their useing a "snorkel" to let air in to the engine's air intake, and their also useing an egsost hose to let the egsost out, i have one on my truck

@cDog8766 no the exhaust is underwater (its called a stack btw) it doesnt matter if your exhaust is under water as long as the engine is running because its pushing the exhaust out if he where to shut it off he would most likely hydro-lock the motor. as long as the intake is above water hes golden with the motor runnin

@kurtschats Hummers are designed to take on water inside the cabin to weigh it down and maintain tire traction. If everything was sealed, the hummer would loose traction. There are plugs on the bottom of the H1, allowing the driver to drain the cabin after fording deep water.

Only in Russie. More guts than brains (in this case at least). Not even the best breather hoses (for transmission/differentials) would keep the water out. Not sure I want to know how much restoration that was needed afterwards. Muddy water in electrical systems and and differentials.

It sounds as if its a tractor engine, diesel with some raw alterations.
