It is already for sale Eneko Dorronsoro's documentary "TTAUP, TTAUP! The Beating of the Oars", which had its premiere at San Sebastian International Film Festival (2010). A great film about rowers and teamwork.
Canada was obviously the most powerful eight there, there was no other way they could row like THAT and still win by that much if they werent machines
it is a powerful stroke, but a very effective technique as well. Perhaps it a little unconventional the way the catch is emphasized, but the drive is extremely well connected, missing very little at the front end. just because it doesn't look effortless doesn't mean it isn't very good rowing - just look how the boat runs and very little water is thrown around.
What i mean by row like THAT, is that they dont row with a togetherness that you would expect from a winning crew. Also, there is alot of wasted movement within the boat itself, for example seven seats hands at the catch dove the entire race. One of the thigns with spracklen's way of coaching, is that he doesnt emphasize "pretty" rowing, but does emphasize bladework. thus the amount of water being thrown around. take alook at the 92 eight, same thing goes. aussies/danes row pretty, not CA

well yes to "alkhaline", they were the most powerful eight, but their eight was their top boat, unlike at least 3 other boats in that final...

what do you mean 'row like THAT' ?
it is a powerful stroke, but a very effective technique as well. Perhaps it a little unconventional the way the catch is emphasized, but the drive is extremely well connected, missing very little at the front end. just because it doesn't look effortless doesn't mean it isn't very good rowing - just look how the boat runs and very little water is thrown around.
