WOW! Nice Shootin"! ETC, ETC, ETC! You guys act as if women can't shoot guns! I just took my 7 year old daughter out last weekend to hunt squirrels and she did great, shot 3 in the head with a .22 rifle. Sincerely to the women in the video, nice shooting! I hope the negative comments don't stop you from shooting/posting vid!
The kick surprised the heck out of me after shooting an M1 Garand and I wasnt expecting too much from the 30-30, but boy is it light in comparison to the M1 LOL!
Well, I guess this year is my first year hunting. I'm going to hopefully get a deer. Buck or not, I'll be happy, The 30-30 Lever Action will be my gun. Is that a good pick?
Cool she's got ear plugs-in instead of earmuffs-on! :D Earmuffs are cool for pistol shooting but when you're going to shoulder a shotgun or rifle they suck.
I've lots of people over the years that couldn't wear ear plugs tho, wearing those things stuck in their ears would make 'em feel dizzy or even sea sick. :/
@AlvinAZ That is very true, I just invested in a nice set of muffs, the electronic kind... I failed to take into account they get in my way when I'm shooting a rifle. The eye protection I have also creates a gap, removing the seal around my ear. Oh well, ya live and learn. But they still do the trick especially when shooting pistols like you said. And I CAN shoot a rifle well with them I just prefer the ear plugs, for obvious reasons.
She didn't even flinch at the black powder. When I was learning to shoot with a .22 I would shoot when he was loading his .50 then let him shoot. I still flinch
I like the guy with the AR in the background walking around mag in the well...that's probably safe, right? Fast way to get banned from most ranges I go to.
I like these rifles very much and I have 2 of them. But at the range, i'm surpised each time at how they kick. These firearms are very noisy too... but I must add my shooting range is inside and has only 30 yards...
@blackserpent100 Well there is your answer, guns are much louder in confined spaces, there is no reason why the marlin should be any louder than another rifle of it's caliber
do you remember by any chance what the heck the shooter further away was firing right before she takes her shot? Looks like a big bore black-powder gun of some sort but I'm curious
Was the recoil really that powerful? I have the same model and I barely feel anything, just slightly more than a .22. Looks like she was more startled by the recoil moreso that rocked back by the recoil itself
Who cares about recoil when you can buy butt pads? They absorb a lot of the shock. A good rifle butt pad can make shooting fun again :) I am thinking of buying a Marlin 336. Or Remington 870, can't decide. Maybe I should flip a coin. I'll end up owning both anyways :P
@jcoopa123 it gets hot becasue of the rounds your shooting in it, The rounds are loaded hot meaning the way the power burns and so on it has enough powder in it to give it the disired speed foot lbs ect... not all the powder burns as the base of the barrle it burns through the whole thing and then out the end. if your target shooting i would get a bolt for hunting nothing better than a lever gun but remember it will shoot differently once the barrle heats up. to zero it fire 1 shot ever 30 min
im shooting one soon and its the first gun with a kick that i shot(only shot a .22 and a .410) but what shouls i expect...i kno its probly gonna hurt but how much...anything u can tell me helps...thx :)
@captenutty : First off, it's not going to hurt. Thinking that will only serve to screw up your shot. All you need to do is focus on properly pocketing it in your shoulder, get good cheek weld on the stock, take a deep breath, exhale fully, and slowly squeeze the trigger with your sights properly aligned. Don't anticipate, every shot should be a surprise. And make sure you go with someone who knows enough to coach you
@captenutty it dont hurt if you hold it tight into your should my dad has one it was the 2nd gun i shot i was like cool that bottle just flew in the air oh yup that might bruise
@furrydr867 get the new lever evolution rounds for it and learn how to adjust for the bullet drop and this round will reach out to 200 yards or get the new marlin 338 express it will go out to 500 and still kill ;)
Im pretty sure thats the cracked out chick that pooped on my floor last sat night......she was with some fag that looked like boy george ....I think his name was Tom
As a black powder shooting enthusiast, I can tell you that it was indeed a flint-lock or cap and ball rifle. The shooter was using authentic black powder instead of the pyrodex often used for because of its more limited corrosive properties and easier cleaning, not to mention lower smoke emmisions. Pretty cool, huh?
Also, Maybe you can't admit it, but the people with class 3 licenses are excercising their own rights.. They are the most upstanding Citizens in theis country when it comes to obeying laws.. You can demonize a type of gun all you want, but it won't change the truth.. I think you need to re read the constitution.. You know, the Founding fathers wrote that with an understanding of Personal Responsibility, and personal liberty.. They Were Right!
first of all im not talking about range shooting, im assuming if your range shooting you have all the proper safety precautions, but im saying, your not going to be using those in your house against a home invader?? and say in a wrol situation, and people are trying to break into your house, are you really going to break out a saw to deal with them? unless you live really far from your neighbors, or have none, your going to hit someone elses house, im a gun owner myself btwfullautoisnt practical
@SleepyFox79 Perhaps you Should Read up on the "Gary McFadden" case from the late 80s early 90s.. I hope I got the name right though.. In anycase, It doesn't matter if the gun is Full auto or not.. a 9mm bullet from a pistol, or even a 32, will penetrate walls.. Buckshot flies through sheetrock like it isn't even there. Unless you are using a 22LR handgun as your Home Defense weapon, don't get started on what is practical as far as penetrating to a neighbors house is concerned.
