benediction-Nuptiale by Saint-Saens, awsome playing well done! i am an organist myself, so truly appreciate the talent involved and difficulty in such pieces. I have played for 4 years, am 16 now and have recently learned Widor's Toccata. Hi to all my fellow organists out there
I've had the pleasure of studying Improvisation with both Sophie-Veronique and Daniel Roth and they are equally amazing. I love this organ tremendously and miss it horribly! They both play with such confidence, yet with pure finesse!
Wonderful improvisation from a supreme virtuoso. I had the honour of playing this magnificent instrument for the 6pm Sunday mass in July 2005 at the invitition of Sophie-Veronique Cauchefer-Choplin, Daniel Roth's co-organist. Thanks for sharing and have a look at my video.
Oh, I just LOVE Daniel Roth, and this glorious instrument. It's hard to beat Daniel Roth on a Cavaille-Coll!

I think its awful if its during communion then why is he having people up into the organ loft, its not a bloody museum.

He opens the loft to people after communion to demonstrate on one of the finest instruments in the world.

I agree. the sound seems to resonate much better. I especially love playing the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor when I'm alone.

I wish I could be a butterfly sitting on your shoulder when you do this. I promise I'll be quiet and won't disturb you.

i hate when ppl stand over my shoulder and watch me play. my favorite is to play in a big empty dark church.

Me Too! But I actually play in a medium size dark church.

Superb musicianship & bodily control, unlike Ronan Murray, who looks like he's having some sort of fit at the console.
