@Insomniac8888 FF7 is over rated by the second generation of FF fans which consists mostly of young children who were brought up on the PS1 series of Final Fantasy games. It will probably dissapoint you to find out that most people think PS1 is one of the worst consoles ever made and didn't age at all. The graphics are absolutely terrible, and the FF games on PS1 have thus not become NEARLY as classic as the old 2d FFs which have aged waaaay better than PS1 lmao. FF7 as overated as Skyrim. Kids.

@Atstyle FF XIII took over 43 GB on a blu ray disc, & The world map for FFVII alone is like 30 times bigger than the exploration you get on grand pulse, in other words it would take over 80 to 100 GB just to remake the world map for FFVII.

True that it really wouldn't take as long to remake this as Square Enix says they will. In a nutshell, they just need to put XIII graphics, and do voice-acting. Yeah that still takes time, but not as much as a completely new idea, like trying to come up with story, gameplay, etc.

I loved X, it was amazing. But I don't feel it was urgently needing a remake. It's graphics were nowhere near as outdated as it's predecessors. Yet they still insist on it when they clearly know the vast majority of the series' fans have been screaming for a VII remake.
Is the world of Final Fantasy VII simply too big for them to take on now?
The thing is, remaking FFX wouldn't be anywhere near as expensive as remaking FFVII. FFVII would have to be remade from the ground up (even the battle system). FFX's CG scenes are already perfect so those don't really need to be touched, the battle system may need a bit of tweaking, but ultimately they only really need to focus on upgrading the graphics. Also FFX is the 3rd best selling FF of all time so that's probably why they decided to go with FFX.
Cost is irrelevant in my opinion. I'm in no doubt that if they remake this game (and do it properly), it will dominate the sales market. They'll make far more than the costs took to make.
True, X won't cost much because you've already said it, there's not much that needs done bar a few slaps of graphics and minor changes and tweaks here and there. But for me that's cheap and lazy, not to mention not listening to your fans, who never really asked for X regardless of sales.
I'm guessing that they are planning on making an FFVII remake but since remakes tend to be risky endeavors, I think they're using FFX as a guinea pig to see if their remakes will have good reception and sale well.

I really really hope that they remake Final Fantasy 7 again. It's my favourite game of all time and playing it on my ps3 would be so amazing. But if they were to remake this guys, everything would have to be almost the same, bar the graphics.

He is right though. I am a massive rpg fan abd frankly, ff7 is worse than ff6 and chronotrigger just to name a few. It is one of the most overrated games. Good, but not as good as people say.
They stated they are going to do it when they can get the original team back together, because as of now, they are all busy on other projects. One can hope, and it sounds reasonable enough.
No matter what game of the series we prefer or what character we love the most, it all comes down to the one true fact, we are all a part of a family that loves a series that has not only shaped the world, but shown us what a true game can do to your nostalgic memories. I loved the FF1 and im still loving the games to date, cant wait for FF13-2.

Would be epic the way it is, but you know some babies will complain about the graphics.
Just remember: The more HD and detailed the graphics, the longer it takes the artists, so the longer it takes to make the game.
If you were okay playing as a guy with cubes for fists, this is as good as you need it.

I really really hope that they remake Final Fantasy 7 again. It's my favourite game of all time and playing it on my ps3 would be so amazing. But if they were to remake this guys, everything would have to be almost the same, bar the graphics.
That includes the music, dialogue, voice actors, cutscenes, monsters, levels, side quests, humour, characters ect because it was all those little things that made it great. If square makes this again like recent Final Fantasys all 7 million of us will be
