these guys kick ass. its so awesome that they take such an interest in electronic music too. The intro to this is song is incredible and it was cool how they did that cover of Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin
I love Dillinger, but this performance, rockin' as it was, seemed kinda sloppy. It sounded like Chris wasn't in sync with the guitars or something. Still, kickass vid.
I cannot fathom, cannot FATHOM what it takes for them to write this... then play it... then play it live... then have seizures the entire time, without ever seeming to get injured, while playing it live. And they still sound just as good as on the album, save that I like Dimitri's voice better than Greg's.
Just becasue you dont get the music doesnt mean its any good.
Its for experienced musicians.
Their playing diminished chord progressions and soloing in chromatic sacles. Not too shure about the time signature in that main riff. and the amount of energy they throw out ... there's no band with a more energentic stage show. And I would rather have them playing a little more sloppy than them just standing there. If thats the case Ill just listen to them then watch them.
I'm not doubting their ability. I'm not doubting their talented and I'm definitely not doubting their showmanship. But this is just not appealing music in any way. It's just very abstract. Which is good... To an extent. A whole album of this would cause listening fatigue. More than one song of this live would do the same. There's just no feel to this... No soul. You can't even move properly to it... It just... blah. I dunno man. Doesn't hit the spot for me.
its no prob. I love rockin out to this shit. Obviously an old quote from me is "you can't expect the maestro to conduct a orchestra if he has never heard the piece."
There is soul. Its just not traditional. I dont expect you to like it, but at least understand why it is. At least you keep an open mind. That's what counts in life.
the old times with dimitri where fuckin incredible also. but now dep is one of the best band out there along with nile meshuggah battles and a few more i think.
since Fulton left them they have a problem with the fast scale parts in this song ;)

Dimitri's vocals were deff better than Gregs, but i have to say i prefer Patton over all of them.Regardless TDEP still kicks ass.

dimitri's vocals were better suited for DEPs old stuff, fersure. But overall i think Greg's range and skill are very much superior to dimitri's.

Everyone has a different taste, wich is great else we would all be the same. But I must say it does have ALLOT of soul.

It's really cool but some of the riffs and things are really sloppy because of the jumping about and such. It's a great performance though.
