  • Some twat pulled this study on me the other day. He said it showed theists have less stress or deal with stress better.

After reading it myself I saw that the conclusion was indeed that theists don't stress when they are wrong because they don't care if they are or not.

After I pointed that out to the guy he had a bitch fit in true christian tradition and denied it. Which goes to show they are less literate.

  • @xdassinx Well, what do you expect when you have a magical skydaddy wich takes away all your responsibility? Atheists are also better educated, so maybe the stress comes from actual thinking.

  • If you want religious people to convert into Atheism, tell 'em instead of having 72 virgins when you die...you get 73 virgins sent to your home.

  • @HxCDeathMetalHead

Who the heck would want a virgin? Much less 73 of them?!

I'll take ONE 40 year old woman with 20+ years of training over virgins any day.

    Dang!

Think of how many -"No no... Do it like this" you would have to go thru.

  • @anonymousSWE "Think of how many -"No no... Do it like this" you would have to go thru"

And don't forget they get reset every time, so it'll go on for eternity.

Personally, I think they aren't actually real women. Probably robots or inflatables. After all, how many women would be likely to volunteer for a job like that?

Mind you, that's Islam isn't it? So they won't have a choice.

  • @anonymousSWE I'd prefer a virgin, actually.

  • Faith-

disguising fiction as fact since BC

  • /1711-Qzvxk4

  • @92Payka you know what I call that? A setup.

One team pretends to be against another team acting real dumb (Fox news for example).

The other team then argues against them in a much more seemingly intelligent or reasonable way (NBC/CNN).

Voilá, you've convinced your audience that they're really smart compared to the other view/team and that they never have to bother with anyone again with that viewpoint and can look at them as inferior species, so to speak.

  • @92Payka oh yes, and it would be so much effort for an atheist to check which interpretation is the ONLY possible and logical one (it's called being prepared, the opposite of claiming ignorance). It's not deceptive at all to pick the one that has all the hallmarks of being formulated to be easily debunked (corrupt religion). They're like the bully in school picking on the weakest kid. And every time they defeat one of these charlatans with arguments, they claim victory over the bible

  • Genesis 1:1

In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

    ***

That's referring to the transformation of energy into matter during the Big Bang (E=MC2), meaning Stars, Planets, Moons, etc. So that's including our Sun and Moon. If you want to know why the Sun and Moon are mentioned again on the 4th day, look into the different Hebrew words used, nothing is "created" on the 4th day.

  • @Uenbg I highly doubt the men who wrote the bible knew about Einstein's theory.

  • I was hoping for something clever in this video :(

I guess they've been doing the show for too long, running out of subjects. Here's a question to ponder about, why is it then whenever atheists like the atheists on this show are debunking the bible, they always choose their own interpretation of whatever they're debunking? For example, I've seen atheists debunk the bible by claiming the earth is 6000 years old, or that the Sun and Moon were created on the 4th creative day, why make that claim?

  • @Uenbg why make the claim that the bible is accurate, when clearly it is not?

  • r u serious

  • thats scary as fuck that the human brain can believe an idea to the point where it tricks itself into shit like this.

  • @herpderpmonkey crazy isn't

  • @agentfire102 contradicting beliefs as a challenge

  • @agentfire102 yea that's a nice prospect but let's face it... how many theists feel it's their religious duty to change the beliefs of seculars? I'm agnostic (look it up if you don't know what that means) I can't tell you how many times I tell that to someone who is a inquiring theist and they start the confrontation and im just hoping they don't start it. I defend my beliefs, but I dont initiate the debate literaly every time. It seems to me that people take the statement and very existence of

  • Has anybody else noticed Jeff Dee kinda sounds like Chris Hanson??

  • I can prove that faith is bullsh1t. If you don't believe me just have faith that i m right.

  • Hehe, we only need to look it up in wikipedia to see that the opposite is true. Look up *correlation between intelligence and religiosity*. The less you believe in "supernatural powers", the smarter you probably are. : )

  • @winterstellar quoting wikipedia usually doesn't fly as a legit source :P

  • @WirlWind494 But in wiki they name sources, lots of sources. Anyway, articles that have been in wikipedia for a while are generally quite trustworthy because they are reviewed by experts and any errors are removed. The wiki articles on this subject have been there for years now:)

  • @winterstellar I know, sometimes the pages are good, but if you use it for, say, a school assignment, you'll probably lose marks.

