I think it is just inexscusable that people like this are even allowed to OWN horses, if the best they know how to do is to torture them this way.

She had all the heart that makes the best race horse bloodlines, and they threw her away for their OWN greed. :( Pathetic.....

It is really sad to hear about what had happen to this filly. But,I really doubt the Jerry Hollendorfer has even laid his eyes on this filly. He is based in California and River Downs is in Ohio. Alot of the big name trainers has several stables of horses located in different states and his assitants are in charge of the horses welfare. So it may not be all of jerry Hollendorfers fault.

If it is true that the horse had any of the health problems claimed, then Hollendorfer is guilty of animal abuse and should be expelled.

It is revealing that Hollendorfer sold the horse to be slaughtered.

Hollendorfer needs to be held accountable for running Heavenly Perfect with fractures and bone chips. To think she tried so hard and won him all that money so that he could run her in that condition and then ship her off to slaugter. It breaks my heart seeing her run and knowing what pain she must've been in...but still giving it her all.

Hollendorer's ethics are beyond questionable. The JC needs to do something about this. Hopefully this horse has not died in vain.

This is why i hate the racing industry! From the nurse mare foals,to cripling young horses and then shipping them off to slaughter.They see these beautiful animals as nothing but a disposable commodity!

I can't believe that they would actually run her with everything she had wrong with her...chips, fractures and she was even in second place for awhile!! Wow that girl had some heart!! Too bad they sent her to slaughter after this...she was rescued from there but was euthanized due to all the things wrong with her an the pain she was in from them. They could have quit running her an used her as a broodmare...jerks!!

This was Heavenlys last race. 10 days after her owner / trainer Jerry Hollendorfer shipped her off to slaughter. Rescues rescued her and exrays showed her to have foundered on both front feet, plus she had fractures and bone chips in her legs. Hollendorfer SHOULD HAVE been aware of this, and ran her anyway! The rescuers had to euthanise Heavenly and now we are calling for a Jockey Club inquiry into why he ran her like that. RIP Heavenly Perfect. We hope your death wont be in vain!
