TAKE BACK HIP HOP..we need to organize and bring back this movement man..FUCK WE GOTTA TAKE HIP HOP BACK FROM THESE CRACKAS AND THESE FAKE ASS CATS like JAYZ LIL WAYNE AND ALL THESE FAGGIT ASS WANKS
@kiball09 Thats not as easy as it sounds. First ya gotta get all the robots to stop buying all this JZ Kanye Masonicly hyped bull shit . Thats very difficult considering the public media that has the market on mind control push their artist on the youth. Secondly you gotta find some serious money to promote the conscious hip hop if there is such a thing. Are you telling me the only label that would sign Griff was Sky Walker? Luther isnt exactly a good example . Whats up with that?
luke allowed griff to speak his mind when other record didnt want that rap about politics and race. they wanted pop artist luke company gave u freedom of speech they didnt hold u hostage and say u cant say this on wax
I was 16 yrs old and i made my 1st cross country drive from Colorado to Chicago in the winter with 5.0 and tires so bald that metal radial was stickin out. I had two 12's and cheap amp, I drove nonstop (stoppin for fuel and a pop) with this tape playing the whole time, it would simply auto reverse and keep playing. This is a very special album for me. Its a work of art!!!!
The production on this cd was out of this world during this time, I liked this cd even though griff isnt a hell of a rapper he drop science that made sense thats why I like griff and still like griff Peace to the brother Prof. Griff. This was one of my favorite cuts besides pawns of the game.
i think this album was so underrated b/c griff was not known for his emcee skills during his p.e. days. when he set out to do his solo thing, people saw it as a weak attempt at using his p.e. fame to do his solo thing, but if people had really checked out this album, they would have seen this as a solid album. i think i was the only person in my neighborhood that actually owned this album. most of my friends didn't even know who griff was, but they knew who p.e. was though.
I still got this record, it was one of my faves back in High School. I always wanted to sample that loop, still might. Hopefully the ghetto style djs don;t mess me up....
i remember it like it was yesterday, FYI , we did a whole album to different beats , then when we got to miami we wrote the majority of these joints in Lukes studio . it was crazy
Griff and Paris saved my life in the 90's. I dropped outta high school in 1990 for three months. I went back in December of that same year and my teachers were so impressed with my knowledge, education and self discipline dat they sent me to represent our high school in Washington D.C. for a week at da Close Up foundation. I went to the White House and met the president and everything the same year I was a dropout. Griff, Paris and Awesome Dre improved my vocabulary and knowledge to do this. GOD
awesome... yes i was in h.s. 87-90. i went to hayfield h.s. in alexandria va the mannheim american h.s. in mannheim germany. and i agree. public enemy, griff, Paris bdp all them changed my life. before them i knew nothing about black history. krsone and PE forced me to open a book..the first book was the autobiography of malcom x.. from then u name it..chek anta diop...all the rest. yes. hip hop changed everything.. i'm a better humab being for it all...
I ll tell u that as a former college grad who had nothin growing up, this is very encouraging. proof that anyone can do anything in the world today. The best of your abilities has yet to come!!! I m proud of u
@Felixdidit He really opened your eyes. I love to hear stories about this from a Black man. Griff is so right about being able to communicate effectively. He needs to drop the asking me if I'm hearing him though.
I met in 1990 in Memphis after Queen Latifah couldn't make it for a concert. I tell my kids that Griff & Paris are my teachers cause they brought me through those perilous 1990's when all my peers were being locked up, killed or substance abusers. I also met 2 Pac at the same concert that I met Griff, 2 Live Crew, Digital Underground, MC Lyte and Big Daddy Kane. Hip Hop took me from being an East Oakland Drug dealer hanging in crackhouses to a respectful young man visiting the Whitehouse. #33
Thanx Megatron. Its good to know that Hip Hop had the same effect on someone else's upbringing and contributions to this world. Paris and Griff made me a better father, a better brother, a better husband to my wife of 19 years. When I walk through my drug infested, gang polluted community even to this day I still remember the strength and self pride dat Griff and Paris reinforced in me that my strong mother had already instilled. I met Griff in 1990 in Memphis at a 2 Live Crew concert also. GOD
I will pay someone for a copy of this album to a c.d. This album brings back soo much memories and i think this was one of the most underrated and slept on albums in hip hop..griff put his thing down on this album
I copped this album when it first dropped bac in 1990. I was wondering how I may get this, and other hip hop classics that U have on your page. Peace.
Yeah man....I'm trying to find Suzy myself. The production on that track was sick. I have the original cassette from when it first came out, and I have full studio equipment, but I'm too lazy to copy it from the cassette to digital format. =)