I know atleast in Australia, quoting a source as a wiki is a fail, as my mother found out one time XD

  • @NoAtheists lol obvious troll is obvious.

  • At least here in America, the atheist movement would gain a better foothold if they did more than just idly complain. You can't compare us to the European Union: my brother lives in Germany and regularly mixes with over 7 different dialects of German mixed with French and other languages. We have better consistency here. Atheists don't do anything here-- maybe TV or movies, science obviously, but nothing with substance. They are an eyesore and an ear sore. Complain but no action. Dull.

  • @billroscoe76 What action are American atheists supposed to take?? It's not like our rights are be repressed. So should we go burn down a church? Also remember America is english speaking and most people don't mix in with other people who speak different languages. Do you even live here?

  • @lasoogneypubes I live in the western US and travel the country setting up high speed computer networks. Actions that I think Atheists should take? Well, for starters they need to have available an unbiased counselor for new atheists, especially teenagers, who do not realize how much of a lifestyle change it can be. Not long ago a 17 years old in my city blew his brains out at the suggestion of atheists here on YouTube. (continued)

  • @lasoogneypubes (cont) He had questions like, "How do you replace church when you are lonely or depressed, or need food or help... When his atheist "friends" asked why, they got the wrong impression that he was a POE (faker / troll) despite his assertion he wasn't. Some of the atheists were very kind to him, but many others continued to harass hm calling him "weak minded" and "pussy?" "Go shoot yourself, lame ass Christian Atheist-traitor!" BOOM. Right here on YouTube!

  • @billroscoe76 Uhh and this is your solution to Atheist apathy in America? Help new Atheists make the transition from their old religion? I don't blame anybody but the person who committed suicide. If you take youtube comments that seriously to where you would actually kill yourself because of them, then you were probably gonna kill yourself at some point anyway. There's not a whole lot you can do to stop something like that. People need to be strong.

  • @lasoogneypubes I got involved because of that event and after witnessing hostility from every angle here on youtube. We run a non-profit, non-biased, social club for people who feel the pressures of society are unfairly weighing upon them-- it's not just new atheists, but new mothers, criminals released on parole-- stuff like that. There are a surprising number of atheists who come to us for food and shelter because 99% of them are church based. We don't push religion.

  • @billroscoe76 So beyond that, we have tried to get secular parties involved but they don't want to-- and that's how it is, largely. The only places that care about homeless and hungry and do about it are churches... So we are trying to make a difference, showing that help isn't going to force you to listen to preacher... thing is-- no one else this and it's primarily because atheists are LAZY and UNCOMMITTED. I also urge atheists to picket jails-- but they won't. TOO LAZY.

  • @billroscoe76 nice one dick head

  • How can anyone watch these two and feel intellectually aroused? Bueller?

  • the problem with people is if they are religious and they mention they are then people flip the fuck out like this watch. I am of christian faith baptist to be precice and honestly you could give me facts all day on "how God isn't real" or "The bible is a lie" and all that but in the end you'll be trying to punch down a building with a feather its not going to change me whats so ever so people please let people be people and stop shoving this whole religion war down mine and others throats!

  • @agentfire102 I'm glad to see your post-- I'm on the same plane as you are. These people are part of the 'uncommitted' majority of atheists. They rant and rave but don't have guts or the gusto to do anything. They throw fits over religions presence in every aspect of American life. They know that people can get out of jail quicker if they "act good" by attending sermons yet you don't see atheists picketing jails or tearing down buildings with Biblical themes.Very lazy indeed.

  • @billroscoe76 personally i think we should just say o well to these religion wars and just let people be people

  • That color test seems to suggest that theists don't mind being incorrect. Well that's a stretch. I hope they didn't spend too much money on that study.

They should do a test between atheists and theists to see which group has less trouble with telling outright lies. That would be fun.

