I can't remember, but I don't think that's true. A reserve tank (I think there are maybe 3 or 4 in the game) is a full energy tank, and can be filled in the same way a regular energy tank is. The catch, though, is that the player has to open up the menu and pump energy from the energy tank into their total life... I don't believe this is done automatically.
You can set the reserves to either Auto or Manual. It's best to do it manually, since during the time where your tanks refill automatically you can still take damage.
For the beam shield against Phantoon and Botwoon (select power bombs, charge a shot with only charge and one other beam equipped. With wave it does 4 super missiles worth of damage if all the shots hit)
Nevermind, he didn't use it on Phantoon, but he does use it on Botwoon. You should always unequip the Spazer when fighting Phantoon though, since it makes him counter-attack.
uhh, a cliffhanger, will he get the Energy Tank or not? See it in the next Episode of Super Metroid TAS!

what is a reserve tank?
Headache100000 4 years ago
They are just tanks that fill up your health if it reaches zero if they are filled. They are pretty much extra energy tanks.
