  • i like it :) its nice... this year did you enter? id love to do an audition for NCDS. but its so expensive ... (sorry im portuguese and my english is so bad... lol).

  • I think that if you timed it a little better so your right in line with the beat that would make it look a ton better...also try pointing your toes and straightening your legs when you do kicks or other stricks with that, you will do great. good luck!

  • Thirdly make more use of your arms... you have strong arms, they and especially in a vest u make a statement with them right, but you need to use them in more than just a 2D way, i was seeing some elements of waving and even a little bit of popping, so if u have that articulation make full use of it man, you dont need to wack a jump in or kick a leg and spin or whatever when u can do that with ur arm... just make it the stimuli for your piece, make ur arms the focus! Goodluck in april!

  • @kynam Cheers man. I also realised that I shouldnt add things for the sake of adding them. Ive already chosen my song and I think I am really feeling it. Its still quite a commercial song, Bruno Mars - Grenade. Really appreciate your comments man. I will be uploading my new choreo when it's finished and cleaned, Ide like it if you could give me feedback on that too :p Cheers!! :D

  • Secondly don't add tricks and jumps for the sake of adding them if it will ruin what your setting up, by all means use them, i myself love them but you have to find it organic to do, some of the best choreographic things I've done has been from cutting out jumps etc that just didnt feel right, but you also have to be strict with yourself, you need to look at them and really clean them, some jumps from this piece would be so much nicer if you just spent a little bit more energy finishing them!...

  • Some things to work on for your next audition piece...

Try and break away from commercial songs (get spotify or something) search for composers you know little of or nothing and choose the song for how it sounds, that's a more truthful way of finding music that's emotional inspiring, and it will show more... not always the case but I think it will work with you, and to help u break the bad habit of choosing music because of your attachment to it and assuming people will be on the same page...

  • I dont think you should of used a song that was so recognisable, takes away from the actual dance and at certain points your dance was based on your song rather than an inner feeling.. Maybe you cut down on the amount of hand stands, cartwheels you do also, my favourite part was the start, i just think sometimes simplicity is best way forward so people who are auditioning you can understand what your actually dancing about.. well done though hopefully you'll get in next time!.

  • @MrGoodwin12 Thanks for the feedback, Im auditioning again in April, but i have yet to find a song to choreograph to. Ive been listenning to songs like, Set Fire to the Third Bar by Snow Patrol and The Scientist by Coldplay. These kind of songs I will be able to add alot more emotion to.

  • I went to Northern in 1989 and left i 1993. The standard when you auditioned must have been very high. I think that was a grate audition solo...Knock them dead when you go back...Good Luck!