  • god cant wathc over you through out the day because he would have to be relativly close to earth and would have to be all around the earth to see china and the us at the same time. God would need to be closer than the moon to see stuff as it happens because the moon is 8.8 light secs. away so god would have to be closser than the moon and i can see the moon without a telescope but not a big man in the sky but i guess a religious person would say he's god so you cant see him or maybe hes invsible

  • They should talk about the so called 'God helmet' Also a neurology study done. Look it up if you are intreaged by the name, because it is that interresting...

  • You completely missed my point. All I was trying to do was offer an alternative, to using the word beggar. like i believe if there was no religion in this world people would care far more about life on earth. they would not be preoccupied with heaven, the afterlife, and all those stupid mythical things religion has in it. People would look through reality eyes, see the humanitarian problems, and every one would be far happier, rich or poor the would would be a far better place to live for all

  • totally wrong, I do not hate anyone, never have more then likely never will. I especially like people who have their feet firmly on the ground, and are open to new and exiting ideas. I tend to avoid people with narrow minded views, people who cannot,and/or are not open to logical thought , or learning fact from fiction. These are generally people who have been indoctrinated with religion. These are the people who are holding back this world, so much so they are ~2000 years behind the times

  • By the way faith is a total bullshit word, give me fact any day. Those with faith only have it because they are unable to distinguish fact from fiction...

  • @timdnwd the irony in that statement is that it could just as easily and validly be said that atheists only lack faith because they are unable to distinguish fact from fiction.

  • @timdnwd Heres a fact... the word FAITH comes from the Latin word FIDES which simply means TRUST. I assume then, that you cannot TRUST in SCIENCE, because that sort of TRUST in Science ( however you define that term), means you have FIDES, or FAITH, and by default that means you are not scientific. Don't think that works.

  • @timdnwd "I just found an alien in my backyard but I need twenty dollars to get rid of him" Astonished Face: "Say what? Oh, that's silly" "You don't believe me? Why can't you take what I said on faith?" LOL. I mean, with that mindset they could and SHOULD accept any outlandish thing a person tells you because faith does not require actual facts to be believed. Crazy.

  • I am sorry if you can't read and comprehend at the same time, It's probably the point I am making. Go back to school and get educated in life sciences, You will become more intelligent, and the less you need religion, Do it right and will become fearless, at this point you then don't need religion, when you don't need religion your mind is completely free to explore question, all that is in the universe. Not only that you come up with true facts and figures, and a very happy life

  • The argument that if atheists are smarter than theists therefore atheism is true and god does not exist is a logically invalid argument. Ad hom is not an argument at all. It's just atheists being the fucking assholes everyone knows they are.

  • Let me say the more you know the more you know that you don't know..The less you know the less you know you don't know..this is why theists can claim they know all, all can be fund in the bible..yes they are less illiterate..they have no idea they are wrong, stupid or low intellect..The less you know the less you know you don't know.Very common among religious people..

  • If all atheist disappear from America, 93% of the Academy of Science would be lost while only 1% of the prison population would disappear.

  • @moviedude120796 Amazing fact...Teach this to religious people..Say to be an open minded knowledge seeker Atheism is the way to go..follow religion the jail door is wide open for you...

  • @timdnwd it's a indisputable fact that the higher the education level, the more non-religious or atheist people you see. By this stage most have stepped back and looked at the bigger picture, and accepted the inevitability of dead and their insignificance in the universe. However most religious people cling on to religion in order reassure them that there is an afterlife and that the universe was made for humanity. Sad really...... I rather live with an inconvenient truth than a convenient lie

  • @moviedude120796 Yeh the truth hurts sometimes, but its the best way to learn.Telling convenient lies makes good listening especially for the unwary,is's sad that the unwary then spout out these convenient lies as gospel truths, It's a sure way to divide and destroy the human species. How can we overcome this and put humanity back on the right track for long term survival of the species?Like the earth is going to circulate around the sun for billions of years.I have many ideas...

  • @timdnwd I can see religion becoming extinct in the western world but in places like the Middle East fundamentalist will only increased due to the lack of education there.

  • @moviedude120796 Yeh it starts somewhere, china and russia under communist gov are majority atheist. the west will change, as for the arab countries?, nothing short of a world wide revolution is needed to rid the world or religion, as it poses the greatest threat to humanity. Educate the world? it's a big ask

  • My niece is a Psychiatrist and has worked exclusively with the mentally disabled for over twelve years. Every single one of her over 200 patients are fervent Christians. She told me that mental disorders and or a low IQ almost always guarantee the sufferer will be devoutly religious.

