  • I'm jealous of your Sword of the Stranger items! Did the books come in the boxset or were they individual?

  • holy shit, sword of the stranger artbooks....links??

  • Do you have any links to some of these art books on amazon or any info on where we could find them?

  • A Gurren feakin lagann art book. Lesean your stash is hot, so lucky!

  • can you scans some of these on scribd.com

  • Thanks for the video. I'll have to look into Sword of the Stranger.

Also, LeSean, where can I find your flash animated series BattleSeed? I keep hearing a lot of good thing about it. I'm dying to check it out.

  • @Vid

I don't know how you can make any real use of those very small images....

Anyways, cool to see how you work though.

  • Do you have the english dvd box set, or the Japanese box set?

  • @Nigja28 Japanese. always. English box sets for japan are over priced and come with no goodies. You need the Japanese Box Set to get the 3 disc delux edition with artbook and storyboards. Good luck!

  • i just use videos form other artist like you and some manga or comics to help start thinking. Although man, i have to get all the books you mentioned in both parts!! Looking forward to the next one!

  • where did you get the gurren laggan book?

  • ok i think i found the boxset for sword of the stranger....do you have vany idea where to find the first sword of the stranger storyboards you showed???

  • No love for Shinya Ohira, eh? I guess some people can't get past his drawing style.

  • @BruceLeedar Ohira san is legendary. But his short was far below my expectations. The work he did on Kill Bill, GITS2, FLCL, NARUTO, etc were spectak. but this stuff i didnt like at al. Underwhelming.

  • Your stash videos really give me the urge to draw, lol

I wish those books were available in the States. I've been dying to buy anything by Tatsuyuki Tanaka, or anything Gurren Lagann. Quick question: how do you practice? Let me clarify: I love animation, and hope to work as an animator one day, but I don't know what particular skills I should hone (technical drawing, composition, etc). What do you think is the most important skill, and how do practice to perfect it? Thanks in advanced!
