I remember watching this live. The worst part about it.....NO PENALTY!!! I mean wtf? The ref tried to say that the goal negated the penalty but the puck was already in the net and this was vicious as hell, and Kariya was out for the rest of the season, missed the Olympics, and a good chunk of the next season with post-concussion syndrome. One of the all-time worst cheapshots.

That's my whole point. Kariya had no right to try and score that goal. Suter did the right thing by making him pay for the wrong he committed. In my opinion Suter didn't do enough damage. Apparently since then Kariya didn't get the message, he continues to score and I think it's time for someone once again to show him that he just doesn't have the right. Shame on Kariya!

I remember watching this live. The worst part about it.....NO PENALTY!!! I mean wtf? The ref tried to say that the goal negated the penalty but the puck was already in the net and this was vicious as hell, and Kariya was out for the rest of the season, missed the Olympics, and a good chunk of the next season with post-concussion syndrome. One of the all-time worst cheapshots.
