THIS MASS IS SO MUCH MORE MUSICAL AT A FASTER TEMPO, JUST AS THEY ARE SINGING IT NOW. THEY JUST NEED A LITTLE HELP WITH CRESCENDOS & DECRESCENDOS. WELL DONE! LOVE THIS MASS! IT NEVER GETS OLD.
I would agree - a bit fast for my liking, and it's definitely the german pronunskiation. I am partial to the italian pronunciation because it seems a bit more melodic and easier to sing :). I played violin in a youth orchestra that traveled to Europe in 2003, we had to learn to sing and this was our first performed song! Trial by fire. That is why this is by far one of my favorite chorale compilations - it's gorgeous and it was our olive branch to our host cities in a pretty troubling time.
Great job! Our choir is singing the schubert mass as well. This is difficult with all the diction, but this choir did an amazing job! =D I loved your dynamics too! Overall good job!
my choir is also doing some schubert peices. this helps having the music here so i can hear what we are supposed to sound like. ty. you guys did a great job
Crucifixus should be pronounced with chi in the middle like the Chinese life force Chi. There's many more, but they would take up the whole box and I don't have enough characters left!
Not a bad rendition. Actually, they are probably correct in their diction. The pronounciation depends on the ethnicity and nationality of the composers.
Schubert would most likely have pronounced the German Latin "ci" sound closer to "tzi" as opposed to Verdi who would have used the Italian Latin "chi" sound.
As with most great music, a great deal is left to the knowledge and interpretation of the condutor.
BRAVO! Finally a group that makes the music play properly! If it were any slower it would be boring.

It could be a bit slower, but that isn't necessarily a problem.

It definitely should be slower. The Germanic Latin is probably the appropriate pronunciation but it can go either way (Roman or German).... ::shrug::

Well done, maybe just a bit too fast.
We are actually going to sing this with our school's choir in a few days here in Germany.
And, for the record: the pronounciation is good, it's a german piece and therefore the German latin articulation is perfectly right.
There's just a slight accent, but i guess that's just normal. :P

This should be LOADS slower. Its not a happy piece.
I always thought that it was pronounced, "CHelestsis," instead of "COlestis."
But, thats just me.

Very good performance, even if they have a little bit English pronunciation of Latin language (e.g. "virGine", cruCifixus").
Thanks for uploading it! =]
