  • NOOO poor sousaphone ...i play tuba and sousaphone ...its sad when you see stuff like this XD

  • That was so funny.

  • Oeoeoeouch!

  • hahaha that is hilarious!!!

  • Oh, you. Quit complaining. You'd slip if the turf was that slippery, too. And don't start with Gator Band.

  • Poor guy ):

  • TUBA DOWN!!!! TUBA DOWN!!!!!

  • bahahaha! GO GATORS!!

  • proof that they fail to the nth degree

  • Go Gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sousaphones.

  • @BetterThanAThesis Glad your one of the few that actually know what instrument it is. lol

  • Uhh, i think your doing it wrong!

  • @DrFatJoke yeah, that happened one day at our practice. The wind was really bad and there are only 3 tubas ,including me, the other two both weigh over 200. I on the other hand weigh only 140 my band director eventually made me ground my tuba cause I couldn't handle it.

  • my sisters boyfiredn is in that lol

  • That's hilarious!! I don't like fsu but they have an awesome band!

  • jeez they have alot of tubas in that band mine only has 3!

  • @92Funny They have 32 this year

  • mcatdt

  • Oh no...falling with a tuba=terrible news.

  • ouch.

    that could lead to death.

  • falling is not an option!

  • Sad

  • lol. your band is boring and you guys fell

  • @MrKomKast no twere not you srry it was wet

  • i feel really bad for the tubas....it's always the tubas.....

  • the ground was wet right? if not, then i second that motion.

  • yes, the ground was extremely wet and saturated. with the grass combined with water and mud, it was like marching on soap. it was difficult to walk without falling much less run.

the directors even advised them not too. whoops.

  • pathetic...

  • lol. Our sousas at Murray State University run in circles and chase each other around sometimes. I havent fallen yet...knock on wood...

  • I know Allison at Murray!

  • @NaumBarker She's awesome. She made a tuba girl outta this woodwind lol

  • two dues one tuba...?

  • Darace of diablo ur dumb the susaphone is not heavy at all grow some nuts and be a real man or woman and idgaf about how I spelt it cause I playit I don't care

  • This still makes me laugh by butt off when I watch it. We, the Flush alumni, told them to keep it down to a jog when the field is wet... but they didn't listen. Haha, a proud moment in our history.

  • @OmegaBellydance

Oh Rachel...of course you told them. And OF COURSE they didn't listen...they're Flush. You of all people should know that ;)

  • lmao omg hahahahaha

  • i was the only sousaphone player not to fall, i was third in line. and to all the haters, we ran balls to the wall in deep water, cause we are the best. ROYAL FLUSH!

  • YOU KNOW!

  • ha but pitty i fell backwards and sprained my wrist with a tuba

  • i bet they got yelled at bye their director for that sucks for them but is hilarious for everyone else

  • nah. the directors just made fun of them for awhile. they probably shouldn't have tried doing it with the field being so flooded and slippery. i definitely slipped and fell while entering the field as well (and i play piccolo!). it was legendary :)

  • I almost fell several times. That pregame was so great. :)

  • ROFL... at least they didn't fall foward and damage the neck of the tuba... like i did... twice...

  • how did u manage to do that O-O !!

  • wow that must have hurt! i play tuba and i cant tell you how many times (because my band has plastic chairs) that my tuba sliped off of the chair and the bell hits me in the head and even thaat hurt but i cant imagin what that would feel like!

  • As a former college marching band tuba player I have to say......

THAT IS FREAKING HALARIOUS....... get a sense of humor people. If you can't laugh at yourself, then you are in DOOMED.

What makes it even better is it's FSU fallin on their backsides. Bunch of cocky '____'s when we met them.

  • ummm thats not a tuba.....its a sussafone

  • Sousaphone*

  • a sussafone?

Would it really have been that hard to type sussafone in google?

  • i play tuba and it hurts when you fall but it is really funny

  • I loved how they just got back up like nothing happened. It's college football, and it's pageantry will go on - rain or shine.

