@philthy I'm thinking about twin turboing my g35 but I unno I heard a single turbo is more thermally efficient. But then again I should probably focus on getting better pistons and camshafts right to hold the power?
@xEmerzon well for twin turbo charge nope... theres a ton of kits that u can buy thats pretty much plug and play typa kits... usually nt even cutting required 2 install it...
Cool video and good looking car, but I just gotta say one thing. Slow dow the slide show. I could barely see all of one picture before the next one was rolling in.
should of swapped a rb26dett since you obviously have money. not hating just think you could do more with it. nice setup though. even a rb25det would be better. why is the car two colors?
@muscle2tuner Why is a rb26dett better? The VQ is a great engine and it has more displacement so it will have more torque and more hp with forced induction.
i have a quick question im not familair with Twin turbos so is each header connecter to a turbo? and when having 2 turbos can your run lower psi on the turbos yet get more power due to the higher air flow?
is 500 hp safe for a daily setup on one of these cars im looking at a couple different cars/ engines and my goal is 500hp daily driver pavement pounder
I have an automatic transmission 2007 G35 Coupe, would it be possible to install single or twin turbo on it? Even if it is, would it mess it up because it isnt manual ?
if its alright to ask, can you tell me how much the cost of all the work was? i want to get a g35 and wanna put work on it so i kinda wanna know how much money im gonna need to go TT
Bad ass vid. But the cost of all this plus the price of a twin turbo kit vs the price of an RB26DETT engine swap.... which is better? You've pretty much maximized the potential of the engine while the RB26 has almost endless possibilities.
Not hating whatsoever, just curious as to what my next move should be.
RB26 is a great motor, but it doesn't produce the low/mid trq that the VQ does... Coming off corners in the timeattack races it makes a huge difference and one of the reason why the car has been so successful racing...
By now im sure you have seen Sound Performance videos of their 350Z making over 1000ho to the wheels, on a stock drive train. The VQ motor has potential, why do you think nissan retired the RB??? RB26 weak point is the oiling and how they designed it. An after market oil pump will fix that problem.
There really isn't enough stars to vote for this complete build up vid!!! Much respect and sweet build!!! This had to kill you in the pockets big time but the outcome is so worth it!! If you have the bank for a build like this, go for it!!! A fine tuned and boosted VQ is freak'n sweet any damn day of the week!!! 5*'s
My neighbor has almost the exact same set up on his G35, he built the entire thing by himself and he's putting down a power curve like that but i think has 650rwhp. The thing is, I don't remember his G pulling like that above 100mph. sick car man, very sick.
I smoothed the ports up on my old chevy BB 402 and a little trick is to take the intake gasket and use it to match the heads to the intake ports. put it in place and a light coat of paint to overspray it to show what needs to be removed ,both the heads and manifold ports. But i'am sure you all know this. Great job on the G35, thanks for sharing the video.
i cant remember the exact number, but if an engine is rated at 300hp and goes into a manual and automatic, something like 20% of the hp is lost to the wheels with an automatic (240hp). and torque is needed for drifting and i dont think anyones rolling with an automatic, so i dont think so man lol
I don't want to sound like a dick. But i build transmissions. The reason they don't "roll with automatics" when drifting is because automatics won't hold a gear unless it uses full manual 1 2 3 4 and 5. Drag teams use automatics because they handle more torque and are more consistent than the human manual shift driver. How many 1500+ hp cars have you seen with a manual gear box?
G35 Automatic transmissions can't hold a LOT of power, so I wouldn't see it being ideal if you're going to pass like 450WHP. But I get what you're saying, people with like 8 second cars are running 3 Gear Automatic Transmissions or w/e, but it's cheaper for manuals to just replace the clutch if they're going to stick with like 500HP at most.
You guys are missing the point of my comment. I simply stated that automatics are easier to modify and WHEN modified handle more torque than a manual shift transmission. The reason i posted this comment in the first place was to answer an individual's question: "I have an automatic, is it capable of handling being twin turbocharged?" If you would like further explanation, feel free to message me and I'll gladly explain.
Most manual transmission use a fluid coupling and it loses more power as power goes up. They also can't put out as much torque as a manual transmission. The exception to this is dual clutch transmissions or electro-mechanical clutches like Ferrari uses.
why do ppl always insist on using body kits where they are not needed. g35 doesn't need a body kit...all it needs is to be lowered 1 1/2 inches, rims, and maybe a lip.
Looks like somebody gave a lot of attention that engine. Nice to see that somebody out there is building it right instead of just sticking TT in there and letting in run with everything else stock
those torque numbers are sick. I have a g sedan cause it was cheaper to buy but i would love to do that to a sedan talk about sleeper. I know you love killing the rice that is out there