  • I know it's true that atheists are smarter and more educated than theists but it depresses me. Most of my family are fundamentalist Christians and they are all dumb.

  • @SquirrelGoneBananas .....Don't let it get you down squirrel .. My family are also devout christians , which brings me to the thought that a mental disorder runs in my tree ? Dogmas, christianity , jesus , religion = horse poop ................ I tend to lean toward Science and FACTS

  • @SquirrelGoneBananas Seek the truth, and sometimes it hurts, but continue this path and learn something new every day, The more you learn the more there is to learn, the happier you are, the happier you are the longer you live, the longer you live the more good times you have .At least someone in your family now knows how to live a interesting and happy life, do it right and one day your family might catch on..

  • "Intelligent theist"<-WHAT AN OXYMORON!! LOL!

AND AMERICA IS FULL OF RETARDS!!!

  • That's pretty interesting..

  • "The word 'God' lights up the same region of the brain as other words do, therefore god does not exist" is a spectacularly poor argument.

The claim that theists didn't mind getting the test wrong because they showed less stress is also a false inference. The claim that theists must be illiterate is ad hom an therefore invalid.

All in all, extremely poor reasoning skills on display here.

  • @1noen1 G.O.D does exist the word means Good Old Dad everyone has had one. He's the one who gave you life along with your G.O.M. Good Old Mum..

  • @timdnwd -- Non sequitur, I don't know what point you're trying to make as your comment is a little incoherent. I know it's difficult but I am sure if you concentrate real hard you'll be able to actually read what was said and reply in a coherent manner. I have faith in you.

  • There has yet to be an undisputable instance in history of any one devout theist being more intelligent than any one Atheist. In fact, history shows that theists usually killed those who proved themselves to be more intelligent than they were, or as in the case of Copernico, made multiple attempts on their lives.

  • @TheRealScarr YEh they called it the Spanish inquisition, it went for about 600 years only to finish in the 1960's Fucken catholic church. You wonder why a 100% atheist like me despises religion in all forms.

  • I have a T-shirt that says:

god = square root of -1

Funny how I get one of two reactions:

    1. "I like your shirt!"

    2. "What does that mean?”

  • @ndrthrdr1 You can always tell who the theists are because they aren't intelligent enough to understand that the square root of -1 is a non existent number, just like their god.

  • @TheRealScarr I agree with your sentiment, but be careful. While it's true that the square root of -1 (i) is an 'imaginary' number, it is used in the wacky world of quantum-physics where it is very applicable. So in a way, the square root of -1 is does exist, it's just not 'real'.

Physics gets really weird that way, it's said that if you understand it you haven't thought about it enough- I can certainly say much of it still mystifies me.

  • @TheRealScarr Like mention a square root to a theist, and they get very confused. they then start wondering how a round penis fits into a square vagina. Talk about a a square root of a negative number, please be patient with them it is very hard, and takes a lot of patience to reprogramme a confused and brainwashed mind, not impossible but extremely difficult.

  • @ndrthrdr1 I didn't think that square root was possible but I tried it on the square root calculator to make sure and sure enough it gave me an answer which proves your t-shirt right: "Invalid"

  • @LeoRikimaru That's right - it's known in math as an imaginary number. :P

  • "Actually, beng an idiot is requirement for being a beliver" - highest-rated comment

Ironic that they misspelled believer. Not only that, but tell that to the geniuses at some of the most prestigious universities in the world. There's no doubt that atheists dominate teaching positions, but theists are very well respected in the academic realm.

  • @BraunBrothers I think a typo is perfectly allowed on youtube, this isn't the SAT's. While it is ironic, it is also irrelevant. As for the rest of your comment, atheist's do completely dominate science, and teaching professions.

  • @richig761 If a typo should be ignored on Youtube (even when you're attempting to make an intellectual statement), I wonder what else is allowed. Can you give me guidelines? After all, this isn't an academic setting, a scholarly forum, or anything of the sort.

And when it comes to the discussion of God (which takes place in the philosophy department), there are quite a bit of theists at prestigious universities.