  • that's gotta suck, i feel bad and dont at the same time. as a member of a marching band falling on the field is part of life. its embarressing but we laugh about it afterwards.

one game we were marching in onto the field, at the back like always, but it rained the day before so it was total mud back there. each line slid when we got to the worst part. but we didnt fall. then we all almost fell while performing our show. the ENTIRE back half was mud

  • you have NO idea. it had just poured rain before we marched and the water was up to our ankles. it was nearly impossible not to fall. but at least i didn't bust ass like the section leaders did lol.

  • I play tuba, and once you get used to falling, its kinda fun. Yeah it hurts, but its all a part of the instrument.

  • Note: at :11 or so. "Haha look at them falling." As well as the background laughs.

I'd don't find that very funny. That hurts like hell. Which really to me, any marching band falls with any instrument is not funny...

  • Lol, I play the tuba and I must say its no surprise that they fell haha. Those things are heavy as shit, and on top of that running with them would be pretty difficult with the wet feild and all.

  • :[ how sad

  • that is fucking sad

  • smack in the chops?? ouch!

  • What do u mean Like a contra or a susaphone Because i Marched both but i used the contra for a drum and bugle corp and a susaphone for high school the contra was a yamaha i think and the susaphone is a yamaha also i think but im not sure since thier in storage due to our season is already over

  • I'm damn proud of my section this year...

  • First I'm just going to say ponchos are for queers, and second being the Flush section leader, it was my last flush at home and it monsooned and I told me section that we were gonna go as fast as we can. I knew we would fall but it was the best damn pregame I ever had. Going down in front of 80,000+ isn't bad... I'm not embarrassed one bit, I would however be embarrassed to be a part of the sunshine band though...

  • yeah, totally! it must SUCK to play at national championship games... Marching there was fun for both bands, you don't have to hate.

  • lmao

  • yea it was funny but heres the deal a suasphone is a marching inturment but a contrabass is better to march with.

  • you ever march one? i used a yamaha last year

  • Haha, if that's not motivation to practice and be involved in a real musicians group, I don't know what is!

  • Oh my goodness poor guys hehe. It's funny cus even when tuba players see this sort of thing, they can't help but to laugh as well =P

  • i was at that game.. AHAHA.. good times

  • OH NO!!

    the TUBAS!!!

    D:

  • dumbasses

  • it is so hard to get up after a fall with a tuba

  • i was probally 36 rows above ypu

  • i was there, i had to buy new shoes cause of the rain

  • no...tuba is a concert instrument...sousaphone is a marching tuba they are one and the same in the ocatave they just look dfferent like a marching baritonje looks like a big trumpet but a concert baritone looks like a minituba

  • tuba is just another word for sousaphone

  • no they are totally different and sousaphone isn't a marching tuba cuz then why would they feild ACTUAL tubas?

  • a sousaphone IS a marching tuba, stupid.

  • I was at the game and I march a Bass Clarinet at my highschool so I know just how bad it hurts to fall with an instrument. Also, I'm a Gator and my band director is a seminole and he works with the chiefs so I have made fun of him ever since that game.

  • LMFAO, why exactly ARE they running around?! LMFAO XD

  • They do it every game. Its called flushing the field.

  • they do it every pregame. it's called "flushing the field" because they sprint around the seminole head in the middle of the football field. it's awesome when done right (which it is 99% of the time).

here's what it's supposed to look like:

    watch?v=45SIFjLzlGc

  • Where are the tuba players? All I see are SOUSAPHONE players.

  • I love this video, i am in low brass and i have seen a tuba fall but this is epic because they dont stop falling and they are running around like they dont know what to do.

    Best Video EVER!!!

  • I'm in UF's gator band & when i saw the tubas falling it was sad. yes, it was humorous because of the overall situation, but since I'm a band person I knew how they must of felt...totally embarrassing when you're just trying to do your job & support your school. My brother was a marching chief & I have a lot of respect for them, but I won't say i didn't laugh though!

  • grow up everyone!! this video has nothing to do with which school is better!! how immature to be arguing about that. the same thing would have happened to anyone who was put in this situation, so get over it

  • Top heavy.

  • fail

  • Why is everyone so sensitive? I would never root for anyone to get hurt. *cough* fsu fans cheering percy injury *cough* It was funny! If you can't find the humor in that, you're really lame.

