  • windows xp on a core i7!!!!!!!!!!!????????

  • @MegaBlaze007 Look at video upload date. Realise that there was no Win7 back then. Imagine VIsta on core i7.

  • @mcliars ohh...yeah dude!! now i guess you have it.. :)

  • @MegaBlaze007 Yes. I also have still the WinXP on other HDD, and Linux.

  • Cool vid. Really love that case badge!

BTW, those gloves are hardcore lol.

  • Finger prints suck balled, just like most of the people who made comments on this video.

    Nice job.

  • gloves are serious business.

  • Any reason for those gloves? It's not like your building a NASA satellite.

  • @drKlitzman It is. :)

  • @drKlitzman hahahahahhahahahahahah awesome!!

  • Seriously, don't spread the thermal compound before putting on your cpu heat sink. The gloves can be useful but I dont think you need them if you just touched something grounded. ( better handling ) but nice video !

  • @phyyll actually some of the best pc builders and over clockers recommend spreading the paste rather then the spot in the middle .

  • I need to find a pair of those gloves

  • @TheWoWRevelation I used a pair of sterile gloves from a pharmacy.

  • @mcliars wow do they really work? ill pick some up this week! thanks!

  • My computer here are my specks Intel i7 980 X 24 Gb OZC Ram 6 OCZ 60GB SSD on Raid 0 2 Nvidia GTX 480 and 1 nvdia 9800 dedacaded gpu 1200 watt power windows 7 pro 64bit 32 inch touch screen ram cooler EVGA X58 mother board Gpu coolers Corsair water cooling unit 7.1 sound card this makes crysis load in 5 secs its called DREAM WARE PRO price 6000$
  • @cowboys32296 Sure you do.

  • @cowboys32296 You've got all that and you have a corsair all in one water cooler? Pah!

  • overall cost?

  • why gloves?

  • you are not putting them in the wrong slots

  • I had XP pro on my i7 rig and then put in Win 7 the dx 10 of win 7 allows games to be better optimised aswell as run better graphics and the 64bit OS can read all GGb of my Ram on XP it could only read 3.5Gb and could only give 2Gb to a game .

  • 1:24 Dual Core stick? :)

  • hey i have the same OCZ ram ^^

  • BULLSHIT!

    win xp pro IS BEST

win 7 is like vista after week!

    home is pointless

xp 100% of potential not 7

  • the heatsink is massive lol

  • Why XP Home?

  • Because, at the wrriting of the video, there was no Win7.

  • @mcliars win 7 is vista sp2

you guys are so retarded it take a decade to develope a new Os from scratch

both vista and win 7 have the same architecture and kernel thread count. Microsoft lost a projected 6 billion from vista sales because of a premature launch and a brand reputation that vista was faulty

all they did was slap on a new sticker on the vista box and you morons were dumb enough to think it was a new dress on a pig

  • @godscuttingyoudown Win7 is Windows Server 2008 based. No Vista for you.

  • OVER 9000!!!!!

  • nice one:)

  • sooo good your PC, but, how can put win xp?? i think that win 7 x64 do your pc computer the 100% of potence, i have for example, intel core i7, gigabyte ex58 ud3r, 4 gb ddr3 1333 kingston (a few bad :) ) 2xnvidia 260gtx SLI , 2 HD 1 tb Seagate , 1 aerocool touch 1000, thermaltake element g, 900w power system, and thermaltake spinq VT....it's soo good. but i put win 7 x64 and it's incredible!

    congratulations of your PC! :)

  • As of now, i actually have Win7 x64 on it. :)

  • and it's sooo good no?? hahaha contratulations for your PC from Spain!! :)

  • You made a mess with that thermal paste, lol.

  • What were you doing with the bios may I ask?

  • Nothing much, just some basic things like setting the boot device priority, time etc.

