People talking about Kobe or LeBron on this video don't get it. While Ray can't do what they do, those guys can't do what Ray does. The only players today that move without the ball well are Ray, Rip Hamilton, and Kyle Korver. Moving without the ball is difficult to master because you need great court vision, sharpshooting skills, and endless stamina. That's why very few choose to learn it. It's not like your typical triple-threat situation giving you more time to think. It all happens so fast.

Does anyone think that Dirks one-foot jump shot should be introduced as a fundamental? It seems to be effective. Maybe he's just the first one to practice it. Is it something like the Sky hook that "only" Kareem could do? Nobody uses it anymore and that was effective too.

Ray is not one dimensional. He doesn't consume time with the ball, he usually plays off it. Guys who move without the ball are used to spread the floor for other teammates and it keeps the offense moving. He also contributes to the team rotations on the defensive end. That's how team ball is played and Ray did it for every team he was with. Do you even play or watch basketball?

What exactly is so weird about it? Bringing the ball down before raising up to shoot is part of the momentum in the follow through. All the shooting greats do this, from Larry Bird to Reggie Miller.

You usually try to keep the ball high to protect it if a defender was on you, especially guys who use fadeaway jumpers or shoot off the dribble (Jordan, Kobe, Wade). Guys who run coming off screens to lose their defender and move without the ball (Reggie, Ray, Rip) don't often worry have to about that. They're more worried about getting their shot off quick before their defender gets to them.

Yeah now I got my jump shot fixed my only problem now is that sometimes it feels like I realease with my both hands I'm not sure tho..

For everybody make sure that:

1. You bend your legs

2. Jump forward it helps me

3. Shoot with your finger tips

4. Make sure your arm is straight and in 90 degree angle if possible

5. Keep your head straight

Also psychology is important thing believe in yourself. With negative thoughts you get negative results

Ray is such a great player I hope that ring gets him in the HOF. Best shooter ever in the NBA. He can get off a shot with any amount of space and can shoot with his body in ANY motion.