  • I agree!

  • Yeah. I'm an FSU fan and I thought it was bad taste when the student section started cheering when Harvin hurt his ankle. Poor tubas. There wasn't anything they could've done. This one's going down in pregame history.

  • XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!

  • Neither band should have been allowed on the field in the condition that it was in. The field was enough of a mess without 250 people parading around it pre-game and half-time.

  • 400 people.

  • nyokarose. I believe you may need to do some research. FSU has not had just ONE Rhodes Scholar. FSU has had THREE Rhodes Scholars in the last FOUR years. You just don't see that happening at every university. This is not speaking on the research that comes out of the school, work with NASA and other government entities.

  • HAHAHHAHAHA!!! thats a good laugh. who cares if there was an inch of water u semi's, its funny -_-

  • Priceless!

  • To those of you laughing at these guys...

There was about an inch of water on the field. By some miracle, none of these guys were hurt, but they were very lucky. Imagine falling with about 35 lbs of metal wrapped around you, and a large mouthpiece permanently fixed inches in front of your mouth.

Maybe they should start wearing cleats.

  • Q boludo el del video

    Estaba borrachito jajajjaja

    But anyway I like it

It s fun but you have to improve

  • They are actually all very talented, but even the football players were slipping and sliding that day. The field was completely flooded and extremely muddy. No one knew how bad the field conditions were until we all started running out onto it.

  • This happens because most tuba players (but not all) tend to be Peter Griffin or Homer Simpson.

  • you obviously don't know shit about our tuba section then

  • FUNNY!

  • This is defiantly real... I was there. I feel bad for them, but it really was hilarious!

  • I thought the FSU football players had a bad day. Guess not ... damn Tuba players!

  • fake

  • Oh yeah its fake

    Dipshit

  • you try running on a field under 3 inches of water. then tell me it's fake.

  • whats fake?

  • I feel really bad for the musicians. Laughing at other people's misfortunes is for low IQ humans. I am not a fan of FSU, but the marching chiefs did their best under the circumstances and no one has the right to look down on them (but I realize some do that to make their own pathetic lives seem more important.

  • haahaha that sucks...their band director mustve been pissed at themmmm!

  • If this was Saddam Hussein's tuba squad, they would have been killed afterward.

  • nerds

  • Ouch!

  • Hahaha that is just EPIC, chiefs! Sucks that it was so slippery!

  • You never want to fall with a Tuba, an Oboe, maybe, but never a Tuba!

  • Those are sousaphones for the record.

  • wow..you should be proud to know what a sousaphones are..lol

  • We were wearing "ridiculous rain ponchos" because we have new uniforms and want to protect them.

  • wahhhhh

  • That was Smart, unlike FSU who does not know how to protect themselves and their uniforms. Half their band must be sick now

Nice the see the FSU tubas"The royal flush" go down the toilet!

  • Protect themselves? Do u really expect chiefs to wear cleats or ponchos (which would be pointless because youre gonna get wet anyway).

The only reason it was nice for you to see the royal flush fall is because you wish you could be as good as they are!!!! Everyone is in good health as far as im concerned

  • actually the ponchos helped a lot, the only thing that got soaked or even semi wet was the bottom of the pants...(UF sousaphone)

  • I know you play brass, but do you know how much money it costs to replace every single pad on a woodwind instrument? Does fsu even provide a place to store them when it rains?

  • most of the woodwinds bring plastic bags/cases (at least they should). this particular pregame, they told woodwinds they didn't have to march with their instruments due to the rain. my instrument is a piece of crap anyway having survived 3 marching seasons already.

  • nah. we're all doing okay, thanks. we've been through much worse (aka the monsoon in miami). the uniforms just needed a bit of wiping off and drying out.

that was perhaps the funniest thing ever and totally not the their fault. i think half the band wiped out go-cadencing onto the field to a roaring gator crowd.

  • at least they weren't wearing ridiculous rain ponchos like the gator band lol

  • hey those kept us dry lol

  • It is kind of sad. FSU fails at everything.

  • harpua22, you're kind of an idiot.

  • There really is no reason to be so rude. Give me a break.