  • thnks for this.....but your pc is very nicce and beautyfull..... if you could check and my pc....... :)

  • very nice but my friend the memory must be in orange dimm

  • Congratulations. 9000 people viewed this video and noone noticed. I know I put the DIMMs in bad slots and fixed it long time ago. Anyway, since you are the first guy to view this and notice my mistake, im going to annotate your name at the very begining of this video.

  • @mikesake Oh and, I'm bringing this comment up.

  • Nice rig, considering getting the I7 but i might just go for the i5 since i want my PC NOW and not later :P (saving up)

  • Very nice, i dont see the need for a fan like that, unless your planning on really overclocking it but then if you were you'd water cool it ? but anyway nice video

  • why are you putting the cooler with the fan down?in that particular case(cause i have the same) it is better to have to the right so the hot air goes out from the back!

  • m putting it like this because in my case i have my outtakes on top instead of side because you can install two 140mms up there

  • Good PSU, I have the same in my Antec Twelve ;)

  • lol surgeon

  • WHY THE HELL DO YOU WHERE GLOVES

  • its "wear" you idiot

  • try reading other comments before trolling. also, just FYI i hate trolls so much.

  • TO D cpu you need to wear a pair of gloves to d cpu

  • Not always but i have them just to be safe.

  • Thermal paste, for better heat transfer between CPU an the cooler. In fact, cooler is nearly useless witjout the paste. Some coolers (like these that come with CPU etc.) come with the paste preapplied.

  • nice build check mine if you wish to :) we use same power supply.

  • how much t

    tell me plz!

  • wtf is with latex gloves

  • ... the gloves that surgeons use.

  • and... you use 'em for computers...

  • since the are non conductive i use them for anti-static purposes.

  • Latex gloves aren't thick enough to prevent an arc to your skin and the rubber can build up quite a charge on its surface which makes the situation even worse.

    Invest in a wristband.

  • Can you tell me where to buy one? In Czech Republic? I'm afraid you can't.

  • I would think to use them just to keep oils from your fingers from the components.

  • Saw your GTA IV Videos, man did that look both nice and smooth.

I'm getting the i7 950 myself and the same motherboard, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 with 6GB of Ram. Gonna try to get that ATi 5870 too.

Can't wait to play GTA IV above 20 FPS :P

  • The only place where i get UNDER 20 FPS in GTA IV is when it's raining. :D

  • would the fps in that increase if you had more ram?

  • no.

  • I built my first rig a few weeks ago. This video brought back that euphoric emotion of 'assembling' your own PC :C

  • Man i just built my first rig!!! Just a simple dual core cause i don't have a job.............But now i Hella want an I7 rig. Damn there nice...........Cool vid man =)

  • how much?

  • how do i know how much thermal pasta i need?

  • one "syringe" is enough for about three applications.

  • thanks

  • that depends on the sizeof the tube

  • Ya you don't need a S!@# load.........just enough to make a thin layer across the cpu!!! =)

  • PASTA?!! Lmao!!

  • okay, thanks again guys ^^

    yes, PASTA!

  • Is it hard to build a gaming desktop? I have 0 experience in doing it, but people say it's easier, and runs good..I have a site that tells me "good" budget hardware. Should I try?

  • ummmm you meen absolutely "0" experience. then i prob wouldnt. u first need to know how everything works, why it works that way, and what makes it good.

building a computer is a lot more complicated than u think. like certain things wont work with other things, and a whole lot of other shit, so id read a good bit before you do anything.

  • i dont have an antistatic bracelet so i used gloves

  • could you put 2 core i7's in one computer? would it be higher mhz with 2? (i don't know if the mhz depend on the processor or whatever)

  • well basicly yes, you can put two nehaelm Xeons in one PC, these are core i7 too, just diferent branding and multi CPU support. And no, multi CPU won't give you higher mhz.

