Sure I'd take a new one for free, but unless you've felt the torque of the old Hemi, you haven't felt a REAL HEMI. Last one I saw was at a show in scottsdale had 3.5 exhaust all the way back. When it fired up, people stopped and ran to check it out. Wow what a sound.

To much motor for the street tires of the GTX the guy had it in, it was just a smoke show, but wow pretty much sideways as long as he wanted to keep it that way. Glad I grew up in that time, got to ride in a lot of pretty fast cars. Another eye opener although to much motor for tires was a 68 Camaro 396ss with a 4 spd. Silly fast and sideways in the first three gears.

The only other MOPAR I would take over it is either a 69 Charger General clone or a white 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 440-6 4sd 3:23 gears (ie) Kowalski's car! And before you tell me his car was a HEMI you are wrong because ANY MOPAR guy can tell the difference in sound between a HEMI and a Wedge!

I put a 500" stroker in it and best time was a 10.99. I was soo cool, I had a 10 second car! Next pass I blew up the motor bad. LOL, oh well, that's racing I guess. sold it, wish I hadn't now I have a tubechassi 4link car 9.27@148 best pass. Great car but can't afford to run it much. methanol, fuel injected. Expensive all the way around.

These Hemi's are nice but Chrysler was at it's peak when they came out with the 1981 K car. High performance 2.2. Sharp looks. Quality like you would not believe. I had one. It only broke down on me 89 times. I scrapped it before it reached 100 break downs. What a car! I still wish I had that engineering marvel. Good old Lee Iacocca!

Vehicles made currently literally have weak points in the frame and body to collapse on impact. They say it will help keep the people inside the vehicle more safe. First off, the vehicle is going to destroy, so how can that be safe, two, it's unrepairable forceing you to purchase another new vehicle. Older vehicles were made tough and durable, not fllimsy and ready to break by hitting a friggin fire hydrant.
The easiest way to affect the involuntary transfer of a motor vehicle title to a car bought with out the title, when the only document that you have to prove ownership is a bill of sale is by using the Notary Certificate of Default Method.
Manufacturers need to go back to the old times and start making rides like tihs again. Not sorta of like these or close to, but right down to the frame. Get rid of the pollution control crap and electronics. They have enough money, and it's very possible. American muscle is dying slowly and it's ver sad. There is a demand out there, and it needs to be done.

Take the modern hemi engine for example... all of the pollution and emissions standards kill the power potential it has, that's why we have so much trouble getting 6 liter engines over 425 horses.
Look at some of mopars 6.1L racing blocks. Its the same block but gets over 550 horses due to the lack of limitations
Its not manufacturers that killed the muscle cars, its our govt's laws

@majordave223 I love the old cars, too. However, the electronics are what make it possible for Chrysler to produce an engine of only 5.7L, that's capable of making 380 HP, while getting 24 mpg. The engine nowadays hp per liter figures engineers could only dream of in the past. American Muscle is alive, and kicking!

These Hemi's are nice but Chrysler was at it's peak when they came out with the 1981 K car. High performance 2.2. Sharp looks. Quality like you would not believe. I had one. It only broke down on me 89 times. I scrapped it before it reached 100 break downs. What a car! I still wish I had that engineering marvel. Good old Lee Iacocca!

Vehicles made currently literally have weak points in the frame and body to collapse on impact. They say it will help keep the people inside the vehicle more safe. First off, the vehicle is going to destroy, so how can that be safe, two, it's unrepairable forceing you to purchase another new vehicle. Older vehicles were made tough and durable, not fllimsy and ready to break by hitting a friggin fire hydrant.

Manufacturers need to go back to the old times and start making rides like tihs again. Not sorta of like these or close to, but right down to the frame. Get rid of the pollution control crap and electronics. They have enough money, and it's very possible. American muscle is dying slowly and it's ver sad. There is a demand out there, and it needs to be done.

@majordave223 if it wasn't for government laws I guarantee you the big 3 would still have those kind of cars.
Take the modern hemi engine for example... all of the pollution and emissions standards kill the power potential it has, that's why we have so much trouble getting 6 liter engines over 425 horses.
Look at some of mopars 6.1L racing blocks. Its the same block but gets over 550 horses due to the lack of limitations
Its not manufacturers that killed the muscle cars, its our govt's laws

@majordave223 I love the old cars, too. However, the electronics are what make it possible for Chrysler to produce an engine of only 5.7L, that's capable of making 380 HP, while getting 24 mpg. The engine nowadays hp per liter figures engineers could only dream of in the past. American Muscle is alive, and kicking!

@majordave223 The demand isnt much and if they do make cars like those, probably wouldnt be cheap, due to low demand. Cars with pollution control crap and electronics are the one with a high demand. If they make cars like those, they will ruin what was a great part of automobile history, by making what is basically remakes of all those Chargers and Torinos. Very few will buy them without electronics, and companies wouldnt gain much.

Yep, Im pretty sure that chevy is cool, but mopars flat out kick ass! Most people can say they've seen an old camaro or nova in the last few months. But when I see a charger or cuda rollin around I feel like a kid in a candy shop!!! They are few and far between and are true legends!!

I know where there is a barn full of cars like this. Roadrunners, chargers, Challengers, you name it. most of them,have nice original paint, and mag wheels. They look like they have been there since the early 80,s. 69 Camaro Z28 convertible there too! Looks like you drive them all out! Not exactly abandoned, but the farm is. Unbelievable!

My favorite Mopar is a "70" AAR Cuda( Plum Crazy of course). My Favorite chevy would have to be a "69" Chevelle. The Hemi, 440, ZL-1, and the LS6 have all learned a legendary status. The only think I hate is Ford. I will Never every in my entire life own a ford.