  • @BraunBrothersI think you answered your own question, with "after all, this isn't an academic setting, a scholarly forum, or anything of the sort." It's youtube. "Can you give me the guidelines?". HA Stop trying to be a smart ass, you're not good at it. He made a small typo, his comment wasn't riddled with grammar errors. So what? I never said there were NO theist's teaching philosophy, etc... at big universities. I said atheist's dominate science, and teaching profession's. Which is true.

  • @richig761 "So what?" No one else finds it ironic that he misspelled "believer" when attempting to insult theist's intelligence?

And just as well, I never said theists dominated the academic setting (read my first comment again), I simply said there are quite a bit of theists at prestigious universities. Any disagreement here? Do I need to name some?

  • @BraunBrothers Why are you seemingly trying to extend this conversation? I said that atheist's dominate the science, and teaching fields. You said "there are quite a bit of theist's", as if you were correcting me. I simply responded by reiterating, that there are theist's in those fields, but it is very much majority atheist. What is your problem here?

  • @richig761 It seems we have no reason to "extend" this conversation."

  • @BraunBrothers Of course you're right. Lets give the creationism theory a go in explaining the universe around us:

    Mr. Parker: "God made it."

Me: "Well fuck me, how very scientific. How does that work then Mr. Parker?"

    Mr. Parker: "God powers."

Me: "Well there you have it kids, God made it. Isn't physics fun?"

A deluded mind no matter how intelligent a mind it is, is still a deluded mind. Its like expecting sound psychiatric advice from Hannibal Lecter and expecting it to be spot-on.

  • @LeoRikimaru You beg the question that the mind is deluded. Unless you have prepared evidence against God (problem of evil, etc.), I would expect you to be a little more open to the idea of a God. Not only that, but I think you're creating a fake conversation for your own benefit.

If God exists, then theists use science to point TO God, not to directly show us God. God is, by definition, immaterial. So of course he isn't materially verified.

  • @BraunBrothers Its not a question. If you believe something that you have no tangible reason to believe that infact directly contradicts logic, the Bible does many times, then you are deluded. This isn't in question, that is the definition of delusion. You can't create evidence against something that doesn't exist much in the same way you couldn't rally evidence against santa. The burden of proof is not on me, I am not making the claim of Gods existence. Oh and that was satire, obviously.

  • @LeoRikimaru I don't think you know what "begging the question" means... if you did, you never would have made that comment.

  • @BraunBrothers If you want to play it like that; "The mind is deluded" is a statement, not a question. Therefore you are the one who is at fault for using a phrase that has absolutely no baring on a statement. Well done on attempting to circumvent my logical argument with an invalid grammatical observation though. You must feel very proud for rising to that level right now.

  • @LeoRikimaru I still don't think you understand what "begging the question" means... you're honestly sounding dumber and dumber. It has nothing to do with grammar... so you have two choices right now: 1- claim you knew what I was saying all along but chose to intentionally mislead me and your audience, or 2- find out what "begging the question" means and let the waves of naivety wash over you.

  • @BraunBrothers Checked wikipedia in-case I was making some mistake, I wasn't. Begging the question assumes that I have some point to make. I don't. The burden of proof does not at any point lie on me. Therefore my question is not a question but merely a statement of logic. If no proof is given to me of something existing then I will not believe it exists. No begging of questions needed. Oh and I choose to ignore those choices, as an atheist I get more than 2. But good luck with that.

  • @LeoRikimaru It seemed quite plain to me that you were begging the question in assuming that the theist is deluded, and then using biased examples to help portray the mind is deluded. But whatever floats your boat.

  • @BraunBrothers Are you even reading what I put? I'm not begging the question if it is already a proven fact. Look up delusion on Wikipedia or in a dictionary and you'll see they mirror theism. It wasn't an example, it was satire. I've already stated this clearly. You're clutching at straws.

  • @LeoRikimaru But you assume theists are deluded. Comparing them to psychologically deluded people is pointless. There is a reason doctors don't admit theists into an insane asylum simply for their belief in a God. And even if it "mirrors" a delusion or resembles it closely, that does not necessarily mean that it IS a delusion. I would like you to prove that it is a delusion.