Look dude my car is set for RWD Modified Racing also reason why I kept the car basically stock. I have my chassis tune for track (Stock Engine and Transmission). If you do surpass my car it wont be for long I bet on that. Secondly you car have everything done. I will love to try it, and see how good is your fully modified Infinity G35 which is a very nice car VS an 11 year old Supra, again stock. Well As said before tell me where you from?
pretty sure his g35 isnt "fully modded"..yea alot is done to it but i'm sure he could get much more power if he really wanted..and why don't you post a vid of your supra
Dude all that job, polish, increase displacement exhaust, fuel pump, blablabl just for 636bhp=572whp... pssss
Dude i have a 1997 Supra stock internal, stock Twin Turbos with couple of trick giving me 527whp.... 3.0L engine you have a 3.5... You need a better Machine Shop and a better mechanic...
I wasn't going for all out power and limiting factor is my turbo selection - the car was built for roadracing and time attack and it's been kicking butt in Modified RWD Class...
I invite you to bring your Supra out to an event and race me - I'll even turn off my boost controller and run my car @ 450whp... Until that day, keep your bench racing to yourself.

I have the issue of Turbo your car was in, and I just wanted to say nice job, that thing is beautiful inside and out, and it is so much nicer than the other G35 in there. Wish I had 730hp, haha.
The car primary build purpose is roadracing, and the gt28's are the perfect turbo for that application on this motor... Definitely leaving some top end power on the table for sure, but full boost @ 3200rpms is exactly what I was looking for...
does it even pass emissions?? lol. Anyways, that's a savage car, i'm gettin an 06 0or 07 so i'll be in a g35 in about a lil less than a year from now. 6 Speed of course.
i dont think the hp numbers are correct. for that much power it taking way to long to pull though that gear. i heard the BOV but i seriouslly doubt your running 16.5psi. the only logical thing would be if you changed your gears for your axle. but why would you do that?
god this shit is taking forever to load. but cool ride. did they bore and stroke the engine and/or blueprint it? i get like 2 seconds of vid for every 2 minutes waited. o yeah danielmunoz. fuck hondas. the civic has been out for how many decades and is still struggling to get 200hp down? pathetic. and to emphasize what bobsasleep said:
racing in a 9 second honda is like coming out of the closet.
you may suprise everyone at first, but in the end you're still gay
I have a question to ask to the pros that own a g35. I am now beginning to fix up my 05 G35 coupe. I want to spend about $1000 on little things to have more performance. I am starting with Air intake. What brand do you recommend for max performance? Then what next?

gt28r's breathe a little wheezy on the top side.
You should make me happy and slap some t88's in there :D haha
JgHaverty 4 years ago
The car primary build purpose is roadracing, and the gt28's are the perfect turbo for that application on this motor... Definitely leaving some top end power on the table for sure, but full boost @ 3200rpms is exactly what I was looking for...
philithy 4 years ago
hay where can you buy there garret turbos and whats the base price and the highest price for these turbos
spdkilzasoundsuck 4 years ago

does ur car weigh 10tonne ? cuz your car shud rocket off running 16.5psi on twin turbos
Froogle121 4 years ago
Not 10 tons, but at the time this vid was taken about 3600lbs plus myself and passenger, another 350 pounds, so arpx 4000lbs...
60-120+mph in 7 seconds, yeah it's real slow...
now go back to google racing boys..
philithy 4 years ago
tbh that is slow, my pals punto gt 1.3 turbo does 0-120 in 8.5 secs :/

Rage Against The Machine !!!!!! yes!
waterloo794 4 years ago
i dont think the hp numbers are correct. for that much power it taking way to long to pull though that gear. i heard the BOV but i seriouslly doubt your running 16.5psi. the only logical thing would be if you changed your gears for your axle. but why would you do that?
masterkenlove 4 years ago
yea, those numbers don't seem right.
Nanometer45 4 years ago
I think you're gunna need a bigger gauge, buddy. ^_^

god this shit is taking forever to load. but cool ride. did they bore and stroke the engine and/or blueprint it? i get like 2 seconds of vid for every 2 minutes waited. o yeah danielmunoz. fuck hondas. the civic has been out for how many decades and is still struggling to get 200hp down? pathetic. and to emphasize what bobsasleep said:
racing in a 9 second honda is like coming out of the closet.
you may suprise everyone at first, but in the end you're still gay

I have a question to ask to the pros that own a g35. I am now beginning to fix up my 05 G35 coupe. I want to spend about $1000 on little things to have more performance. I am starting with Air intake. What brand do you recommend for max performance? Then what next?
