yeah, like having a monolid is something to be ashamed of u.u all it means is that we have to apply makeup with a different technique, that's all. everyone should be proud of the features they were born with, mono and double lids.
@Aeore506 Most asian eyes are double-lid though, and we are still proud even if our lids are naturally double-lid because we asians have a beautiful eye shape :)
It's not weird. You might have native american blood. Native americans and asians are cousin races. There are some differences and the eyelid is one of them.
I think she meant it in the sense that your pupil is really big compared to the size of the opening of ur eye. Thats why it gives u the "alien" look...or in nicer terms..the anime look!

As for the eyelid line, I've been told there's a no-knife surgery where a string is inserted to keep the crease in? I don't know if I should try it or not. It's pretty simple apparently, and can be reversed just as easily.
for me, personally, i would just keep my eyes the way they are. But that's just me! hehe If you do go through with it let me know how it turns out! I'm curious :)
For those who don't have obvious eye lids, I think there's sticky tape:D I use a whole lot of those.. You could get the cheap ones :) they last for months!!
You could try painting over it with black liquid eyeliner and then useing black eye shadow to go over it to prevent creasing.. Works for me:D maybe trim it a little bit more too :S might help..
you could curl your lashes i think it would look very beautiful on you! I'm half German half Korean but I'm looking more Asian than German. So I've also got some problems by putting make up on but i'm always working with white pencil, light eyeshadow my lash curler and a lot of Mascara... you should try to curl your lashes it will open your eye a bit more and will make you look- eh- weak? I'm sorry i don't know the right word (german^^)
i've tried the white pencil before..but it always looks so...fake on me. so i've stopped that
and as for mascara..my eyes have some type of condition where my eyelashes point inwards, so it pokes my eyes pretty often and scratches my eyes. if i curl my lashes, it makes my eyes more prone to being poked. therefore, ic an't wear mascara too frequently. haha, but i would if i could!!!! :)
I HAVE THE SAME CONDITION! My lower lid has an extra flap that makes my bottom lashes point straight in...My cornea was completely damaged by the time I was 10 so I had to get contacts to protect it. So yeah, I never put anything on my bottom lid ;) Plus, I have a dry eye condition on top of that which makes me prone to infection. Normal people are so lucky...I never wear makeup because it causes problems!
Er. Don't use stark white. A soft pearl-white or any pale pastel color on the light-range works. It could also be using too much or in the wrong areas. Or not enough blending in the the right areas or way. X)
When you curl, try doing it manually. And be careful. (You can curl your lashes without using a eyelash-curler. You can message me if you really wanna know. You can use a spoon or fingernail, or a toothpick.)

if you can go in super close, use the liner ONLY on the inner... tear? line. NOT on top on the lash line. my lids are small, but whenever i do this, everyone notices them more. hope that helps

actually, putting eyeliner all around your eyes and then applying mascara afterwards will give the illusion of a smaller eye. Whereas, applying eyeshadow around the eye prior to everything will open up the eye more due to the array of colors around the eye. however, Each person has their preference.
honey, stop being a skeptic and try it. makeup is an art, it's not science where you have to do step 1-use eyeliner, before proceeding to the next step. anything goes.. as long as it looks great.

many people with creases would agree with you. however, from my experience eyeliner DOES make my eyes look bigger. It's not only me, but my friends as well. I know it goes against most make-up theories (or whatever you would call it) but eyeliner is a MUST to make your eyes look slightly bigger if you have creaseless eyes. :)

I have to agree, I don't have an eyecrease and if I DON'T use liner, my eyes look smaller. Everyone's eyes are different and what may work for one person's eyes could have different results than a different person's eyes.

Asian have natural double eyelids too. They are not trying to look like Caucasian. They are trying to look like other Asian. Only a racist would think that double eyelids are not an Asian feature.
yup. at least 50% of asians have dbl eyelids, it's just that the ones who don't usually desire them (the lids). ppl think their desire for double eyelids is a desire to have western eyes. not true.

actually, putting eyeliner all around your eyes and then applying mascara afterwards will give the illusion of a smaller eye. Whereas, applying eyeshadow around the eye prior to everything will open up the eye more due to the array of colors around the eye. however, Each person has their preference.

honey, stop being a skeptic and try it. makeup is an art, it's not science where you have to do step 1-use eyeliner, before proceeding to the next step. anything goes.. as long as it looks great.

And no, sorry, but eye liner and mascara don't always need to be before eye shadow. And i dont understand what's wrong with the black on the ends of my eyes? It makes my eyes look longer, more cat-like. And I think I would know if my eyes looked smaller. So next time, if you're going to analyze someone's make-up tutorial, go try it out first and THEN add on tips to the tutorial. Don't blatantly say "i dont like it"

ALSO u shouldnt put eyeliner on if u have azn eyes cos eyeliner makes ur eyes look smaller9esp. if its black)...use a dark brown shaddow n apply it in a line instead if u reli nd it...

many people with creases would agree with you. however, from my experience eyeliner DOES make my eyes look bigger. It's not only me, but my friends as well. I know it goes against most make-up theories (or whatever you would call it) but eyeliner is a MUST to make your eyes look slightly bigger if you have creaseless eyes. :)

you're right, asian eyes need eyeliner. i have pretty much the same eyes as you and without eyeliner, all the hard work goes to waste. thanks so much for the tutorial, i wish you could have shown both your eyes open at the end though~ but i guess i'll try it out sometime.

I love how people criticize--they probably don't have the single eyelid type of eye; they don't understand.
I have to agree, I don't have an eyecrease and if I DON'T use liner, my eyes look smaller. Everyone's eyes are different and what may work for one person's eyes could have different results than a different person's eyes.

Asian have natural double eyelids too. They are not trying to look like Caucasian. They are trying to look like other Asian. Only a racist would think that double eyelids are not an Asian feature.

You're right about the term oriental eyelids, which comes off very offensive to me with the term "oriental" attached to it. Being that it's usually referring to a person of Asian decent (and Asians use to be called Orientals). There IS another way of referring to such a procedure well known to doctors as Asian Blepharoplasty, double eyelid cosmetic surgery. Nuff said.

Hold your horses! If you have a preference to be called an Oriental (a thing), then kudos to you (since you ask what's the difference). But, there are many Asians from the states wouldn't stand for that and I happen to be one of those Asians.
Anyway, no harm, no foul here.

Look up oriental at dictionary DOT com and read carefully.
There's nowhere on there where it says that "Asian is also to be the same as oriental." In fact, it defines oriental only as things of the orient meaning the culture and/or characteristics of the Asian countries. I can't rephrase everything on here for you but you can look it up and read it carefully. Then, most importantly, read where it says Usage Note.

This is ultra helpful...thanks cos my eyes are like yours...it's easy to do away with plastic surgery but I'll loose my identity plus I want my daughter to understand this is naturally her inheritance and be proud of it. Look forward to more of your videos!
