  • I HAVE A REQUEST. As i said i never forgot the story of the 14 year old girl dying on this sad day. But i never knew her name until i research the 401-1999 victims & found it only days ago. A new accident remined me. I have written a song about her struggle. It's been years now. I wish i could see a picture of Marceya McLamore. I have thought about her - written about.her. Other than than the story i have never known her face. Saddens me. Does anyone have a photo of Marceya? Info? Contact me.

  • I remember this day all the news reports. It has never left my memory. The story of marceya (though i never knew her) is something that reached out to me years ago & the story of this girl crying out i am only 14 please don't let me die & the fire that ended her life & her father & bother....any time i was at a bon fire over the years i would think of this poor girl i never knew & share the tragic story with others. Why is there no photos of the victims online for others to remember them???

  • 6:28 R.I.P. Uncle Wade <3

  • I drove past that 2 hrs earlier.....sad day

  • Jackie Gomes is my grandmother. She is a wonderful woman and I'm so thankful to still have her in my life today. She played a big part in saving these people's lives. She is a big inspiration for me. I love her so much. I'll never forget this day.

  • @xxMrsGaebWayxx Jackie Gomes is the wonderful paramedic that saved rescued my husband and gave my family an extra 2 weeks to be with him. I think of her often and hope that she is doing well. And I really wish to thank her for those precious days that we were able to spend with him.

  • this haappened right near my house when i was 8

  • This was in an area called "carnage alley" that stretched from London to Windsor. All the accidents caused were driver error. Later on, the road went from four lanes to six lanes.

  • @crlaw75 your an idiot, I used to live a 1 minute drive from there, the fog was so bad that morning, after walking out my front door, I couldn't even see my driveway, and it's only 6 feet between my front entrance and my driveway. So do tell us how it was "driver error"

  • @1996figureskater, police were constantly catching speeders and agressive drivers. There were constant media releases that year about slowing down and tailgating and such.

One report I heard was that the head truck driver dropped something in his cab and was reaching to pick it up when the driver ran into the vehicle.

Also, I am not an idiot.

  • @crlaw75 We are talking about a SINGLE event, not the year in it's entirety. Ontario has come a long way since then, being now known as the safest province to drive in. (meaning lowest number of accidents per capita)

  • I remember that day. It was very HOT that day in southwestern Ontario. I cannot remember what the weather forecasts were for Environment Canada and N.O.A.A. in the United States. Lake St. Clair was very warm; and well ... as calm as it was, devastation was imminent. What a tragedy.

  • I remember this day clearly. I was attending school at st clair in chatham, half my class was from windsor. The people who showed up late had some amazing stories about their journey between windsor and chatham that day.

  • Day this accident happen, I cross at Fort Erie with my Rig, i had no idea about the accident my Mom phone me on my cell phone, she was worry i was on the 401 near the accident, my ex wife couldn't even bother to see if i was okay ,i give credit to all people who came to the accident,
