And in my opinion, Contador is still by far the best GC-contender when he's on form, which obviously wasn't the case this year and combined with the numerous crashes and lack of luck, it seemed to be impossible for him to take the Maillot Jaune. Contador's untouchable in the mountains when he's fit and he'll hopefully prove it once again in next years edition of this glorious race.

He tried to hide his doping. We will see what they decide ! Contador is definitly a rider who animates boring races but he isn't really credible.

They found traces of plastic in his blood indeed, but it has also previously been stated that it might as well be from the sugar drops they get injected with in order to recover optimally. Furthermore regardless of the amount of Clenbuterol that was found in his blood, it hardly seems fair that the outcome of such tests of the blood samples depends on what laboratory that tested the blood. I hereby rest my case.

So there is a difference... Contador said that he was ill before the Tour 2010 so he wasn't in the best shape. And I think he couldn't deal with a second place in the Tour so he had to take doping.... For me the case is clear.

Cadel had no reason to attack, as he was not the one that needed to gain time, thus him staying with the pack and defending. It's common sense that someone who doesn't possess half the explosivity as the likes of Contador will stay in the bunch, riding to defend his position. He rode the TdF the way he needed to and it proved to be very effective.

Granted, the Galibier performance was impressive, but turned out to be to no avail due to his absolutely horrid tt-skills.

Well, Tour de France is for the best of the best's and this goes for all stages in the race.

As long as he sucks at Time Trial he will never win the tour, this year the stages was VERY Schleck friendly, with only time trial, and a Team time trial which he just sat with his brother in the back and followed.

And to say that Contador couldn't follow him in the mountains? Lets see Schleck do the Giro and then Tour de France.

@McKc91 The question is will Contador be allowed to start next year. I think they have to bann him for two years. In all the other cases they decide in less than 2-3 month after the positive test but in the case of Contador they need more than a year ! I don't get this !

@Schlecktacular A short while ago, it became apparent that WADA had been considering to introduce a minimum limit for Clenbuterol, and as such they would make it impossible for Contador to be suspended, as the rules state that it had to count for Contador's case as well, eventhough the rule set was first to be implemented AFTER the pending 'conviction' of Contador. Mind you, WADA were also the ones that requested for the CAS-hearings to be postponed once again. We might get surprised :)
