You could have all the talent in the world, but if you aren't personable, well-groomed, etc., your prospects for financial enhancement diminish proportionally. But don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking his choice and perhaps he has put a greater premium on freedom than money which is certainly understandable. I just hate to see the guy suffering on the street when he obviously has the chops to go pro.

Unbelievable. The music charts today is full of computer generated crap where the artists get paid millions with minimal talent. Here's a guy busking on the streets probably with a few dollars to his name... and he has truly mastered his instrument. He could probably play these songs backwards if you asked him. This guy should be performing with Al Di Meola & Chick Corea. AMAZING.

@AlexRider001 Wasn't meant to be abusive. Most of the stuff in the charts is done on computers, anything that is played live is synced in, edited and altered later. Vocals are compressed and any notes that are slightly off are put into tune, again by technology. FWIW, I have worked in the studio with artists such as Vanessa Mae and spent 4yrs in college studying music theory & technology. Time and effort is not the same as being a musical genius, no way. If you think that then you are deluded.

I wasn't equating hard work with extreme talent, just saying that such talent is frequently a feature of purely electronic producers (that's my opinion, and I'll give you that it's highly debatable :P).

I have little to no admiration or respect for most chart music myself, but you have to admit that the production value on those kind of tracks is usually extraordinary (it has to be, after all).