@SleepyFox79 Also, Perhaps is you asked a class 3 machine gun owner what he would use in case of a break in.. I can almost guarantee that they will tell you they would never reach for the full auto weapon, SAW or otherwise.. THey don't want the legal hassle that proceeds afterwards, and will most likely grab a Remington 870 Shotgun loaded with Bird Shot.. You equate owning a Machine Gun to being Reckless, which is not the case..
I will put this into simple terms, so you can understand it SleepyFox.. You make it sound like we shoot around trailer parks and city backyards.. First off, no we don't.. It is illegal to do so unless at a public range.. Second, at those ranges they have building high walls of dirt to stop any and all bullets.. We do not fire our guns up into the air, unless they are shotguns with bird Shot..
First it starts off with the "evil" black guns (AR, Glock, etc). Then anything with "high" capacity mags. Then all semis. Then anything with more then 6 rnds. Then anything more then a single shot. There is always one touchhole that isn't happy with a particular thing being available to the law abiding citizen. Usually they are far lefters, those that don't like the thought of us being able to protect ourselves and our rights.
Because basically same weapon i go on patrol with shouldnt be the one every citizen should be "protecting" their house with. a 30rd mag is overkill for anything but the sandbox.
who said people own them only to protect their house? no one cares about what firearms you think people should be allowed to own. why dont you try taking them? you dont understand the constitution and bill of rights, you have no business serving in the military. i fight to protect the constitution and the american people. you are a mindless drone. exactly what the obama administration wants.
i dont understand the constitution or the bill of rights? ha. i dont give a shit if you have them or not, i by no means endorse taking away privately owned weapons, i have many myself. but what i dont think is really nessacary is these kinds of weapons that have no purpose other than to kill men. and how the hell are you fighting for MY rights?
you can kill a guy with a screwdriver too you know, anything in a motivated persons hand can be used to kill another human being, i bet if i wanted i could kill more people driving through a crowd with my truck than you could with a 30 round mag
i bet i could kill more people using that 30round mag on that crowd of people you speak of, than you could run over in your truck.
i dont have a problem with these types of weapons i own them myself, the scary thing is whenever i go to the range and see all the mentally deficiant gun nuts.
and i was actually replying to phillarup :P not sure what happened there, i have no problem with hi-cap mags for just range shooting and such, i do think full auto is pointless outside military usage, the only reason they use full auto is to fill the air with as much lead as possible to keep the bad guys heads down, so your guys can maneuver, i think full auto for home/civillian use is dangerous and irresponsible,
@SleepyFox79 Well, That may be your opinion, but the people who get class 3 firearms licenses so they can legally own fully automatic weapons are without a doubt the most law abiding civilians in America. Minimum for backround checks is 6 months of continuous checks, they also may have to have a psyche evaluation, and the cost of the weapons is generally above 10,000 each.. They open their life up to scrutiny for that right, so please don't call them irresponsible or dangerous.
what im saying is, its fine if you want to shoot junk in your own range or whatever, but when you start spraying bullets what about your neighbors? or others property that you might hit? because i dont care how good you are, and if your using controlled bursts, you will not be able to control where each and every one of those bullets are going to go, it's overkill, your not going to be mowing down hordes of zombies.
@SleepyFox79 you really are a moron aren't you? First of all, when you shoot, rule number 1, always know what is in front of your barrel.. You shoot with a backstop, and you don't shoot towards any houses.. My own personal backstop is formed of horizontally stacked railroad ties, bout 3 deep.. Even elephant and buffalo rifles don't shoot through it.. And Guess what.. You should do a little thinking before you open your mouth again.
The 2nd amendment is also there to protect ourselves from an oppressive government. If you are in the Military you took an oath to, "defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;"
Imagine that there is a group of US military personnel that don't understand the oath, (like you.) Do you think you could defend your family and country with a semi-auto 10 shot clip rifle?
You need to read and understand the Constitution to be able to uphold your oath.

what im saying is, its fine if you want to shoot junk in your own range or whatever, but when you start spraying bullets what about your neighbors? or others property that you might hit? because i dont care how good you are, and if your using controlled bursts, you will not be able to control where each and every one of those bullets are going to go, it's overkill, your not going to be mowing down hordes of zombies.
