In Greece we don t throw sugared almonds in the church! We serve them as "boubounieres" on the door of the church, just after the wedding!

Yes, we do throw rice outside. Boubounieres are given at the reception. You obviously experienced a wedding in the "Old Country". What part of Greece where you when you attended? My family is from Ithaki.

Ahh, Kefalonia, very nice. I travelled via Argostoli airport or Patras to Sami then onto Vathi, Ithaki with the boat.

I am sort of in the area...Northeast suburbs. I go to Annunciation, but Fr. Bob was the priest there for years...I grew up with him as my priest and I miss him so much. I was so disappointed when I heard he was moving a year before my wedding!
