  • Drumming is his passion, you can see that! Awesome!

    /watch?v=lQR33VVXO4Y

  • jukka es el mejor putos metanse a sus bateristas por el culo

  • siiiiiiiii............ JUKA ES EL MEJOR!!!!!!!!!

  • grasias akascha 1981

  • jukka nesesita mas apoyo

  • What's that soooong?!?!

  • hey jukka is perfect. He said he likes to be a perfectionist

  • I think he's the real master :P

    I love watch on him

    Hey, what's that song?

  • 1:07 Jukka has hair?

  • What I wonder is how many people have ever seen what he looks like without that bandanna. I bet we wouldn't even recognize him. XD

  • @Mippitty he has a massive forehead, I saw him without it in the Oceanborn album sleeve... It looks like the bandana elongated his skull haha

  • I'm a fan of nevalainen, but he isn't the best...

  • Jukka isn't the best. The best drummers have passion AND technique. Portnoy, Peart, Ian Paice, Bonham, all have great technique AND play with passion; just because not all of those guys do entertaining facial expressions and absolutely smash the drums like Jukka doesn't mean they have no passion. Having no passion is like Travis Barker, who just hits shit.

  • @Obelix5150 Jukka's a very dynamic player, He also has good technique, I don't see him struggling with RSI lol, and of course theres passion because if there is no passion you would just give up after you have your money, so what drives Jukka to continue drumming in Nightwish? Just because hes not on the front cover of Rhythm magazine does not make him any less passionate than anyone else, Also for the comment on Travis Barker, that made me lol, :-D

  • @ClintDuza You don't have to have fantastic technique to avoid RSI lol... and I never said that Jukka was passionless, I'm just arguing that, contrary to what certain others have said, Jukka is not the best because he is surpassed in technique and creativity by drummers like Peart and Portnoy, and also, I don't believe he's the most passionate either. Just taste. But he's not the best.

  • @Obelix5150 I'm not saying he's the best either maybe I just read too much into what you said because it looked like you were saying he had no passion or technique at all, which of course is silly because there has to be some sort of technique behind your drumming in order to groove, and there has to be passion to improve. However he's still formidable and a great inspiration, probably my biggest inspiration :-). Portnoy and Peart aren't human haha

  • @ClintDuza He has enough passion... and he has passable technique. I guess I'm a little sore because I spent a year learning Nightwish drum tracks, then found that I could no longer play stuff like Rush or Dream Theater or Porcupine Tree as easily... Playing Jukka's parts degraded my skill a bit... and apparently it degraded his too (I heard that he no longer can do Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean.)

  • @Obelix5150 nah, you just need to refresh yourself on the Dream Theatre and Rush, I learnt YYZ recently that was fun, I still play Nightwish, I learnt Dream Theatre "As I Am" a couple of years back but can't play it like I used to, maybe its age or the fact I have not played it in a good year and a half =/... either way if your skills are degrading its sort of your fault, like its my fault for not practicing enough and keeping on it, this is why you should never find time for a social life =p

  • @ClintDuza Like, I was playing stuff like Planet Hell, and all of a sudden I was like, Hey, lemme jam some Count of Tuscany, and its not just that I hadn't played the song in a while, my technique and sense of irregular meters had declined. But hell, maybe it is my fault. All I know is there are better drummers than Jukka, but you can idolize whoever you want.

  • @ClintDuza Oh and don't forget Gavin Harrison, a fucking beast whose songs I found significantly harder.

  • @Obelix5150 depends what you look for to idolise, I idolise Jukka for the way he keeps things simple but throws in some pretty cool parts to complements the music and his on stage persona. I idolise Steve Gadd for his grooves, I idolise Vinnie Paul for time keeping, I idolise, Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart, Thomas Lang, Buddy Rich, Dennis Chambers for technique, theres loads of great reasons to love certain drummers and they all have there own individual thing they are brilliant at.

  • @ClintDuza Just preference. As i said, you can idolize whoever you want. But to me a drummer is a complete picture. A great drummer is an amalgamation of everything you just listed (technique, grooves, persona and creativeness within the groove/not overplaying). I think Gavin Harrison is a great example of a drummer like that.

  • @Obelix5150 fair play to you :-), I'll check this bad boy out lol, anyway cheers for the little chat, message me sometime, its good to talk about idols, drums, strengths and weaknesses and all that jazz

  • @ClintDuza Hah yeah man. I personally look to Bonham for keeping things relatively simple but being creative as well, the guy from the original Meters (whose name escapes me) and other funk drummers in general for groove, and the same as you for technique... but don't forget Vinnie Colaiuta for all categories! haha.

  • @Obelix5150 Vinnie Colaita's incredible, have you seen the drum solo with Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Gadd, its absolutely brilliant, but I think Steve Gadd shines in it, because V.C and D.W are being really competitive with each other whilst Gadd just knocks out a groove, I think the grooves the best part, Dave Weckls another genius.

  • @ClintDuza Yep, all three of those doods are unbelievable. The Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scotts is a fuckin amazing DVD cause you got Jeff's amazing guitar, Tal Wilkenfeld's bass, and then on top of that, Vinnie fucking Colaiuta on drums. Sexy.

  • music???

  • me parece muy vacano el sentimiento con quer toca la bateria, se nota que lo hace por que le gusta lo disfruta es tan fuerte el sentimiento que contagia esa energia que chimba

  • Such Songs I could play as i was 9, but the song is great :P

  • Any one can bash on the Drums.... and anyone can develop the technique to be great... But Jukka Nevalainen Plays with something that I've never seen anyone else Play with.... Passion... he plays every note like it's his last. It doesnt take some robotic Douchebag to be a master on drums. It takes pure, raw, Passion. And Jukka Nevalainen Plays with more of that than any drummer out there.

  • @S0MEASS3MBLYR3QUIR3D You've never seen drummers with passion? :o Ever seen Portnoy?

  • What is this song?? Not nightwish?

  • 2 words → Gavin Harrison #LOL

  • @jimmywacked 2 words --> I AGREE! <3 Gavin harrison.

  • he got a beautiful eyes..

  • jukka meybe not is the best drummer but one of the best drummer of course he is he plays whit passion and you can hear in evri of his songs.

  • GEORGE KOLLIAS.. JURGEN VENTOR REIL.. CHRIS ADLER.. those are the real masters on drums!

  • i think Travis Barker is better!

  • @TheFirm1899 Wow. Travis Barker is incredibly overrated. If you said any I'd go easy on you but for fucks sakes, the man sucks.

  • @TheFirm1899

Travis Barker is hip hop drummer....

  • @BenioOwns no actually he's not.... he's more like a "pop"-punk drummer

  • @Kamil20XX U2 and NW aren't the same class... u2 is also good, But Nightwish is the best!

  • Jukka es una bestia genial god of the godddes

  • HE truly is among the greatest...sadly he is not nearly as well known in the States as he deserves to be. But he passion, drive, and talent cannot be questioned...he is a master crafstman and artist on the drum set. Long live Jukka, Long live Nightwish!!!!

  • Jukka is the best drums do not care what they say it hurts when you hurt the world is the best style is unique
