  • Holy shit!!....RATT!....Lack of communication!

  • hey that sounds cool.

  • worst mesa amp ever made

  • @Theneongray2

    WHAT?!

  • nice ratt riffs

  • Lack of Communication!!! YEAH!

  • Lack of Communication!!!

  • I've owned a Triple Rectifier for 10 years. I played on of these for 20 minutes. I prefer the Stiletto.

I prefer the Diezel VH4 over all.

  • hey, what are your settings? are you switched down to 50 or the full 150watts?

  • You'd be better off with a Mk IV or V.

  • Do you thin this amp head could do Metallica and Lamb of God type sounds well? I have a vintage modern head and cab atm, and i just want an amp that can go from blues to Lamb of God lol ????????????

  • @TheStark808 They use mark 4's. But why emulate. Originate.

  • I recommend a Mesa Mk II, mk IV or Mk V, Recto or an Uberschall for those tones

  • i have this head with a krank krankenstein for some reason i dont think im getting the sound i was expecting. i don't like the distortion im getting

im into deftones korn lamb of god, between the buried and me, emmure, after the burial, PINK FLOYD the doors any kind of music but im a metal head at heart and would like a heavy sounding distortion

i don't have any distortion pedals

i've owned metal zone before and dont like it, it has too much fuzz

    thanks youtubers!

  • I agree steelwizard! Definition is everything... if you want the new metal sound, go with a recto; if you are after the 80-90's metal, better go with a Stiletto. You can eq either of them, though... in the end, go with what makes your ears happy :)

  • can this amp get a good Swedish Death Metal sound?

ie Scar Symmetry, Soilwork, In Flames, Dark Tranquility ect.?

  • @The7thL

    get a rectifier.

  • @The7thL Someone told you to get a recto but that will give you more of an american metal sound, like Lamb of God or Mark Tremonti.

The hands down best option for the Swedish death metal sound is the Peavey 5150 or 6505. Almost every band from the Gothenburg era of Swedish melo-death based their sound on these amps.

  • Nice 80's tone Ratt and some Winger action. I dig the tone. Most people ever use the bass on the attempt for this tone. You on the other hand hit it nicely. Nice job. Good use of the mids that is so so key.

  • could this do metalcore if I just tweaked it? I'm sure it could right?

  • $1700.00 or $1800.00 I think

  • how much do these sell for new?

  • I have a Stiletto Trident head. It's a nice amp,but definitely needs a pedal for really strong gain. Not a metal amp,in case people were wondering. It's worth finding the right combination, though.

Funny you're playing Ratt riffs through it. Check out my clips....haha. Great minds think alike!

  • I don't see how it's not a metal amp btw. Played one, I reckon it's a good metal amp, just a different flavour...

  • personnaly i use this wonderfull head with seymour duncan active blackout 2 pickup on bridge on a les paul, and it goes for metal. i play grindcore in a band, and this is IMO the best amp for it. very powerfull "diamond sound", listen to bands like "blockheads" (France) or mumakil (Swiss) and this is about this sound.

With EMG's this amp sounds a bit dry, and with passive pick ups this good amp for metal.

    very reactive to pickups!!!

overall this head can play rock, funk, jazz very nicely!!!

  • im debating between this amp and a roadster which how do you feel about the metal tones of this amp?

  • Metal?? The Roadster or Mk IV out of the Mesa line.

  • boosted roadster w/ maxon TS808. that's what killswitch used for the as daylight dies cd. check out a hughes-kettner triamp mkii also. more versatility in the latter

  • depends on your definition of Metal.

I'm shure this amp does the more oldschool, true kind of metal without any problems.

  • It depends on what tone you are after. Roadster will get you that Rectifier type tone, with arguably a fatter and less presence type of tone...

If you are after more of a British sound, then the Stiletto will fit the bill. Both are excellent metal amps none the less...

  • the dual rectifier is metal....

  • thanks for this great clip. I'm amp shopping I was thinking of the HK switchblade or the dual rec, but i stumbled on this video and i'm glad i did. All the clips on youtube with this stiletto stg II are great, i'm in the process of getting one now :)

  • Lack of communication. LACK OF!

  • im getting this beast....played on one for 2 hours at music city lol..nice playing dude loved the ratt

    ZakkHaney

  • sounds great man. would it be possible for you to post a video with a humbucking guitar and a lot of mids?

  • Maybe in a few days. Thanks for listening.

  • k thanks a lot!
