I loved X, it was amazing. But I don't feel it was urgently needing a remake. It's graphics were nowhere near as outdated as it's predecessors. Yet they still insist on it when they clearly know the vast majority of the series' fans have been screaming for a VII remake.
Is the world of Final Fantasy VII simply too big for them to take on now?
The thing is, remaking FFX wouldn't be anywhere near as expensive as remaking FFVII. FFVII would have to be remade from the ground up (even the battle system). FFX's CG scenes are already perfect so those don't really need to be touched, the battle system may need a bit of tweaking, but ultimately they only really need to focus on upgrading the graphics. Also FFX is the 3rd best selling FF of all time so that's probably why they decided to go with FFX.
Cost is irrelevant in my opinion. I'm in no doubt that if they remake this game (and do it properly), it will dominate the sales market. They'll make far more than the costs took to make.
True, X won't cost much because you've already said it, there's not much that needs done bar a few slaps of graphics and minor changes and tweaks here and there. But for me that's cheap and lazy, not to mention not listening to your fans, who never really asked for X regardless of sales.
I'm guessing that they are planning on making an FFVII remake but since remakes tend to be risky endeavors, I think they're using FFX as a guinea pig to see if their remakes will have good reception and sale well.

I really really hope that they remake Final Fantasy 7 again. It's my favourite game of all time and playing it on my ps3 would be so amazing. But if they were to remake this guys, everything would have to be almost the same, bar the graphics.

He is right though. I am a massive rpg fan abd frankly, ff7 is worse than ff6 and chronotrigger just to name a few. It is one of the most overrated games. Good, but not as good as people say.
They stated they are going to do it when they can get the original team back together, because as of now, they are all busy on other projects. One can hope, and it sounds reasonable enough.
No matter what game of the series we prefer or what character we love the most, it all comes down to the one true fact, we are all a part of a family that loves a series that has not only shaped the world, but shown us what a true game can do to your nostalgic memories. I loved the FF1 and im still loving the games to date, cant wait for FF13-2.

And I'm not going to pretend to sound experienced, because fact of the matter is, I actually have played Final Fantasy games for almost two decades. It just sounds silly to denounce every other Final Fantasy as heresy and only praise FFVII, or only praise FFVI. It's ok to like more than one Final Fantasy, but both parties need to learn to stop acting elitist. My best friend and I grew up playing Final Fantasy. He likes VII the most, while my favorite is VI. Nothing wrong with that.
There are other FF games out there that are just as good (if not better) than FFVII. IV and VI come to mind.
Also, I kind of wish the FFVI elitists would just give it a rest. Yes, FFVI is also my all time favorite Final Fantasy, but you're making a lot of the true old school FFVI fans look bad. There's no need to hate for the sake of hating. At least you can say you had the pleasure of enjoying earlier Final Fantasy games.

Would be epic the way it is, but you know some babies will complain about the graphics.
Just remember: The more HD and detailed the graphics, the longer it takes the artists, so the longer it takes to make the game.
If you were okay playing as a guy with cubes for fists, this is as good as you need it.

I really really hope that they remake Final Fantasy 7 again. It's my favourite game of all time and playing it on my ps3 would be so amazing. But if they were to remake this guys, everything would have to be almost the same, bar the graphics.
That includes the music, dialogue, voice actors, cutscenes, monsters, levels, side quests, humour, characters ect because it was all those little things that made it great. If square makes this again like recent Final Fantasys all 7 million of us will be

And I'm not going to pretend to sound experienced, because fact of the matter is, I actually have played Final Fantasy games for almost two decades. It just sounds silly to denounce every other Final Fantasy as heresy and only praise FFVII, or only praise FFVI. It's ok to like more than one Final Fantasy, but both parties need to learn to stop acting elitist. My best friend and I grew up playing Final Fantasy. He likes VII the most, while my favorite is VI. Nothing wrong with that.

There are other FF games out there that are just as good (if not better) than FFVII. IV and VI come to mind.
Also, I kind of wish the FFVI elitists would just give it a rest. Yes, FFVI is also my all time favorite Final Fantasy, but you're making a lot of the true old school FFVI fans look bad. There's no need to hate for the sake of hating. At least you can say you had the pleasure of enjoying earlier Final Fantasy games.

Since I got my Ps3 Ive been waiting for this game, its the main reason why I bought the system to begin with, and now they are continuing their journey to make the shittiest final fantasy games, including an ONLINE MMORPG called final fantasy online.
The story of the game is already done, just remake the fucking graphics, put a new label on it and put a pricetag and people will buy the shit out of it.

But the 3D was shit. Music in FFVI is better than FFVII. I can replay FFVI (as I have done) but the characters in FFVII make me want to shoot myself. (Actually, two emo kids, Cloud and Vincent.) And I enjoyed FFVI way more than FFVII. This is just my opinion though. Entitled to your own.
