@buli2459 Even if its not hardcore its still a 2 hit kill across the map, and that's often needed for snipers, the shotguns should not be on par with snipers. I realise it is closer to real life, but it is still a game, and this is an aspect of the game that at times can be unfair and frustrating, I don't think they should be like Call of Duty shotguns, they're ridiculous, but in my opinion they should be less powerful over range.

Battlefield 3 will be a sequel to Battlefield 2, not Bad Company 2. So no, you can't truly make assumptions on this game based on the current titles, it has much more in common to BF2.
@ProMajtas I wouldn't rely on BC2 to determine what BF3 will be like, I believe that BF3 will be more "realistic" where it takes less bullets to kill and gameplay will be more life like.
If you've ever played BFBC1, the bullets taken to kill were very high.

I don't understand why there are only a few people who use the shotty when they have access to magnum ammunition and 12 gauge slugs. The loadout totally annihilates all. The first time I encountered a neostead with slugs I thought someone was fucking shooting me with a sniper rifle. I had no idea what a neostead was and picked up his loadout and realized it was a goddamn shotgun.

@OOIEatte In real life you have less than 10% chance of surviving 2 bullets to the chest.
It takes usually more than 4 bullets to the chest to kill someone in normal mode, 2 in hardcore. In real life you won't survive a bullet from a bolt-action sniper rifle to the chest. In normal mode I get hitmarkers when the bullet hits the enemy to the head, in hardcore I always get the kill, which is more realistic. Hardcore mode is supposed to be the more realistic one, DICE said it was like that.
That is why our soldiers wear freakin bullet PROOF vests. though, it doesn't really help against FMJ, which is standard for most militaries. Though against insurgents and the like its fine cus they can't afford fmj, so their guns gotta get closer or poor more fire into one spot on the armor. Besides, you got a lotta ammo and stuff hangin from your chest IRL, that shit acts like armor too, though getting your mags shot-up'd still suck.
@midgetydeath A normal Kevlar is pretty decent for a bullet proof vest, even though a bullet from M60 can penetrate it it shot in a corrent angle. But dragonskin, man, that's the future of bullet proof vests.
@midgetydeath FMJ doesn't increase penetration, its just a copper cover on a lead bullet to stop the lead from deforming, improving accuracy so the bullet doesn't just go off into no where.

@Trashcanstudiosinc "well someones doesn't know how to have fun?" well someones doesn't know how to form a sentence in proper english too, so your opinion means very little to me. i have a lot of fun in games. i just see ways developers could make games better/more fun instead of cheap. i'm all for more quality in the programing instead of constantly dumbing down FPS's to a kiddy audience. you can still make it fun with actual balanced gameplay for adults too.

I don't understand why there are only a few people who use the shotty when they have access to magnum ammunition and 12 gauge slugs. The loadout totally annihilates all. The first time I encountered a neostead with slugs I thought someone was fucking shooting me with a sniper rifle. I had no idea what a neostead was and picked up his loadout and realized it was a goddamn shotgun.

@OOIEatte In real life you have less than 10% chance of surviving 2 bullets to the chest.
It takes usually more than 4 bullets to the chest to kill someone in normal mode, 2 in hardcore. In real life you won't survive a bullet from a bolt-action sniper rifle to the chest. In normal mode I get hitmarkers when the bullet hits the enemy to the head, in hardcore I always get the kill, which is more realistic. Hardcore mode is supposed to be the more realistic one, DICE said it was like that.

That is why our soldiers wear freakin bullet PROOF vests. though, it doesn't really help against FMJ, which is standard for most militaries. Though against insurgents and the like its fine cus they can't afford fmj, so their guns gotta get closer or poor more fire into one spot on the armor. Besides, you got a lotta ammo and stuff hangin from your chest IRL, that shit acts like armor too, though getting your mags shot-up'd still suck.

@midgetydeath A normal Kevlar is pretty decent for a bullet proof vest, even though a bullet from M60 can penetrate it it shot in a corrent angle. But dragonskin, man, that's the future of bullet proof vests.

@midgetydeath FMJ doesn't increase penetration, its just a copper cover on a lead bullet to stop the lead from deforming, improving accuracy so the bullet doesn't just go off into no where.
