@int3rl0per used where? They all were animated GIFs with unknown source. However, one explosion looked like the one Alcatraz used for their Odyssey demo, which was ripped from the original Star Wars movies. Anyhow, I had to tweak all of them by hand (more or less) to make them work in OSDM properly.
The Games Factory is, or rather, was a piece of "click together programs" by a company called Clickteam - they included a bunch of artwork in the package, which at least one of those explosions was a part of. Those graphics got used over and over and over again, to the point where they'd be the mark of unprofessionalism. :)
Yes, I did buy The Games Factory. No, it's not really possible to make good games with it.

@int3rl0per I bet that animation was the one from star wars, which was also used by Alcatraz on the Amiga in 1991 :)
