Everyone's just bitching about Chris getting off time when he has to do a 7 stroke roll at 200+ bpm!!! I can't do that, and I'm betting most of you can't either. Besides, he's out there and you're at home at your computer, you have no room to talk. Chris is amazing!!!! \,,/ -_- \,,/
@letsago0 i was able to do that. then i broke my ankle and that has built tissue around the joint so i cant do the fast stuff anymore. it takes a long time to get it down.
it's cool, the mistake he makes in the beginning is the same one i always make with such bassdrum parts. because my feet have to move so fast at once, my hands speed up a little to. not that i even come close to adler but anyway. like the others sad, mistakes are human
I think it was pretty cool that the singer didn't call him out in front of everyone on an honest human mistake. I have heard of one person doing that(forget the band name). Wasn't cool, though.
I think the mistake is more of not being right with the metronome than a "skill" error, you can see him starting the metronome in the beginning and then looking at it in the intro beat as thinking "holy shit I missed one beat so I need to start the first verse right or I will fuck up the whole song" so that's why he checked into the metronome and volume a lot..in a show like this is easy to not hear properly the metronome or the PA so it's difficult to recover from failures, so cheers mr. Adler!
for god sake! we ALL are humans, we ALL make mistakes, our whole life is full of mistakes, so can we just enjoy one of the most talented drummers out there nowadays? who cares if he made a mistake? just get over it! yes, its true, he has a great reputation. That DOESNT mean that he cant make mistakes
i tried the adler 12" snare and thought it sounded horrible. they make it sound good in the albums because they use good engineers to get the right sound but without the studio trickery it sounds crap.
@thispagesux It sounds pretty sick right now and it's live being recorded through a shitty camera mic. I've seen them live and his snare sounded just like it does in the studio.
Wow, dude makes one screw up in one show and everyone flocks to put him down...guess he really intimidates some people ;] It's okay kids, go back to your Jonas Brothers and other "music".
Yeah, that's all he plays. Way to pay attention. You're a stupid faggot, go hang yourself for being a moron. I'm sure your favorite drummers are way better. I like how you go to a video and knock the guy. GO OUTSIDE YOU WEIRDO! You obviously haven't listened to much of his music.
Who said he is my "god". If you saw it on your suggested videos, I'm sure you knew what it was. You obviously haven't listened to anything else of his if you think that is how he drums. He is famous for breaking away from traditional metal drumming. Listen to Descending.
i don't think you can fuck up like he did in the beginning, and later on in the song, and be considered as good as this guy is considered. that said, hes a great drummer.
All drummers fuck up....even the best....watched a video of George Kollias dropping a stick when doing a clinic. Just saw a video yesterday of danny carey dropping a stick while playing rosetta stoned. Even the best of the best make mistakes.
@JustinShadows a drummer of his reputation shouldn't be messing up like that. his timekeeping also sucks. I don't have to outplay him to criticise him, that's probably the dumbest thing i've ever heard.
I didn't sidestep. His timekeeping sucked in that one instance. Regardless of reputation and skill ALL percussionists fuck up. The second slip up probably came from the mental scrambling he was probably doing because his confidence was bruised from the first fuck up. You have to also consider he didn't have professional training like most well renowned drummers. He also is a lefty playing on a righty set up. There are many factors to consider when it comes to performing, especially drums.
@JustinShadows the point is, his timekeeping in this vid is amateurish. i'm not going into any possible reasons because 1. i can't say anything about them, and 2. it doesn't matter. also, if his being a lefty were an issue i'm sure he could just swap his kit's handedness around. I'm pretty sure he gets to decide that for himself ;) Adler is a very good drummer, but i just don't think he can stand behind his reputation. which isn't even his fault.
@paucceri I think Chris Adler can stand behind his reputation because we all make mistakes..... Especially drummers who play whole Lamb Of God sets EVERY NIGHT on tour and makes mistakes from being tired from all that..... and the fact that error is just a part of being a human if you havent noticed. Neil Peart makes mistakes but no one says anything about that.
its probably muscle dude. His arms looked pretty cut in the most recent footage ive seen, and he talked about startin work out on th walk with me in hell dvd.
He used A Customs and had a classic Zildjian ride with a great tone. If you hear it on the BTP stuff, and New American Gospel, you'll fall in love with it.
There's some thing on the internet inwhich its like "Chris gave me his old Meinl and Zildjian cymbals" and whatnot.
thats such a tiny lil mistake u bearly notice lol. besides. Good musicians arent perfectionists cus perfectionists r NERDS lol

It's not the fact that he made a mistake, it's the fact that he recovered from it like nothing happened in front of thousands of people.