  • Umm, you must be retarded. They give "diplomas" in high schools and some colleges. They give degrees such as a Bachelor's in state universities and a other major institutions. I doubt you even went to UF because Im sure they would know the difference. Now go clean my toilet.

  • A diploma (from Greek δίπλωµα diploma, meaning "folded paper") is a certificate or deed issued by an educational institution, such as a university, that testifies that the recipient has successfully completed a particular course of study, or confers an academic degree. There. I taught you more than you ever learned at that clown college.

  • Where did u look that up, Wikipedia? That still doesnt mean you go to UF. You are ignorant to think that FSU is a clown school. Why dont you look up flying high circus. No clowns, just acrobats. And for the diploma comment, in the US, a diploma generally means that you graduated high school, just ask anyone. Cheers!

  • No it does it mean I GO to UF. But I did graduate from UF. It also corroborates the fact that you speak without knowing what about which you speaking. Your continued insistence on asserting that you were right despite conclusive evidence to the contrary proves that you chose the right "school."

  • wow listen to this guy

    he really thinks he's cool!

  • Honestly, you need to stop leaving rude comments on this video, especially since they have nothing to do with the video. If you want to bash FSU go talk to your other gator friends. Your comments are only showing people how ignorant you are and your making yourself look stupid.

I'm not a fan of UF but you don't see me writing rude comments and insulting the university.

  • i like it how harpaua22 is all like, it also corroborates the fact that blah blah blah ...snooty people like you are why i rejected UF and chose to go to FSU. but that's just my 2 cents.

anyway - it was rather hilarious watching my fellow chiefs falling thanks to the leftover pregame monsoon water on the field. flush is always entertaining, to say the least.

    mcatdt.

  • @laurac712 ahh i remember at one of my highschool marching bands Tournaments last year there was monsoon weather and we had to march at 180 bpm in it with a sous on =D. 40 mile per hour wind never helps either when you have a fucking sail lmao

  • @falloutboy7778 Tournament where I live, we were warming up and the wind was so bad porty potties had blown over! There were 2 instructors each holding down one sousaphone player. If they hadn't, we would've been on the ground and blowing away. Even with the help we still couldn't play properly...

  • @DrFatJoke yeah thank god im 6'0 235 otherwise i woulda flew away lol

  • @falloutboy7778 Yeah. My band director allows us to march in hurricanes. But those aren't enough of a rush for me. I jump right into the center of a tornado! And I always stay on step.

  • I would expect more maturity from a UF graduate. You continue insist that FSU is for less intelligent students. I am a classmate of Myron Rolle, a Rhodes Scholar. I am going to have a great future in medicine. To say that UF has far greater intelligence is negligible when your own "hero" Timmy Tebow scored less than 900 on his SAT. Do us FSU students a favor, GROW UP and LEAVE US ALONE.

    This video is hysterical!!!!

  • I don't see how one football player and one Rhodes scholar can represent the quality of the student body as a whole. I will venture to say that there are FSU football players with SAT scores very comparable to that of Tim Tebow; they are just not under the national spotlight like Tebow happens to be. And while the accomplishments of Mr. Rolle are certainly laudable (and far beyond my own), they do not represent all of FSU academics, just as Tebow does not represent all of UF athletes.

  • Victorymanny, on average, the SAT scores of FSU freshman are 50-90 points lower than those of UF freshmen, and compared to FSU, UF accepts 13% fewer of their undergraduate applicants, making it on average a more difficult school to get into. While I wouldn't say that these numbers are "negligible", this does not mean that FSU students are less successful in life than UF students, or that all FSU students are of a lesser caliber than all UF students. Hope that was mature enough for you.

  • band geeks. ha

  • That was something else!

  • poor flush.

  • They needed 2" cleats! That would have helped.

  • As far as I know we were offered cleats back in 2003 but didn't get them. It would be hard to chief step in them and it would mess the field up. Glad I was in the stands!

  • I felt bad for them but I also could help but laugh a little. Wasn't a good omen for the game *sigh*

Cool vidoes on you site by the way. Never seen the "flush" from a tuba players perspective before.

  • Me too, I started to think it was staged. Then relized it wasn't when they kept trying to finish.

    Thanks!