  • would it do better or would it be un-necesary power? (sorry for all the questions lol)

  • if you will get a OS that can utilize more CPUs (XP home utilizes more cores but not more CPUs) like XP professional or Vista Ultimate

and a program that can utilize more CPUs or cores (like adobe premiere/photoshop/etc or high end games (crysis for example)

then yes, it would do better.

And about these questions, its no problem to me.

  • oh i see,ok thanks.

  • Wait are you saying vista ultimate utilizies more cores then business?

  • both business and ultimate utilize MORE CPUS and MORE CORES, BUT the home premiun and basic utilize ONLY MORE CORES not CPUS

  • nice rig man how much did it cost you overall?

  • 52000 Czech Crowns - thats about 2450 USD (our internet shop had sales)

  • Nice rig. However you should have gotten a larger monitor.

  • 22 is enough for me since i was on 15.4 laptop before.

  • im gettin the same cpu cooler and how do you put a fan on?!

  • they ship a fan with the new i7 version OR you have to get one for the old version

for instructions on how to put it on, go to thermalright site they have a manual there.

  • i dont look the video why ???

    question the music

  • hehehe! he has such a bad monitor! why would you spend so much money on top end stuff, but buy such a crap monitor?

  • why do you think that my monitor is crap? it has excelent connectivity, good contrast ratio (20000:1) and different color modes.

now i have two of these, and i am really satisfied.

  • Nothing wrong with monitor... it just looks a little small in comparison with the rig next to it, I think

  • As said before it just adds black corners when using a basic resolution (640x480, 800 x600 etc.) so it wont look extremely stretched. Oh and, by the way, i have two of these now.

  • i hate all those dumbshits that always thinks more is better, if ur using XP u cant use 6 gb ram ffs.

  • xp x64 can u smartass.

  • yeah, and thats stable.

  • Yes it is. but some low iq people seem not to get that xp has changed since 2001 - 2009 omg..

  • you can if its x64 you dumbshit you can use 128gbs of ram

  • Yeah but x64 sucks ass, nothing works.

  • nothing works ? i have been using it for 2 yrs now could you tell me one thing that will not work with it ? because i have not found one yet

  • on pro 64bit you can

  • Why no watercooling system? Would be more quiet :-)

  • looks fun lol, making ur own pc is cool, u can add whatevah u want (as soon as they compatible)

  • mac person? xD

  • More to the point, why 3GB instead of 6?

  • More to the point, why 6GB instead of 3? As said before, i dont need 6GB.

  • Yeah, you do.

  • For WHAT? More is not always better. like NGT2O6 said

  • Why windows XP instead of Vista DX10?

  • actually, i just HATE Vista, i will install win7 on the second drive as soon as it will be released

  • I've got the same case, getting my parts one by one. you should video the inside if it's done that is. Was cable management pretty easy with this case?

  • since i had the PSU longer than usual, it wasnt

  • >:/!

    That's pretty much my computer!

  • gamemaker83, Do you go around trying too tell people how to build their rigs and/or just bitch, Lol that's about all it seems you do, Maybe you're just jealous.

  • you made a big mistake

you sgould never use 3 gb of ram in a core i7 system

    minimum 6gb

  • why do you think that i need 6GB?

    i use xp

    i don't play FS X

i don't work with CAD or other shit

no need for 6GB. i have about 800MB of free ram even when playing GTAIV

  • rubber gloves ftw LOL

    wow

  • just to be safe of the static electricity

  • Yea, expensive-ass rig, don't want anything to go wrong :D

  • With those gloves, it looks like he's doin' a surgery lol xD

  • I think a bit over protective, it's kinda unnecesary.

  • no, its bit OVER 9000 :P

  • actually not a bad idea ;-)

  • This is bulding? yhym, for noob

  • and what do you expect?

  • what are you cpu temps like?

  • 30C idle

    40C load

    that cooler is the best!

  • In Winter, when your computer is outside ;)

  • screen looks small with a big edge :(

and he's installing Windows XP :|

  • if you see this screen in person you'll find out that it's big. And the second disk is for windows 7 when it comes out.

