A fire started on some grassland near a farm in Indiana. The fire department from the nearby town was called to put the fire out.
The fire proved to be more than the small town fire department could handle, so someone suggested that a rural volunteer fire department be called. Though there was doubt that they would be of any assistance, the call was made.

Just think how many poor souls including you & me could have avoided all this suffereing if his findings had been given some recognition. Thanks for giving me a taste of travel again. A clear understanding of Multiple sclerosis has proved elusive for generations of doctors and scientists.
The first suggestion that there could be a vascular component to the disease dates back 180 years to Sir Robert Carswell from Glasgow. He was drawing an image of a post mortem sample of brain tissue from an MS patient and commented that "there appears to be vascular lesions here".
I've just had a doplar ultna -sound of my veins at the Glasgow Clinic, the results of which apparently showed little difference to the previous doplar ulttra-sound done in august last year. I remember the doctor saying that this does not mean that there has been no change just that no change has been detected with poplar ultra sound. The MRI may show something.
