Half Dome is amazing, and even if you're scared, you should still do it. Im only 13 and ive been up it twice, once around noon and once at sunset. The sunset from up there is gorgeous. It was a challenging hike but worth it.

Isn't it amazing how many people quit at the cables. In 2003 I trained for a year and made it up to the top from Happy Isles in 3hrs 57mins. No line at the cables! I was 55 years old. Going to do it again, next time staying in Little Yosemite Campground.

I love your video of half dome.. I have watched it so many times.. the song adds so much to it. I went to yosemite for the first time about a week ago for my one year anniv. we went on a few small hikes and did not have enough time or am not quite ready for the journey of half dome.. I wish i could be ready to go back in a few weeks before the falls dry up to much.. is everything dry in sept. I have heard it is :( anyhow.. great job :)

I would suggest hiking half dome in the last week in May or the first two weeks in June, because there should be less people and theirs more water rushing over the falls, I don't think its as attractive with only a trickle of water in the late summer months or Sep. or Oct.

I plan on doing Half Dome this year and I was wondering when I should go? I've done Mt San Jacinto (beautiful) and Mt Whitney this past Sept ( I made it too- first attempt!) and plan on doing it again. I guess I'm wondering about the weather up there since it will be such a long drive for me (I live in San Diego).

Great job on the video. I've got to make one about our hike up Yosemite Falls. It wasn't as tough as your hike, but we were all first time hikers, and it was our first time in Yosemite, so it was difficult (and rewarding)for us. We all want to try half dome on our next trip. Keep up the good work.

I agree. Nice work on the video. I'm going to Yosemite next month & I've only been a few times in my life. But I don't think I could make it up Half Dome. Looks way to scary for me. I viewed another video where a man & his kids used tether lines to attach themselves to the cables... smart. My kind of thinking.

You know, I don't find it to be all that intense anymore. So wipe that look off of your face and try climbing some of the other routes to the top. A few come to mind: Snake Dike, The Regular NW Route, and The Direct NW Face. Then, buddy, you will come to understand what you are truely made of.  Flesh and bone my friend! Flesh and bone!