  • @BraunBrothers Arse and butt mean the same things, I don't need to prove they are the same things because it is evident in the definitions they are the same things. You are correct, there is a reason doctors don't admit thiests into insane asylums. It is to do with numbers. If a large percentage of the worlds population believed in santa claus and were perfectly willing to do what it believes they say they should no matter how insane then it would be unwise to declare them mentally unbalanced.

  • @LeoRikimaru Believing in God and believing in Santa Clause are two separate things. And theism and delusional don't "mean the same thing." Your example was of two synonymous words. Look at any dictionary -- theism is not a synonym for delusional.

  • @BraunBrother Explain to me how believing in Santa is any different to believing in God in terms of evidence or logical reasoning.

  • @LeoRikimaru Are you serious?

  • @BraunBrothers Completely. Explain to me what belief in God has over belief in Santa in terms of evidence and logical reasoning. What makes believing in God less ludicrous?

  • @LeoRikimaru Are you still serious?

  • @BraunBrothers I think we've established both that I am serious and that you are unwilling to respond to the perfectly reasonable question so kindly stop wasting my time.

  • @LeoRikimaru I don't understand...

  • @BraunBrothers I am pointing out that in terms of evidence, logical reasoning or even chronological accuracy the God myth has about as much a leg to stand on as the Santa myth. Hence why I am asking you to give me a counter point that proves this statement wrong. Do you have one?

  • @LeoRikimaru I still don't follow.

  • @BraunBrothers If you don't by now then you must have some kind of mental block but I'll humor you and explain it in the most basic way possible if only for the sake of being able to say I tried:

No proof for Santa Claus, no proof for God. Santa Claus supposedly capable of physically impossible feats, God supposedly capable of impossible feats. Now aside from the fact the concept of Santa Claus is only enforced until late childhood what makes the God concept more plausible?

  • @LeoRikimaru Yeah I was just messing with you. I've heard this line of reasoning very often, and I find it quite naive and lacking in true philosophical depth. I'll type up a reply in a bit (it's a thorough topic).

  • @BraunBrothers Oh for f- Philosophy has nothing to do with it. If you think it does you've missed the entire point and makes you calling me naive that bit more ironic. This is a matter of evidence and reasoning, I don't want a reply like "If a tree falls and no-one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Ah-ha! I win." or the classic "God is love and we all feel love right?" I want a reply that shows me there is more proof for God than there is for Santa. Can you give me one or not?

  • @LeoRikimaru Hey man I'm gonna be really busy these next few days, so I probably won't have time to comment back. But if you remember (and I forget), comment back in about a week and I'll be happy to respond.

    Sorry for past hostility.

  • @BraunBrothers It's been 5 days, I want to see that proof too.

  • @LeoRikimaru :D works everytime!

    good work

  • @BraunBrothers it's not assuming theists are deluded, more often the not, and as far as I am aware, they are deluded. For instance, they can't tell the difference between dead and alive..They all say they are alive after they die, ie they go and live in heaven, that is truly delusional.

  • @LeoRikimaru Fuck off never use the word begging, you sound like your talking to a beggar,or it sounds like it came straight from the bible; you ask a question, clarify a question, elaborate on the question, you don't beg for a question..nor do you beg to differ. unless you truly are a beggar.

  • @timdnwd The only things I can gather from what you have written is that you hate poor people, have completely misinterpreted pretty much anything I *or* BraunBrothers said and have an unfulfilled desire to sound intelligent. Suffice to say that desire is still unfulfilled and you have made yourself look like a hateful moron.

  • @BraunBrothers Yeh I'm an atheist and open minded to the word GOD; it means Good Old Dad. everyone has got one..

  • By the way: In some intellectual tests rats are better, than humans.

  • The decribed test is not an IQ test, it is a concentration test, which could be part of an IQ test, but needn't to.

  • To theists: Why did God make people too stupid to be able to believe in him. Just to send them to hell?

  • @camoflux

Huh? God gave people the choice whether to love him, hate him or even deny his existence altogether. Hell is an eternity without God- simply people who wanted life without god getting just what they wanted, in eternity.

  • @Bennyboy1985 Why does God only give us the choice now? After we die, we're stuck with the choice. It doesn't make sense.

