Hi there! I'm from Oregon and had to view a Persuasive Speech for my SP 111 course. I chose yours. I thought you did a pretty good job of projecting your voice, making eye contact, and your rate was nice. My biggest suggestion would be to work on adding more transition words or phrases between topics instead of just saying "Juice", etc to introduce a topic. Thanks for posting your speech online for everyone to view and learn from.
A lot of us in the DEEP South just call it a Coke...even if it's a Pepsi, Sprite, 7-up...makes no difference..we'd probably still call it coke any how...LOL!! BTW..we were told to watch this as an assignment for our public speaking class :)
my friend down here whos from michigan refuses to call it anything other than pop. good speeches, i have one due in a couple hours which i need to start so... thanks for the inspiration.
lucky jerk, you wrote this seven months ago so your done with yours, i have one due tomoro and im getting nervous just watching these speeches on youtube =[ damn i hate these things.
I am a Junior at Abilene High School, in Kansas. I am taking this night class public speaking thing for college credit. I found this by searching for "Very Good Speach" on the youtube search engine. =P
You did quite well, by the way. Much better than I could do. I am very nervous whenever I do any sort of speaking.
Pop! Cute! I didn't know what the speech would be about, I was looking for a speech to critique for my speech class. In texas we just call it soda. You might want to consider using regional slang in speeches, but here in texas it would be a good intro. Everyone would think that it's cute.
Wow, two people in one day wanting to critique my speech, very cool! Yeah, we always call it pop up here in Michigan. I thought I mentioned soda once or twice, sorry about the confusion!
speech is garbage

Yeah, and it's Pop in Michigan. Deal with it. I honestly don't see why it's such an issue.

Lol, yeah at first I was like "pop?" but then I saw this comment and I understood. (I'm from the DC area).
Other than that little confusion, this is good!

It's not an issue. It's just funny that we all call it different things. Good subject for a persuasive speech by the way.

Are you conveying that all sugar drinks are nefarious to the body or just soda "pop"?
