I liked how they combined elements of the first 3 originals and also showed Jason getting the mask and did not just make it all about the mommy story from original1st movie . Also seemed like Jason was more human than zombie. Seemed more like a sequel though than a remake in my opinion. And of course the hot babes in the movie.

Yeah! but I liked it because it was also done by the same guys who did TCM 2003 and I enjoyed that and 2006 TCM. For me the worst remake was the Zombie Halloweens. Now I prefer the classic Carpenter originals which should have actually ended that franchise at H20 but Resurrection was ok In my opinion. Also there is a new Nightmare On Elm Street. Curious about the backstory myself on that but not too sure about Robert Englund being replaced.

Agreed! I did not like the trashy, profanic, backstory of Zombie Halloween that humanized the character. Carpenter's unstoppable evil, force of nature, not much backstory was much better, in my opinion. Looks like NIghtmare remake is paying some hamges to the original but is darker and scarier and taking out a lot if not all the Freddy humor that came in the later movies.

Wasn't Michael MUCH more frightening as a force of evil, as in the original, than as just a serial killer? DR. Loomis's great speeches on how he slowly came to realize that the boy was evil incarnate?? I agree on how un-scary Freddie was in the later movies...it seemed to be forgotten that we were dealing with a child murderer....as far as Halloween goes...check Bob Clarke's "Black Christmas" (if you haven't already) to see how heavily influenced Carpenter was by this little classic...

Yeah the unknown source of evil and the suspense is what made the original Halloween great. The remake too me was too profanic and not even scary in my opinion and H2 (2009) I watched online and it was more violent than 07 remake plus the alternate ending of 09 was better than the theatrical 09 I think but a lot of people do not like it.

Remakes are a hit and miss, more miss than hit. The one I have enjoyed the most was TCM 03 and 06. FRiday remake was ok. Halloween-fail, MIami Vice-fail, Dukes-fail, Starsky and Hutch-ok for comedy it was, Longest Yard 05, liked that one better than 75, Last House On Left-ok, Nightmare On Elm Streer 2010, we will see but doubtful.

great video. My favorite is Michael Myers then Jason but Jason has better kills. I hope they never make a movie with all 3 killers in it cause Michael doesn't need a sparing partner to get more fans like they did with Freddy VS. Jason which was good but was just to get money. Michael is a stand alone character and doesn't need another fan base to popularise him. Michael actually started the horror boom in the 80's and Michael created Jason in a way.
