Anyone who is idiotic and doesn't have the Stereo Mix check box: on the drop down menu click on your microphone, then select recording, then stereo mix.

XP all you do is go in control panel sounds then recording then right click the mic and click show disabled something then stereo mix and enable it. XP if you dont have it there then your going to have to download sht change values and all this crap it does not even work for me.

for the ones that don't have a stereo mix showing, try right clicking inside maybe the volume controls box and see if it gives you a drop down menu that says "show disabled devices". i have vista on my laptop and i had to do that just to be able to see stereo mix as an option. i'll look on my desktop which has xp when i get home to see if this was helpful at all :)

Ok, here it is. Either your soundcard dosent support stereo mix (most computers designed for xp dont), or you are missing the correct driver for it. If your computer's soundcard does support stereo mix, most likely you will have the driver for it. Custom built computers running xp are probably where you will find stereo mix. Manufactured xp computers DO NOT NORMALLY COME WITH SOUNDCARDS THAT SUPPORT STEREO MIX.

SigmaTel...I don't think it works with Realtek. I enabled Stereo Mix and still nothing. Apparently, a lot of manufacturers disable it due to press from the fucktards @ the RIAA.

you can record from the microphone, however if you breath too loudly or click a button it will hear that too. and it sounds crap.

you will probably have to add in audio seperately for a machinima