  • @Bennyboy1985 Besides this, most christians believe in hell. If you don't, it doesn't mean no one else does, even though you probably view yourself as true christians and others as not. Well, how could i tell the difference. They sure do call themselves christians.I'm just addressing their beliefs.

  • My study shows that most of the pronounced atheist I know are on the lower half of the "smart" totem pole!!! And I know a lot of people from dudes flipping burgers to rockstars to investors to astronauts!

  • @krsguitarist Clearly, you are looking at your totem pole from an upside-down position. That's why you probably think you're near the top.

Professed atheists (not pronounced, you silly) are generally more intelligent than theists at this point, because it isn't the zeitgeist to NOT believe. It takes extra thinking. The herd is theist, so that's the easy, default position. It takes brains and courage at this point to be different. Someday when atheism is common, that will change.

  • @Crunchy68 I'm not standing on my head silly! And thanks for that, I was in a bit of a hurry and couldn't think of that. It doesn't take extra thinking to be an atheist! If anything it takes less! I don't even know what your talking about? Are you talking about understanding physics and space?

Also I have do disagree with you, atheism is common and very easy! Most people I know don't believe or are unsure, etc...and if you don't believe why make it a point to be a professed atheist???

  • @krsguitarist If most people you know are atheist, then your demographics are different from most of America. Christianity is the most common religious position here. Therefore, Christianity is what is most often taught to children, and thereby brought with them into adulthood as the default belief, and passed down to their children. It is only by consciously deciding to break that cycle that atheism generally gets a foothold.

Most college professors and scientists are atheist not Christian.

  • @Crunchy68 I'm aware Christianity is the most common religion here. As far as my demographics...I live in southern California, visit all my family and friends back in Illinois twice a year because I am from there. I also have friends from all over the U.S. and several different countries due to my time in the U.S. Marines.

Just because children are taught Christianity doesn't mean they believe it! Atheism doesn't need a foothold! It's simply a non-belief! Some are just passionate about it?

  • @krsguitarist It would be nice if most children were able to think fully and clearly enough to reject Christianity and the Bible as "fonts of infallible, fundamental, eternal truth that explains everything literally and perfectly and works the same for us today as it did when it was first written". This is obviously not so.

I am passionate about being atheist because I know such lies and fallacies are being taught to innocent minds, who do not know how to reject them on their own. I help.

  • Well your passionate about something you can't prove, which is a big argument for atheist! Christianity has helped a lot more people turn around their lives and live happier, healthier, and better than atheism has! I don't believe in AA but I'm glad people go and get help there! Just like Christians cant "prove" there is a God, atheist can't prove there is not!

Trust me, you help no one!!!

  • @krsguitarist Christianity has been around longer, and is more popular, so there have been many more chances for Christian people to do good. But Christianity itself isn't good, it's just a fable, and a delusion, and in it's name many many horrors have been done.

I'm passionate about reality. I care about helping people use their minds to do good because that's what makes sense, not to follow the laws and customs of a religion created by ancient barbaric genocidal sexist desert tribesmen.

  • @Crunchy68 Lol, ok!

  • I propose a different theory. The bond/link within the brain between identifying a color and identifying a word in a theist's brain is not as strong as the bond/link in the atheist brain. This would point to a theist brain being more likely to accept what is given/proposed (as in scripture) and not giving it another thought, while an atheist brain as having a better working BS detector. Whaddya think?

  • what do you think the freemason checkered floor represents?

its the duality between two worlds, our world and the other dimension

  • "Light came before stars", genius.

  • @LegionIscariot Yep, and the sun took less time to create than the Earth and is younger than the Earth even though somehow the Earth revolves around IT.

  • @LegionIscariot Well that is actually true

  • One matter that is beyond dispute is the following:

The greater one's IQ or education, the lower is one's propensity to be religious. This statistic has been shown over, and over, and over, and over again in every study completed on the topic.

  • @arthurneddysmith

Wrong, it has not "been shown over, and over, and over, and over again in every study completed on the topic.".....

It has "been shown over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again in every study completed on the topic."

  • "Smart" is such an ambiguous word. It's relative to the people being compared to 1 another.

