I'm disappointed by this a bit......changing the arrangement takes something away from the song. It makes it a bit closer to the rest of Bob's stuff, but I always thought this one was a bit better than the rest.
Not many from the punk scene (or anywhere else) can say they're in better shape now than 20 years ago. It's great to see Bob still rockin'. One of the greatest songwriters of his generation--I saw him live solo two years ago, the catalogue is stunning. I'm sure he hates the idea, but I'm still going to hope in vain for a Huskers reunion tour.
A gay man with something to say? Is anything about his songwriting "gay"? He's just a singer and a songwriter. He refused to speak about his sexuality for years because he didn't want to be known as a "gay songwriter". I'm sure you didn't mean any offense, but hearing him spoken of that way burns me. He's a human being who speaks to the human heart. Bob rocks.
It wasn't a "mere mention," though. You implied that somehow gay men are less likely to have something to say. It wasn't like trublgrl was just going off for no reason.
I never meant, suggested or implied any such thing. Talk about a streeeeeeeeeeetch. To say that he's a great example of a gay man with something to say does not imply that gay men are less likely to have something to say. It means, very simply, he's a very good example of a gay man with something to say. Good God, why do people have to disect everything - even a compliment - to try to pick a fight????
This sound song only be played on the acoustic! No light and shade Bob!

Bob's one of my heroes! I like Husker Du a lot but I LOVE Sugar. "Copper Blue" is a perfect record in every way.
Thanks so much for posting this. :)

Great Gay artist!

Yeah, Bob got in shape some time back. When he's clean-shaven, it knocks a decade or two off him. :)

wipeout2098,
Bob made a comment about getting in shape a while back along the lines of...
"I was sick of being the fat, sensitive guy in the sweater standing alone in the corner of the room at parties"

Typical Bob show = Bob starts off very angry about something, then ends the show very nice to the audience. Makes you really like him.

You're right. I meant no offense. But if the mere mention of Bob's homosexuality burns you, I can't help you with that. :)