  • and also, the edges are soo large because the xp install is 640x480 so it automatically adds edges because... well... imagine 640x480 at 22inch LCD

  • yea, i got an 22" 1680x1050 16:10 w/XP it doesn't put black edges to fill the rest of the screen, it fills the screen, and from what i see at 1:30 it looks bigger than 640x480.

windows 7 has a beta that is free that last's till June 2010. i got a 32bit copy, and 64bit ultimate copy from a friend.

  • yeah, i'll probably dualboot the beta and then reinstall it to release version

  • if i were u, i would dual boot wth 7 and xp, but after release, ither dual boot it with xp, dual boot vista and xp and just wait for win7 sp1, or tri boot xp, vista, and 7. but windows bootloaders are shitty, so i would maybe quad boot them, by lastly installing Ubuntu Linux, which has the grub bootloader, where it should see all 3 others, without having to add any lines.

this 1 time i had 7 os's on the same machine, over a master/slave setup. 6 if u count the fact that OpenSolaris never worked

  • let me recommend that u remove the empty hard drive cages and try to put the hard drive in the middle. That way you get more airflow without those empty cages and you also get ur hard drive a little cooler since it does help.

I used to have my hard drive on the top then when i moved it to the middle and removed the others i got a 5 degree drop (in celcius). A cooler hard drive makes it last longer :D

  • yeah... i allready did it

  • nice setup, I've got similar parts like you

but question: could the psu handle 2 gtx 285 or 2 gtx 275 's ?

    thx

  • it caould handle two 285s

  • ouch! awesome! hope i can get rig like u =(

  • oooo!!! I love your computer,5 STARS! and you must be SUPER Rich!

  • not true, only costs around 1600 for an 97 build, not that big a step up, if you already go around buying gaming rigs, espically if u go 4 SLI/crossfire. And if u do just get another card later down the track if u want crossfire/sli

  • That looks awesome. 5 stars mate! I've got a very similar rig, check it out! :)

Also bought the Lachesis two days ago ;b

  • no rich maybe if ya have a job lol they kinda expensive but not no millions lol check my rig

  • hehe true, i have a core i7 rig as well :) took me close to 5 months to get all the money but it was worth it ^^

  • there really is no need to wear those gloves. nothing will happen to the parts unless ur really electirfied but noone is that much so u dont need that, just makes it harder on u

  • Never hurts to be on the safe side.

  • ram memorys are really sensitive. and besides... youtube freaks out if you dont wear antistatic things xD

  • damn yeah.

  • Simply Awesome.. you must be rich :-P

  • You don't need to be rich to build a Core i7 system...

  • Yeah.. You need to be rich to buy them xD

  • Noo... you just need a job.

  • which pays you a lot of money..!

  • .__. wanna have !!

  • nice vid! 5/5

  • I have exactly the same machine a difference the hard drive is the Maxtor for me

  • Really? Thats kinda funny. Even the fans were the same?

  • great case. I have that case but not the nvidia edition and i love it.

  • yeah. i like it too.

  • Nice rig 5/5

    what's the music please?

  • the music is Dreamscape - 009 Sound System

  • Thanks a lot

  • You mind telling me how much this cost you a total of PLEASE?!?!?!?

  • Our local internet shop had discounts, so it was "only" 2650 USD.

  • i build my i7 system without gloves or antistatic bracelet xD

decharged myself every 2 minutes tho :P

  • thats what im talking about - no need to discharge every 2 minutes

  • probably not but the floor here makes everything as static as wool would do lol. + i was kinda nervous to brake anything as this was my first build and decharging doesn't hurt anyone does it? :P

  • It doesn't hurt you but it does the hardware. One discharge can brick a component very easily.

  • so true lol. that's why i discharged myself every now and then while building this :)

  • haha whats with the gloves?

  • i didnt had an antistatic bracelet when i was building it...
