This place looks like a ghost town. Is all the grass dead? What part of the base is this?

@adriancombe It is a Ghost Town. It looks like East Housing on the other side of Hwy 1. They stopped putting people in East housing back in the mid 2000's.

bavck in the late 60's we lived at 222 ocean view. my da was a sr. mst. sgnt.- we later moved to the village :O) thanks for posting this and letting me take a walk down memory lane- i've not been back in over 40 years to visit.

How's the weather down in Vandenburg? How hot or cold does it usually get? I live in the Wine Area of California so I was just wondering how similar or different it would be if I ever had to move there, since I am thinking about working for Lockheed Martin after I go to college.

That's the off base housing area. Nothing there now except the streets.