  • This whole einstein was a christian argument is a joke. 1.) you don't know what he believed at all he may have mentioned god in a few quotes but that was probably just use of standard language. kind of like saying god damn doesn't mean you believe in god it's just the language you grew up with. 2.) who cares if he believed, it doesn't mean anything. Aristotle believed the earth was flat, so because he was a genius does that mean the earth is flat. Everyone can be wrong even einstein

  • When I do tests like this I cross my eyes so it's blurry. Muahahahaha

  • I dont think there is a link between religion and intelligence. There r some stupid atheists, but there are also stupid christians

  • @MamaMario13 Yes, but studies do show that the non-religious tend to be smarter.

  • I so agree with the guy below me most scientist are atheist I think, last time I heard that's how it was

  • Honestly, I think I'm to the point where it sounds like we should give up. I mean... they don't want us here, so why don't we leave their, "god blessed" country to them and spread ourselves out where we would be more appreciated. I'd love to see what would happen if all of the atheists left the US.

  • Let's see...Americans statistically do much worse than other First World countries on tests, yet we have one of the lowest rates of atheism. How does one reconcile these two facts?

  • @joe1234567890i The reason I'm moving to Canada.

  • They had this IQ test show on TV in my country, "Test The Nation", and they also included some statistics on these questions. The most intelligent people believed the least, and vice versa. I'm not making it up, they actually did that. : )

  • There's 100s if not 1000s of different fields of study.. Now define smarter for each category.. I'm sure each category is going to have theists and atheists on top..

  • Smarter= being demonstrably more successful in doing things. Theists could only be on top insofar as they do NOT use magical thinking in getting to their answers (ie, to exactly the degree to which they reject magical thinking and embrace rationalism, they will be smarter). To split "smarter" into fields of study is irrelevant, as the only way we can determine if someone is smarter is with empirical demonstrations--and ALL fields of study require basic things like critical thinking.

  • The worlds most famous study on this very topic resulted that Theists were less intelligent (IQ) than atheists. You no doubt know that study.

  • really smarter ..if the atheist scientific community left the USA ...we would lose 93% of our greatest minds ...nice try

  • I do good reading the word coloured in a different colour. Like reading the word "Blue" when the colour of the letters of that word are not blue, like lets say orange.

  • I don't buy this "atheists care more about whether the answer is true, while theists are more relaxed" hypothesis. Those color tests are used to help determine if you are more right-brained or left-brained.They don't test intelligence. I wouldn't be surprised if theists and atheists work in different hemispheres.

  • Theists pass the test because:

    1. Christians don't actually read the bible OR

    2. Christians read the bible but do not comprehend what they read, or they twist it to match what they want to believe, thereby brushing off the 'bad stuff'

  • Is there a point here? I personally know an atheist who runs a large atheistic organization. Yep, he's a smart one. No doubt about it. So tell me why he isn't smart enough to start his atheist gospel in the same vicinity of his FIVE children instead of putting about 2000 miles distance from them. I can only conclude that fame was more important to him than his own children. How smart is that?

  • I would rather be dumb and have some knowledge about the world I live in then smart with only beliefs about the world I live in. i would trade my intellect for knowledge, I would not trade anything for beliefs.

  • he got better at reading!!

  • Oh yeah sure, and thats why the great majority of scientists with the longest education are atheists, LOL. You cant use scientists that lived long ago as examples, you have to use present living people.

  • only idiots believe in invisible creatures with magic powers. omg please.

  • 154 Theists watched this clip so far. =)

  • that just means theist do not question things, they just go with it. if the word blue was written in red and i was asked "what color is this?" my logic and rational would be like "wait, what color is what? i have two color options, please be more specific" its like theist who read the bible and dont question the genocide, the slavery and sacrifice, i read it and im like "what? slavery and genocide? why is this dude sacrificing his own son? i couldnt sacrifice my own son for an invisible being"

  • I am God. Deal with it.

  • @Vortex289 No no no! I am God and I can prove it!

When I pray I talk to myselfe...

  • @TibiCogitate Why on earth would God want people to pray to him anyways? That's like reading millions of variations of junkmail every day. I just throw them out. God has no religion, its just mankind that panicked and decided to give him one, or two... or a hundred.

  • a question out of the blue.

what's the name of the song in the beginning?
